Just how grave a threat to the future health and happiness - and even the survival - of humanity is the intensification of social media-driven culture wars and the intractable rise of artificial intelligence into every area of our lives?Liv Boeree, the Win-Win podcast host, science broadcaster, World Series of Poker and European Poker Tour champion, and co-founder of Raising for Effective Giving, details to Unfiltered host Joe Warner why she believes the next two decades are among most dangerous and destiny-defining time for our species since we climbed down from the trees and took our first steps on the savanna. In a fascinating and wide-ranging conversation Liv explains how Molochian forces on social media networks are hellbent on manipulating us, first as individuals in a race to the bottom as we seek validation from complete strangers to praise our perfect bodies, jobs, relationships and lives that bear little resemblance to reality. And manipulating us as a society into evermore vocal tribes to fuel the culture war fires and treat anyone we encounter online as a terminal threat to our indubitable worldview.Liv also reveals her extensive conversations with AI experts working behind the scenes on the technology and how every single one of them has confided their grave concerns over the potential catastrophic capabilities of AI's power and influence if its current growth trajectory continues unchecked. She outlines her fears for the future of our species, and the planet, if AI is allowed to continue its meteoric rise into every aspect of our lives without any oversight, limitations or jurisdiction.Liv also outlines what she believes need to happen - and soon - in a co-ordinated strategy of governments and corporations - to guarantee the safety of our species and ensure AI becomes the life-extending and existence-enhancing technology we want, and not the totalitarian paper-clip maker of our worst nightmares. But it's not all bad news. As Liv explains, some simple steps - taken by you as an individual and collectively as a society - can walk us back from the edge of the abyss. And there's even a hope that all the new powers that exist thanks to the advent of new technology could herald a utopian future for every single one of us.Watch our full interview with Liv Boeree here: https://unfilteredonline.com/liv-boeree-ai-is-an-existential-threat-to-humanity-and-needs-coordinated-control/For exclusive access to all Unfiltered's video interviews, features and documentaries visit https://unfilteredonline.com/Get in touch in the comments below or talk to us on:Email: editorial@unfilteredonline.comYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCGSV7XVaBYUYq5YidLI12owInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/unfiltered.extraTwitter: https://twitter.com/UnfilteredExtra

It doesn't take long once you start your own journey towards a fitter, stronger and healthier body that you encounter the name Kris Gethin. The coach, editor, author and entrepreneur has been an ever-present in the global fitness world for the past three decades and a constant voice of authority, innovation and motivation in an industry prone to fads, frauds and quick-fix fallacies. Amongst his peers, and indeed to anyone who knows anything about lifting, training and realising your potential, Gethin garners nothing but the utmost respect, praise and admiration for his countless contributions to the global fitness conversation. His career has been defined by relentless pursuit and adaptation. His journey from the rugged coastlines of Wales to the top of fitness entrepreneurship, has included sculpting the physiques of amateurs, elites and professionals. But it is as a writer, editor and author - he edited the hugely successful bodybuilding.com at its most influential - that Gethin has forged a legacy that extends beyond the gym walls, reaching into and improving the lives of millions of people around the world with his impactful and pragmatic approach to health and wellness. In a wide-ranging and in-depth conversation with Unfilteredonline.com editor Joe Warner, Gethin shares the lessons he's learned over the years - many the hard way - that have invaluably shaped and informed his philosophy on life and lifting. He describes the “fork in the road” moment that led to his escape from a life of drink, drugs and criminality. He reveals the career-defining decisions he navigated with a blend of instinct and integrity that took him first to travelling around the world on cruise ships - first as a personal trainer, then as a masseuse (because the passengers tipped the massage guy more than the gym trainer) - to Australia where he opened his first gym, before landing in LA to work for the biggest fitness magazines in the world. And he discusses some of the biggest issues facing the fitness industry today, including the rise of social media influencers unqualified to offer health advice; the prevalence of performance-enhancing drugs in leading Hollywood and Bollywood icons, as well as regular gym goers; and how the impact of the bio-hacking movement, with its ice baths and sunlight staring, has changed our understanding of the big pillars of health