We do “adult” differently. We are That Black Couple. Our goal is to create a space for Black millennials to discuss and embody adult life on their own terms. We aren't beholden to “traditional” gender or parenting roles, queerness is fluid and present in the ways we show up in our relationships and in the world, and we want to build community with other 30-something Black folx who are trying to figure this ish out.

Listen to a new episode of YNS Live with NFL Thread recorded live on Fireside with hosts Juliet Hahn and Cynthia Zordich. This week YNS Live with NFL Thread talks OTF OCTOBER RUSH. Co-host and Vice President of OTFNFLWA Cynthia Zordich recaps a powerful 2022 for OTF, talk about the 2023 Super Bowl Fashion Show (Arizona) and to invite new and old members to take part in OTF's commitment to SERVE, SERVE, SERVE! And of course, Host Juliet Hahn will be there to ask the good, hard questions like, “Why do so many NFL players and spouses have service hearts?” “What did it feel like be released?” “How did you move your entire life across country, alone!” You know, those questions others are afraid to ask. Download the Fireside App today and follow YNS Live with NFL Thread and PIVOT. We dive deep into NFL stories and reveal the good people inside the game. Remarkable Quotes “To all current NFL spouses, I would like to share that OTF is a true sisterhood. We are here for you and want to help you navigate through your time in the league and beyond. The NFL is a circle and there is no end to it. There are so many phases - your rookie season, veteran years, transitioning out and life after the game. As you experience each - I promise you - you will find a friend or mentor in Off The Field that will help you along the way. That's what we do.” “The whole purpose of the fashion show is about community. It is to impact community. To find those non-profits, charities and initiatives that are important to that community and leave our mark. Like we did with the HollyRod Foundation in Santa Monica - raising over 75K for Parkinson's Disease and Autism. We have an entire committee devoted to choosing who we impact. We're already out there in Arizona finding those charities. So, when Off The Field leaves Super Bowl LVII - we will again leave our mark. We will again showcase what it looks and feels like when you do for others. To quote Karen Lott, “there's a lot of beautiful depth in the NFL,” and that comes from a service heart. I love that. We have a special Christmas event. Our season one finale is with actors Holly Robinson Peete and Nik Sanchez. They star in the new hit Hallmark Film: Our Christmas Journey. We sit down and talk about what it means to be a family around someone with autism. This move shows the love and truth one such family goes through in raising a son with autism. This is near to our hearts as both Ben and Dan relate to different sides of this very story. To find more about the film : https://www.hallmarkmoviesandmysterie... More on holly As a single mom and her teenaged son with autism come to a crossroad during Christmas, she must learn to let go so he can flourish as she finds her own heart healing in unexpected ways. Starring Holly Robinson Peete, Lyriq Bent and Nik Sanchez. Actress, author, talk show host, activist and philanthropist Holly Robinson Peete has been touched by the entertainment industry almost of her life. Her career as an actress dates back more than three decades and has led her to becoming a voice for her father, her son and her community. She was recently seen at the center of Hallmark Channel's new and very first primetime family docu-series, “Meet the Peetes,” which returned for its second season in February 2019. Peete also starred in five “Morning Show Mysteries” originals for Hallmark Mysteries & Movies, and recently co-starred in the Hallmark original movie “Christmas in Evergreen: Letters to Santa.” Robinson Peete had her first experience in front of the camera at the age of four when she appeared on television opposite her father, Matthew Robinson, who served as a producer and portrayed the original beloved character of Gordon on the iconic children's program “Sesame Street.” While she knew even at that young age her calling was to be an actress, Robinson Peete opted to lead a typical childhood rather than searching to be the next child star. In 1997, Robinson Peete and her husband, former NFL quarterback Rodney Peete, formed the HollyRod Foundation, inspired by her father's courageous battle with Parkinson's disease, with the mission to help improve the quality of life of people with Parkinson's. Then in 2005, inspired by their eldest son's autism diagnosis, HollyRod Foundation's mission expanded to provide support and resources to those affected by an autism diagnosis. Through the HollyRod Foundation and her family's personal experiences, Robinson Peete has become one of the most trusted advocates for consistent and reliable education, outreach and support for both Parkinson's and autism. Her autism advocacy also extends to her book co-written with daughter, Ryan Elizabeth Peete, entitled My Brother Charlie (Scholastic): a bestselling, NAACP Image Award-winning children's book about autism from the sibling's perspective. With her first book Get Your Own Damn Beer, I'm Watching the Game: A Women's Guide to Loving Pro Football (2005, Rodale), Robinson Peete won the 2006 Quill Literacy Award. The follow-up to the children's book entitled Same But Different - Teen Life On The Autism Express –- which was co-authored by her twins Ryan Elizabeth & RJ – was released in spring 2016. More on the rising star Nik Sanchez Nik Sanchez is a budding young actor who just shot a lead role in Boris Kodjoe's upcoming film Safe Space opposite Nicole Ari Parker. He can also be seen recurring as Silas March on the successful ABC series “The Rookie.”

