Henneke didn't see herself as a writer. She didn't even think she was creative. In school, English was her worst subject. The next was Dutch, her first language. Henneke never kept a journal, never wrote a poem, never published anything. Later in life, she realised there wasn't that much magic about writing, and discovered a passion that led her to some amazing achievements: - Publishing “Blog to Win Business,” a book that was recommended as a must read for business writers by Inc.com and HuffingtonPost. - Landing an interview with Inc.com and Forbes.com on the topic of seductive writing. - Being named one of “50 Incredible Women in Marketing to Follow” by Search Engine Journal. - Writing for Sally Hogshead, a Hall of Fame speaker. Today Henneke describes herself as an "irreverent writer and educator on a mission to stamp out gobbledygook." Her courses, books, and clean-looking blog -- Enchanting Marketing -- teach both first and second language English writers how to improve their writing skills. What can we all learn about writing, blogging, and engaging storytelling from Henneke? YOU - The Master Entrepreneur - A Guide to True Greatness with Stan Hustad
It's good when Grace, God ,and good fortune come together and you have a great experience even in the midst of the mess of life, often times difficulties in business, and for sure the world is in a mess today. I had the good fortune today to go to a Rotary meeting here in North Carolina and it was great. The people running the meeting know what they're doing and they do it well and the guest speaker was a wonderful woman who actually grew up in the community and was what is called a ACE child ... And contrary to what you might expect that is not a good thing, so listen to the program and find out what ACE means. Like you I've had more than my share of boring meetings but this was truly an inspiring touch your heart presentation by a young African-American woman who came from a difficult situation, and is now an incredible leader not only in her community, but serving an inspiring role in the state of North Carolina. And I was like a lot of the people in the audience, we just couldn't help but smile almost the whole time. And in concluding her great presentation she gave thanks to the plan of God and to all of the people, and in particular to my friend, who had been with others such an influence in helping her become a significant person of influence. And afterward I walked up to her and said the world needs to hear your story and you need to have a bigger audience. And so please listen to that story today and then perhaps you know of someone who needs a bigger audience, and maybe that someone is you

One of my biggest passions is sharing stories of women forging their own path in business and in life. Women pursuing motherhood and ambition simultaneously. We all do this so differently & I find it incredibly inspiring and comforting to know that there's no one right way to juggle all the different pieces. We can learn so much form each other - even if that's identifying what we DON'T want. Over the past few months I've been speaking with Virtual Assistants across Australia and the world. This is some of their stories. We'll be releasing one episode per day, for 5 days. I hope you enjoy meeting each one as much as I did. If not in her office servicing clients, you will find her in the garden tending to vegetables and chickens, in the kitchen baking some sweet treats for her children or relaxing with a book. Please enjoy!

This week's guest is Anika Orrock, author and illustrator of "The Incredible Women of the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League." For many, the AAGPBL was brought to light by the movie "A League of Their Own," directed by Penny Marshall and starring Tom Hanks, Geena Davis and Madonna. "A League of Their Own" was entertaining, funny and told the story of an important moment in female sports history in this country. The movie was a box office success, becoming the highest grossing baseball movie of all-time. But that's Hollywood, the true story of the AAGPBL is equally as fascinating as the movie, and Orrock's wonderful book truly captures the spirit of the pioneering ladies who played baseball in this league. Our conversation ranges from a discussion of the hoops these ladies had to jump through in order to play the game they loved, including having to attend charm school, take beauty lessons and where skirts while playing, to a chat about the long-term impact and legacy of the AAGPFL women when it comes to advancing sports opportunities for girls and women. Those who like baseball and inspiring stories about underdogs in sports should enjoy listening to Orrock's tales of the AAGPBL.
I have a huge appreciation for the women who in my life. And for as long as I have a platform, I'll do my best to highlight and place the spotlight on as many female voices as I can. Not just on International Women's Day, but year round… As we approach International Women's Day which is set to take place this coming Tuesday, I thought I'd take the opportunity to highlight the voice of some of the incredible women I'm currently working with or have worked with in the past. I asked these amazing women two questions… ‘What's the best lesson you've learnt during your health and fitness journey?' ‘Why would you encourage other women to commit to their health and fitness?' And you'll hear their responses in today's episode. The beauty of this episode is that the range of women is so diverse, all with different perspectives, goals and circumstances, so I have no doubt you'll resonate with many of the messages you hear today. And to the men who will be listening, these insights aren't exclusive to women, these women have incredible perspectives that we can all take something away from! P.S. A heartfelt thank you to all the ladies who participated in today's episode, it means a lot. In this episode of “The Journey of My Mother's Son” podcast, I sit down to talk with a fellow author and storyteller, Anika Orrock. This podcast was truly an honor and surprise for me, I've followed Anika and her work on social media for quite some time. I had no idea that she would be attending the Baseball for All Nationals until our mutual friend, Donna Eden Cohen had let me know. Knowing that she was on a tight schedule, I still didn't know if we'd be able to do an interview. As it turned out, the Lord had everything align for us and she was willing to squeeze in a quick chat. Anika is an award-winning illustrator, writer, designer, cartoonist, storyteller & author of The Incredible Women of the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League (March 10, 2020; Chronicle Books) and the illustrator of “Birdie Can, Too!” by Malaika Underwood (Feb. 2, 2021). Anika's work is included in the Society of Illustrators 62nd Annual exhibition & book and has been featured in national publications, including The New York Times, The San Francisco Chronicle, Washington Post and on NPR. Her illustration work has been commissioned by The Worcester Art Museum, National Pastime Museum, ABC News & FiveThirtyEight, Merrill Lynch, Resy & American Express, The International Women's Baseball Center, All-American Girls Professional Baseball League Players Association, Major League Baseball organizations and international sports publications, as well as by a variety of musicians and record labels.

Friends, WELCOME BACK TO THE CHRISTIAN GIRL'S TEA PODCAST!! I'm Anna, and if you couldn't tell, I'm very excited you're here:) I'm pumped because of a few reasons. This is our first two-part episode here on TCGTP. Why? Because I asked some women that I admire to answer the question, "How do you spend time with God on your own?" I had a good amount of women respond, so I needed to make this a two-part episode, just so all of them can pour into you! Kim shares about the incredible women in her life that made a difference and helped her to become the entrepreneur that she is today. Have you ever looked at a blank computer screen in frustration because the words won't come because you are afraid it won't sound right? Or worse, that it won't be received well? Kim spent many years feeling that way after a teacher told Kim that she was, “No good at writing and should stop.” Discouraged, Kim put writing aside. Then, she came to a crossroads in her life and let those painful words go. She set her words free and let her voice to be heard once more. Since then, she has gone on to author five books (with three more on the way this year), two planners and even a collection of Sudoku books. Most importantly, Kim started RTI Publishing and has helped over one hundred entrepreneurs to become authors and taught them how to use their books to become authorities in their niche and open doors to build their business faster. Kim understands the power of words and can't wait to share them with you on the podcast. Want a free sample of Kim's newest book Author To Authority coming out in 2020? A lot of women's history remains untold, distorted, or fragmented. There are so many women who have had a huge impact on the world, but who the majority of people know nothing about. To reclaim these stories, Anita Sarkeesian and Ebony Adams wrote a book called History vs. Women, which profiles 25 remarkable women throughout history. They are rebels, rulers, scientists, artists, warriors and villains. VICE's Executive Editor Dory Carr-Harris spoke with both authors on this episode of The Vice Guide to Right Now.
