I wanted to write this song for many years since dad's passing, but it was still too raw and emotional. This song is very personal to me, and I knew Graeme Connors, who is based in Mackay, would be the perfect writing partner to help me capture the emotion I wanted to convey in the song. Graeme is an incredible songwriter, and it was a real pleasure to tell this story with him. I have to say, of all the songs I have written, this one is my favourite." The video was produced by multiple award winner Duncan Toombs from The Filmery. The pair travelled to Mackay and spent several days filming around the township, and on the very same boat, with Les' old work mates. Harvey says "This song documents the important moments in my father's life, and I knew Duncan Toombs was the right man to capture the emotion I wanted to convey in the video clip. He has done an incredible job painting the perfect picture to go with my lyrics. I still get emotional when I watch the video." With a career spanning over twenty years, half a million album sales, gold and platinum albums, and eight Golden Guitar awards, Adam Harvey is one of Australia's most popular and enduring recording artists. Firstly, I have to apologize to the Reviewers and Critics I have been lambasting over the past few weeks. Let me just say, SOME Critics and Reviewers know what they are doing. This apology has been brought about by the fact that I bought this album, 'Sound and Color' without hearing it first, just on the say of the Reviewer in the Herald Sun. I can't find the review in this bombsite I call an office, so, unfortunately, I can't name give him the credit he deserves. And, I am so glad I bought it. It is a great album! It is classified as 'Alternative' but has so many great influences and Brittany Howard, the lead singer is compared to Janis Joplin, Otis Redding, and Aretha Franklin. However, Brittany herself took inspiration from Bon Scott of AC/DC in her vocal style, praising his 'soulful' way of singing. Bill Risby. Pianist, bass player, composer and songwriter from Sydney, Australia. Bill started piano at age 3, and after progressing through classical grades, studied Jazz at the NSW Conservatorium of Music. He took up bass guitar at age 13 and bass was his second instrument at the Con. He is now regarded as one of the most accomplished musicians in his field, in jazz, improvised and popular music. Bill has played with many visiting jazz artists such as Bob Mintzer, Maria Schneider, Kitty Margolis, Velotti Batiste jazz ensemble, Wayne Bargeron, Bobby Shew, Rob McConnell, amongst others. He is the pianist for pop artist Leo Sayer, played on his latest two albums, and also toured extensively with him. He played piano on Glenn Shorrock's latest album “Rise Up”. He played on Russell Morris's recent ARIA award winning C.D. “Red Dirt - Red Heart”, and on Ian Moss's new album. Bill has also played with Spandau Ballet, the Supremes, The Temptations, Russell Morris, Joe Camilleri, Richard Clapton, Glenn Shorrock, Marcia Hines, and supported Dionne Warwick, and Steve Lacy. In country music Bill has played on many albums of the following artists: John Williamson, Kasey Chambers, Adam Harvey, Troy Cassar-Daley, Adam Brand, Gina Jeffreys, Beccy Cole, Melinda Schneider, Graeme Connors, Sara Storer, Lyn Bowtell, and Felicity Urquhart. He piano playing was featured in the films, “Australia”, “The Great Gatsby”, David Wenham's new film “Ellipsis”, as well as being the sound of Peter Allen's piano in the Recent Australian Tele-movie “Not The Boy Next Door.” Bill has 9 albums to his name, and is on the Ponca Jazz recording label (Norway), and Universal Music.