and wellbeing. To be labelled as the UK's "most outrageous" doctor takes some doing. But for Dr Asher Larmie - the self-styled “Fat Doctor” and a transmasculine weight-inclusive GP - his decision to actively court criticism and controversy is all part of his plan to raise awareness and ignite debate to combat weight stigma and promote weight-inclusive care.Indeed, if you follow him on Instagram you'll be fully aware of the many controversial and contrarian positions he takes around nutrition, weight management, diet culture and other divisive issues closely linked to body composition, disease prevention and physical and mental health.Yet, like so much of what you see and hear on social media, should you really take everything at face value? For instance, does Dr Larmie really believe that the food you eat has no impact on whether you gain or lose weight? Does he genuinely think that most people are incapable of losing weight, and even if they do are destined to put it all back on - with more besides - to leave them in bigger and heavier than when they started? And if so, isn't this just because motivation, discipline and adherence drops off after initial weight-loss stalls, rather than a physiological inability of humans to consistently lose weight over the long term?Joe Warner sat down with The Fat Doctor to discover what he really believes about diet, nutrition, body composition, weight and fat stigma, what is just a show for social media, and why he is subject to an on-going General Medical Council investigation into his suitability to practice medicine. And as more and more people discover him and his fat-positive and body-positivity views that being overweight is not inherently unhealthy, we asked him whether he is at all concerned that he might be wrong, and so therefore encouraging followers to give up any aspirations of losing excess body weight which could lead them to an early grave? Joe Wicks is the biggest health and fitness social media personality in the world. Others influencers may have more followers.Others may have made more money. But no one has crossed over in mainstream consciousness like The Body Coach. After all, name another social media star who's been able to get your parents and your kids moving more and eating better. With his friendly, engaging and approachable demeanour Joe has empowered millions of people across the world to take better care of their physical health and mental wellbeing. While his online influence has been remarkable, it's his real-world impact on the UK's health and fitness that is unprecedented. He has sold more than 3 million books since his first book was released in 2015, breaking countless best-seller records in the process. But his biggest impact - and one he already accepts will be his enduring legacy, no matter what else he now does - is helping to get the UK through the darkest days of the COVID-19 pandemic. In response to the closing of almost every single section of society, Joe took the decision to do something positive in the most negative moment many of us have ever experienced. With parents and children housebound, he launched his PE With Joe daily exercise classes on YouTube, completely free to access for all. It was a runaway success with more than 100m global views. He was awarded a Guinness World Record after 955,000 people tuned in to one workout, helping to raise more than £500,000 for the NHS. His extraordinary efforts were recognised later that year when he was honoured with MBE for services to fitness and charity.Joe's story from park personal trainer to health policy influencer is even more remarkable because while millions of people feel like they know him, not many know about some of the many challenges he's had to overcome - including growing up in a council estate with parents battling addiction and mental health issues - to build the career and life he loves so much.To discover how he's done it, and what comes next, Unfiltered editor Joe Warner met the park PT who used social media to become one of the best-selling authors of the century, and is now using the power and influence of their platform to campaign tirelessly that more time, money and effort be spent improving the physical and mental health of the nation's children. In his most candid interview to date, Joe opens up about how first fame and then fatherhood changed him; how he deals with press intrusion and online abuse, criticism and trolling; how he overcame his own mental health issues, and why he spends hours each day on his phone talking to his followers battling their own demons; why he turned down a multi-million pound food endorsement; why he rejected Boris Johnson's offer to front an NHS fitness campaign; and why he would never promote any type of weight-loss drug, even if he were offered £10m a year to do so.Watch the full interview at unfilteredonline.com/joe-wicks-under-the-skin-exclusive-interviewGet in touch in the comments below or talk to us on:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/unfiltered.extraTwitter: https://twitter.com/UnfilteredExtraEmail: editorial@unfilteredonline.com
