After nearly 150 episodes, the CarExpert Podcast is getting an update. Launching in the coming weeks, the new Podcast will be available as an audio stream through your favourite podcast provider as is currently the case – but it'll also be published on YouTube for the first time. Like any good automotive update, we haven't thrown the old format away entirely. Instead, we've taken the bits we know people loved and refined them, and thrown away some of the things regular listeners didn't like. Call it the Porsche 911 approach. That means you'll still be getting the latest news, reviews, and opinions about the motoring world. And where most facelifts come with a price rise in the motoring world, the CarExpert Podcast is still free... With this change, Mandy Turner will be leaving the CarExpert team for now. We'd like to thank Mandy for her audio expertise, professional presenter's voice, and unwavering enthusiasm. If you ever see a beige Beetle on Melbourne roads, make sure to check if it's her. If you see one parked on the side of the road with oil spilling out, chances are it's definitely her. This year, the theme is 'each for equal', taking action for equality. We still have a long way to go in the automotive industry for gender parity, but we are getting there. Organisations like Women in Automotive are helping, making ladies feel supported and giving them a chance to network within the sector, to make them feel they are not alone in a male-dominated industry. On March 5, Women in Automotive held a breakfast to celebrate International Women's Day, with a Women in Motorsport theme. On stage were a panel of guests, including 2016 Australian Rally Car champion, Molly Taylor, COO of Triple Eight Red Bull Racing, Jessica Dane, and motorsport reporter and RPM co-host, Kate Peck. Jessica and Kate joined Mandy Turner for an International Women's Day podcast, where you'll get an insight into a day-in-the-life of them at the racetrack, why motorsport makes them tick, and how they made the transition to their chosen career.

Book launch for 'From the River to the Sea: Palestine and Israel in the Shadow of “Peace”' and discussion chaired by Dr Toufic Haddad. Can anything new really be written about the century-old conflict over Palestine and the Oslo ‘peace process’ since 1993? This book proves that it can. By focusing in on specific communities, each of the contributors provide original analyses of how the past 25 years extended and solidified the power imbalance between Israelis and Palestinians under the auspices of ‘peace.’ But these chapters also chart the new forms of political expression, interaction, and mobilisation, as well as different coping strategies, that also developed during this time. Four of the book contributors will discuss their chapters – on Palestinian communities in East Jerusalem and Israel (Mansour Nasasra), on the economy of Occupied Palestinian Territory (Raja Khalidi), and on Israeli politics and society (Yonatan Mendel). The editor will introduce the main themes and rationale for the book, and her won chapter on international aid (Mandy Turner). About the speakers: Mandy Turner is the Director of CBRL Kenyon Institute. Mansour Nasasra is a scholar of International Relations and Middle East Politics. His research has focused on the Negev/Naqab Bedouin, their experiences under British colonialism, as well as their place in the Palestinian struggle. Yonatan Mendel is a Middle East history and politics scholar whose research focuses on the Arabic language and the place of Arabic in Israel over the last century. He also writes about Israeli politics. This lecture was hosted by CBRL Kenyon Institute in collaboration with the Educational Bookshop and Dar Al-Tifel Al-Arabi on 28 November 2019.
