Guy was hit by a car on the day of covid lockdown in LA, and woke up to a totally different world, and inner reality. Obviously the physical healing of this accident was super hard and scary, but he learned a new purpose for his music, and found an aural healing modality that he calls Personalized Sonic Talismans. He created one for me, and I highly recommend it!! It's music he creates and channels specifically for you, and for me It created sort of a safety egg around my entire body, below my feet and above my head, and brought me absolute peace! I'll add his info in the show notes! The ninth episode of The Vineyard Podcast W/ Derek James (The Entrance Band, Mazzy Star, The Pesos) "Just a few years ago, Entrance was one person: Guy Blakeslee, a Baltimore-born, Chicago-based guitarist. Blakeslee cut his teeth on Fat Possum acoustic blues then graduated into full rock auteurdom with Prayer of Death, a crazy-ass collection of psychedelic guitar scribbling and acid howls. For his follow-up, he has joined forces with drummer Derek W. James and bass player Paz Lenchantin (both of whom played on Prayer) as the Entrance Band, and the rhythm section + lead guitar equation is meant to recall the Jimi Hendrix Experience. This reconfiguration from lone troubadour to bandleader is a bit confounding: Prayer of Death filtered Bay Area psych rock and Chicago-style electric blues into an idiosyncratic and compelling mishmash, and with what seemed at the time like an unwavering devotion to a peculiar vision, he most certainly didn't sound like someone who would play well with others." THE FAIRLY ODDPARENTS: FAIRLY ODDER will pick up years after the original ended by following Timmy Turner's cousin, Vivian “Viv” Turner, and her new stepbrother, Roy Raskin, as they navigate life in Dimmsdale with the help of their fairy godparents, Wanda and Cosmo. Susanne Blakeslee voices the fairy Wanda, the slightly more responsible, pragmatic and better half of Cosmo. She's got every inch of enthusiasm, excitement and energy as her husband... but Wanda is smart enough to tell Viv & Roy that actions have consequences. And then, ignores them because she's in this to have a good time too! Daran Norris voices the fairy Cosmo, who is a whirlwind of energy and the husband of Wanda. He rips through Viv & Roy's life with a combination of optimism, fun and the slightly dangerous inability to see any repercussions to his actions. Aside from the fact that he's pure fairy magic, Cosmo's biggest power is his sense of fun. He's all impulse. Everything is brand-new and exciting to him, even if he's done it four thousand times.