In the social media age, some subjects are so incendiary it's much easier to stay quiet than speak out. Take, for example, sex and gender, transgender sport, and toxic masculinity. But some conversations are so important they shouldn't take place in private, even if the repercussions can cost you your friends, your job or your career.Indeed, for society to move forward, and the rights of everyone to be considered, these conversations have to happen in public.Dr Carole Hooven, former associate at the Harvard Department of Psychology and author of "Testosterone, the Hormone that Dominates and Divides Us", has fearlessly spoken up on the biggest issues around biology and behaviour. And it has had profound professional and personal consequences. In our exclusive Unfiltered conversation Dr Hooven explains to Joe Warner exactly what it feels like to be “cancelled”, how her colleagues deserted her in her hour of need, and why a cancel culture society, in which anyone can be ostracised from their career, job and friends for expressing not just an opinion, but established facts, is a real and genuine threat to a thriving liberal democracy. For exclusive access to all Unfiltered's video interviews, features and documentaries visit https://unfilteredonline.com/Get in touch in the comments below or talk to us on:Email: editorial@unfilteredonline.comYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCGSV7XVaBYUYq5YidLI12owInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/unfiltered.extraTwitter: https://twitter.com/UnfilteredExtra

Joe Warner is a salesman, but one of the few I feel is really trying to agent the right way. It's a hard industry and I really enjoy chatting to him and extracting the myriad experiences he has from the management side and working side of the covers music industry. I've worked for Joe as an artist and for the agency (before realising it's hard work and largely thankless). It was sadly a bit rushed due to having limited time but we will definitely do one again!
Joe is an actor and writer from Wales now living the dream in London cruising the cut on his canal boat Paragon. He lives for his peoples and believes we all have the power to change the world!
This week it's time to get spooky with two horror films from Solomon Chase and Joe Warner. Solomon is fighting for our tyrannical host, Matt Dodd, to watch his indie sci-fi horror. While Joe looks to the past with a classic horror franchise starter with the original 1974 Texas Chainsaw Massacre. What will Matt choose? Will he be biased for personal reasons? Will there be awkward silences? All that and more with Cube vs Texas Chainsaw Massacre on this week's episode of Film Fights. Hear how he managed the transformation in such a short period of time, why changing being a vegetarian to a meat eater helped and how al you need to do is 4 hours training per week if it is the right kind. Live Life Aggressively Podcast w/Mike Mahler & Sincere Hogan
Jon Lipsey & Joe Warner (http://ironlifemag.com) left a couple of cush gigs at Men's FItness Magazine UK, at the height of taking the magazine to it's best publication years in history, only to start from square one with their own "digital-only" fitness publication. What would prompt these guys to make such a ballsy move, with no guarantees in an industry over-saturated with many well-known fitness magazines in print version, in order to make a name for themselves in a still relatively new world of digital-only magazine publications? Both Jon & Joe share how they plan to give the finger to the old way of publishing successful fitness magazines, and help pioneer the movement to take the fitness publishing industry forward and make their platform more accessible to the most popular technological mediums utilized today. Be sure to download and listen in, as we discuss these topics, as well as the following: Why did Jon & Joe leave Men's Fitness UK & did it have anything to do with creating their own fitness publication What separates IronLife Magazine from most major conventional fitness magazines Where does your conventional fitness magazine fall short and why What type of trainee does IronLife target and why it may be the perfect fit for LLA podcast listeners What are the challenges of producing a digital fitness magazine based on a paid subscription model & why the guys chose to make IronLife a digital-only publication Need sex advice or shaving tips from your fitness magazine? Well.... How do the guys deal with issues of piracy or free distribution of their magazine Who are some of the high-level coaches involved in the production of IronLife magazine Why the definition of "being transparent" is taking on double meaning in today's fitness industry Why you won't find cookie-cutter meal plans or training plans in IronLife Magazine & how you can download a free issue now All this and much more:Listen and download at http://strengthbymahler.com or http://newwarriortraining.com. or subscribe, download, rate & review us at:iTunes: https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/live-life-aggressively-podcast/id646524617 Stitcher: http://www.stitcher.com/s?fid=34706&refid=stprAlso, be sure to "like" and connect with us on our Facebook fan page at http://facebook.com/llapodcast.
