El Skoda Superb estrena cuarta generación cargada de tecnología, con una gama mecánica muy completa donde podemos elegir gasolina, Diésel, micro hibrido y un híbrido enchufable con 133 kilómetros de autonomía eléctrica. Y con un precio de lanzamiento de 40.850 euros en la versión 1.5 tsi micro híbrida de 150 CV. En 2001 llegaba la primera generación de esta gran berlina, y como aquella, en esta cuarta generación llega con dos carrocerías, una familiar (combi) y el formato tradicional, berlina. Con un diseño continuista, esta nueva generación del Skoda Superb nos sorprende por la carga tecnología, en el interior, además de mucho espacio nos encontramos un cockpit de 10 pulgadas tras un volante moderno de dos radios y una pantalla central de 13 pulgadas. El sistema multimedia, compatible tanto con Apple CarPlay como con Android Auto. Cuando hablamos de Superb, hablamos de un gran maletero, presume esta nueva generación de 645 litros en la berlina y 690 en el familiar. El Skoda Superb se ofrece con motores de gasolina, micro híbrido, diésel y un híbrido enchufable. De entre los primeros el acceso lo marca la única mecánica micro híbrida a la venta, que es un 1.5 litros turbo con 150 caballos de potencia. Por encima están los motores gasolina TSI 2.0 con 204 y 265 caballos. Además, el motor más potente se vende con tracción a las cuatro ruedas, mientras que el resto son de tracción delantera. 2024 is going to be full of exciting new cars and SUVs. Few that we have known about for a long time, some that are new. Editor Sirish Chandran and Assistant Editor Aatish Mishra discuss about these upcoming cars and SUVs of 2024. Starting with the hotly anticipated Volkswagen Polo, followed by the new Virtus GT Manual. They also discuss the Tata Curvv, which will come in as an EV as well as ICE. The police have unveiled the newest addition to their vehicle fleet. The Skoda Superb will slowly replace the Holdens which have patrolled our streets for many, many decades, with the full roll out happening over the next five years. Twenty-seven new car options were put forward for consideration, and 12 were eventually tested by the police. The Czech automaker ended up securing pole position on the police's check list. Police deputy commissioner Jevon McSkimming took reporter Ben Strang and camera operator Dom Thomas out for a spin in the new car.

With Holden leaving the market, Australia police forces have chosen a range of different alternatives. Now NZ police have taken a direction similar to Europe more than Australia. They will be replacing their Holden fleet with Skodas built in the Czech Republic. The specific model is the Skoda Superb station wagon in either the 162KW 2WD or 206KW all wheel drive layout. NZ has some 2000 primary response vehicles currently and they saw Holden's withdrawal as an opportunity to reduce carbon emissions and ensure value for money across their fleet. When frontline staff tested the Skodas they liked the large, wide-opening doors, easy-to-read instruments, front and rear visibility, and the space for rear passengers Electric and hybrid vehicles were tested, but limitations including power efficiency and the total cost of ownership meant they were not the preferred option.
