I have a very fun one for you in the next cookbook launch of the month—my convo with Dan Churchill, who just released his newest book, Eat Like a Legend. Dan is a chef, athlete, and performance coach—you may have seen him on TikTok as “The Healthy Chef” or as a contestant on Masterchef Australia Season 5. He's been known to work alongside some pretty well-known names, such as Olympian Lindsey Vonn or Chris Hemsworth for preparation of his role in Marvel's, Thor. Our conversation spans from healthy dessert alternatives to his love for cashews!I created an Amazon storefront with a section called "Podcast Guest Cookbooks," where you can just click and see all of the guests' cookbooks that I've spoken to. Dan Churchill burst onto the scene as a contestant of Master Chef Australia in 2013. With a degree in strength & conditioning, Dan had a passion for health & fitness but that passion didn't live & die in the gym, it was well & truly alive in the kitchen too. Growing up with a family that loved food & enjoyed a healthy dose of Jamie Oliver on the evening tele, Dan had already self published his own cookbook without any professional training as a chef before his debut on the hit tv series. Whilst on the show, he realised he would have a short window to capitalise on the newfound attention, so without hesitation, his second cookbook was ready to hit shelves as soon as his time on the show came to an end. Moving with the power of social media & youtube, Dan dived head first into the content game & cooking has been his vehicle to have a positive impact on millions across the world. The now 33 year old has been living in NYC for several years, having created a number of businesses, an epic podcast & a following that has put him in the path of Hollywood's biggest celebrities as 'The Healthy Chef' we can't get enough of. I had the pleasure of meeting Dan in NYC last year & it comes as no surprise he is the superstar that he is his. We spoke about: - Starting with the end in mind. - The adversity you are bound to face along the road to success. - The power of authenticity & why you should be a pioneer not a follower. - The value of self improvement. - & much more, in this compelling conversation. Enjoy the episode & be sure to follow us on socials @bradleyjdryburgh @dan_churchill (Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn) Follow/Subscribe to the show on your platform of choice, leave a 5 star rating & kind review to help us reach new listeners & uplift others like yourself around the world. It's a feminist themed family affair this week with two special guests - Caro's daughter Rose Donohoe and Corrie's daughter Francesca Carter. We get an insight into the lives of these 4 very different women - from Caro's Book Club weekend away and Corrie's speaking engagement at the State Library to Rose's music festival antics and Francesca's disastrous missed birthday bash.Hillary Clinton's recent 4 Corners interview inspires an interesting discussion on the role of women in power, feminist heroes and why feminism is perhaps perceived as a dirty word among younger women. With more revelations of sexual harassment - Harvey Weinstein is back on the agenda. In BSF (books, screen and food) Caro's been re reading Daphne du Maurier's "I'll Never Be Young Again", Corrie has a favourite new quiz show "Insert Name Here" Thursday night on ABC TV and Francesca share's a great recipe for Pumpkin Fruit Bread (courtesy of The Healthy Chef).Caro's a Grumpy Old Women because the ABC have axed another of her favourite shows - "The Book Club", and Corrie is cranky over the disappearance of The Age Form Guide. There's a footy inspired Crush of the Week for Caro and a simple but very handy Good Local Tip from Corrie.Don't forget to like the Don't Shoot The Messenger Facebook page, follow the show on twitter (@dontshootpod) and check out 'Caro and Corrie' on Instagram. Ricky Hirsch is the founder of Think Jerky, a beef jerky company that’s taking a health-conscious approach to our favorite meaty snack. Think has far less sugar and salt than typical jerky, it’s made using high-quality ingredients and meat — and it’s actually crafted by real chefs — Laurent Gras, a three-starred Michelin chef, Gail Gand, a two-time James Beard award winner and Food Network host, and Matt Troost, a Chicago Baconfest champion. Ricky and Think are also award winners in their own way. The company, which is less than a year old did $1 million in sales in their first 11 months. They were the fastest company ever into Starbucks and GNC, and they were one of the top five most backed food campaigns on Kickstarter. Plus, they’re donating 10% of all profits to the David Lynch Foundation, an organization focused around meditation. With accolades like this under their belt, you'd think they were a team of at least a dozen. Shockingly, it’s only Ricky and one other employee leading the charge (though they are hiring.) This is one company to keep an eye on because I think they’re about to do really big things. Full show notes: wecouldmakethat.com/jerky