This week's guest is the amazing, down-to-earth Holly Robinson Peete who you might recognize from her acting roles but has evolved through her personal experience into being a voice for her father, her son, and her community to become one of the most trusted advocates for consistent and reliable education, outreach and support for both Parkinson's and autism. Through Holly's father, Matthew Robinson, who served as producer and portrayed the original beloved character of 'Gordon' on the iconic children's program, "Sesame Street", Holly was exposed to the entertainment industry first-hand when as a four year-old, she appeared on television opposite her father. She knew at a young age that entertainment was her calling. Born in Philadelphia and raised in Los Angeles from the age of 10, Holly completed her undergraduate studies at the prestigious Sarah Lawrence College where she majored in Psychology and French. She spent her junior year studying abroad at Sorbonne University in France and became fluent in the language. Soon thereafter, with an introduction from her mother, powerhouse talent agent Delores Robinson, she landed a part opposite the newcomer Johnny Depp on the hit series, "21 Jump Street" and then went on to star in many other successful tv series including "Hangin' with Mr. Cooper" and "For Your Love". Holly has also been in thirteen Hallmark movies and, in early 2021, starred in the mystery mini-series, "Morning Show Mysteries" on Hallmark's Movies and Mysteries channel. In 1997, Holly and her husband, former NFL quarterback Rodney Peete, formed the HollyRod Foundation, inspired by her father's courageous battle with Parkinson's disease, with the mission to help improve the quality of life of people with Parkinson's. HollyRod's mission expanded to provide support and resources to those affected by autism after her eldest son was diagnosed. Most recently, the Foundation opened RJ's Place Vocational and Family Support Services Center in Los Angeles to provide training and job opportunities for young adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) as well as support services to their families free-of-charge. In this episode, Holly and long-time family friend, host Brad Johnson share memories of Holly's journey, her upbringing and arrival in LA as a child, meeting her handsome star quarterback husband and how 21 Jump Street launched her acting career. She also discusses forming of the Hollyrod Foundation including the good work it's doing and it's well-known annual fundraising event, travel abroad with Magic Johnson, LL Cool J and Samuel Jackson families this summer and, finally, how she balances her busy life! * * * Please follow @CornerTableTalk on Instagram and Facebook For more information on host Brad Johnson or to join our mailing list, please visit: https://postandbeamhospitality.com/ For questions or comments, please e.mail: info@postandbeamhospitality.comSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

After Holly and Rodney’s eldest son, RJ, was diagnosed with autism, HollyRod’s mission expanded to provide resources to families affected by an autism diagnosis. One in 68 children are diagnosed with autism every year. 50% of these children have extreme difficulty learning how to speak, while 25% of them never will. HollyRod launched the RJ’s Place grant in 2014 to provide assistive technology to children’s hospitals and autism centers. As these children grow, they require vocational training and specialized job placement assistance to transition to mainstream life and gainful employment. Our RJ’s Place grants now support toddlers to young adults in over a dozen locations across the U.S. and Canada with a dozen more scheduled by 2018. The HollyRod foundation is dedicated to providing compassionate care to those living with autism and Parkinson’s disease. We seek to fill an unmet need by providing compassionate care and services to underserved individuals and families that are burdened financially and emotionally by a diagnosis. We strive to help individuals live the best life possible. http://www.hollyrod.org

Actress, author, talk show host, activist and philanthropist Holly Robinson Peete has been touched by the entertainment industry almost of her life. Her career as an actress dates back more than three decades and has led her to becoming a voice for her father, her son and her community. Robinson Peete was most recently featured in the family docu-series “For Peete's Sake” on OWN, as well as in multiple episodes of “Chicago Fire.” Starting in February she will be seen at the center of Hallmark Channel's new primetime docusseries about her family, “Meet the Peetes.” She had a recurring role on hit comedy series “Mike & Molly,” which came shortly after successfully launching the CBS daily talk show “The Talk” as one of the original co-hosts. “The Talk” came on the heels of the enormous success Robinson Peete had on the third season of NBC's “Celebrity Apprentice.” Making it all the way to the finals, Robinson Peete set a fundraising record for her charity, HollyRod Foundation, and in so doing placed the national spotlight on two causes very personal to the Peete Family: autism and Parkinson's disease.
