Il avait battu le record de la Hardrock 100 l'an dernier, détenu par le GOAT Kilian Jornet. Mais ce n'était pas suffisant pour Ludovic Pommeret : le français de 49 ans s'est imposé pour la deuxième année consécutive ! Un doublé devant Mathieu Blanchard et Germain Grangier, dans le sens anti-horaire. L'ultra-traileur raconte au micro de Benoit Boutron et Yohan Durand sa course folle dans le Colorado, sa préparation pour ce monument de 100 miles et la suite de sa saison. 

À 49 ans, Ludovic Pommeret continue d'écrire sa légende. Dans les hauteurs du Colorado, l'inoxydable Savoyard a survolé la redoutable Hardrock 100 pour la deuxième année consécutive, bouclant les 160 kilomètres et 10 000 mètres de dénivelé en 22h21.Derrière lui, Mathieu Blanchard et Germain Grangier complètent un podium 100 % tricolore, illustrant la domination actuelle des Français en ultra.Dans cet épisode, retour sur une course hors normes, des moments de bascule comme la prise de tête au km 70 à Animas Forks, jusqu'à l'image iconique de Pommeret embrassant le rocher du finish.

We sat down gingerly on bruised glutes before this awesome episode! The main topic was on fueling data coming out of the Tour de France. High carb is ubiquitous in the cycling peloton. Le vainqueur de la Diagonale des fous 2024 venait tout juste de réussir son défi d'aider sa grande amie, la championne québécoise - et membre de la bande - Marianne Hogan a monté une seconde fois sur le podium du mythique 100 miles Californien en assurant son pacing sur la dernière partie du parcours. Dans cette troisième partie de la série Sur les sentiers de la Hardrock, je vous raconte notre route entre Denver et Silverton, puis j'accueille deux invités de marque. Ludovic Pommeret n'a plus besoin d'introduction dans le monde du trail : il roule sa bosse depuis longtemps et a remporté l'UTMB (2016) et la Diagonale des Fous (2021), parmi tant d'autres. Après avec agit comme pacer pour le gagnant de l'édition 2023 de la Hardrock, Aurélien Dunand-Pallaz, Ludo est de retour à Silverton pour courir sa première Hardrock. À l'opposé, mon second invité, Chris Twiggs, amorcera sa 17e Hardrock cette année.
