Cleveland Browns general manager Andrew Berry pulled off a steal of a move for his team this weekend, so now Browns fans what to know is another one coming? It's possible but it feels like the move would be coming free agency. Shelby Harris and Matt Ioannidis, are two veterans who could fine significant roles with this team. Time will tell if either come to fruition. With the advent of the 2022 NFL season, HTTD's Rajan Nanavati and Pat Rice reconvene for their annual two-part preview of the professional football team in Washington (now known as the Commanders). In Part 1, they discuss the defense. They start with the secondary, including Rajan's irrational disdain for one of Washington's starters at the spot (3:03) and the top heavy but thin-on-depth cornerback spot (10:57). Next up is linebacker, in which they discuss the baffling trend of that position remaining the worst group on the team (22:40). Then they move onto the defensive line, talking about Montez Sweat being primed for a monster season after all the adversity he dealt with last year (33:17), DaRon Payne (maybe) still having long-term potential to remain in Washington as he also looks primed for a huge year (37:38), and if former defensive line coach Sam Mills was the reason that Matt Ioannidis left Washington. Finally, they wrap things up with a discussion of the lack of schematic diversity from Jack Del Rio (aka Dustup Del Rio aka MAGA Jack), and whether he finds himself on the hot seat at the end of the 2022 season (47:02).
The Washington Commanders have already made their big splash in the offseason by trading for quarterback Carson Wentz. The boys from Ref The District look at who the Commanders signed such as Troy Apke, Tyler Larsen, Bobby McCain, Cam Sims and surprisingly, JD McKissic. The team lost several players to free agency and cap cuts. All Pro guard Brandon Scherff signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars and steady backup defensive tackle Tim Settle signed with the Buffalo Bills. Matt Ioannidis and Ereck Flowers were surprisingly cut. Landon Collins was cut with a June 1st designation. Are these good moves? Do you expect more moves? The Commanders have more than $10.5M in cap space. Don Chenz and Casey Drake begin the show by discussing Chenz's Carolina Panthers fandom after Matt Ioannidis signs with the team, March Madness. The guys then reveal a new segment called "Verbal Tweets," which include the invention of dribbling in basketball, clients that hit "reply" instead of "reply all," and whether or not it's gay to help your friend look for an apartment. Chenz's Corner of the Internet includes Match Day posts all over social media for people in med school, and the Senate passing a bill to make Daylight Savings time permanent. Running back J.D. McKissic reversed his decision to join the Buffalo Bills, and will stay with the Washington Commanders instead, bringing back a critical part of the offense for 2022. The news goes downhill from there, however, as the team decided to move on from Ereck Flowers, Matt Ioannidis, and Deshazor Everett, while waiting until after June 1st to officially release Landon Collins, saving nearly $20 million in salary cap space. Hear That Podcast Growlin': A show about the Cincinnati Bengals
Despite Cincinnati not being overly immersed in NFL Candy Crush at the start of the new league year (swapping saccharine assets in such a manner for one's gain), the AFC, as a whole, is accumulating a ludicrous amount of talent. Paul and Jay analyze the conference's additions, and how '22 is building up to be a "blood bath" in the Bengals' half of the league. The free market isn't dried up yet; however, is Cincy's approach to this talent-acquiring period too passive? The duo discusses. Plus, the guys highlight potential free agent targets for Cincy, including Matt Ioannidis. Standig Room Only: A show about the Washington Football Team and D.C. sports
The Athletic's Ben Standig is right back on the mic with guest Nicki Jhabvala (Washington Post) after a bonkers day with the Washington Commanders. Ben opens the show with a quick transactional recap including J.D. McKissic changing his mind to and staying with the Commanders, multiple surprise releases (Matt Ioannidis?) and angry agents. Then Nicki enters the fray (7:45). Topics include moving on from Ioannidis and Ereck Flowers. Is the team making these post-Carson Wentz trade moves with a plan or haphazardly? There are also some positives like McKissic and Cam Sims staying. Plus Ben and Nicki ponder what the team does with their new cap space -- and react to live breaking news!
While in the middle of imploring someone to see if Ron Rivera is awake, we found out on air that Matt Ioannidis will not be back to the Commanders for salary cap reasons. Bummer.
Sometimes not taking an action is the right action. That is great wisdom if you are trying to be calm in the face of adversity. However, it is not the best move if you are in charge of an NFL team and their roster and off-season. Reese needs to know where this guy is and what he is doing.
The great Michael Jenkins joins Reese Waters to discuss the upcoming tournament and where he should bet his money. Everyone in sports media has anxiety about brackets and fantasy because the reality is, we are just as prone as anyone else to not knowing anything. Plus! More Commanders calls!
JP Finlay, Mitch Tischler and Pete Hailey's heads are spinning after a wacky Wednesday for Washington. You know about the stars like Chase Young, Montez Sweat, Da'Ron Payne and Jonathan Allen, but what does the return of Matt Ioannidis mean? Can James Smith-Williams make a push for more playing time? And what about rookies Wiliam Bradley-King and Penn State's Shaka Toney? Finally, thanks to a listener voicemail we're talking about our Top-3 WFT players on each side of the ball, and we're picking a wild card on top of it all! Chase Young, Montez Sweat, William Jackson III, Jamin Davis, and Benjamin St-Juste are named from the defense. JP Finlay, Mitch Tischler and Pete Hailey are back, but they don't waste too much time at the start of this Washington Football Talk because they want you to hear JP's newest 1-on-1 with Ron Rivera. In that interview, JP and Ron go back-and-forth about how Dwayne Haskins is performing, and Rivera brings up a very intriguing part of his past that could impact how much more time he gives his young QB. When that wraps, the trio returns to give their thoughts on what the coach told JP. Then, they move on to reacting to Matt Ioannidis' likely season-ending injury (how big of a deal is it?) as well as Chase Young's far less severe but still concerning groin issue. And, to close, they go through another segment of F Us. If you like podcasts where JP, Mitch and Pete reflect on their experience with an NBC Podcast Taskforce and JP gets upset with the Falcons, the Bears and cashiers, then this is the episode for you.

It’s been an excruciatingly long offseason, and it’s added insult to injury the Porkcast crew has had to refrain from enjoying each other’s shared company — but never fear, Zoom has our back as we return for the first of many offseason digital get-togethers. On this week’s episode we dive in to the recently announced Vegas lines for each opponent next season, and to put it lightly the oddsmakers don’t seem to have a lot of confidence in your 2020 Washington Redskins. The Redskins are favored to win just two games this year and are double digit underdogs five different times including a matchup at home against the Ravens. Our Porkcast veteran gamblers Beege Roomba and Nedbot Neal offer their impressions of the Vegas negativity, and share their strategies when it comes to gambling on the Redskins, while Dr. Jones declines to engage in such antics both out of principle and due to emotional ties. Moving on to roster news, Ron Rivera reunited with a familiar face in quarterback Kyle Allen, and we break down our impressions of what this addition says about the Redskins confidence with Dwayne Haskins, and similarly the direction they’re going to take going forward developing their second-year draft pick. Neal shares his willful ignorance about the upcoming draft, Bryan is all in on a defensive line that could feature Montez Sweat, Jonathan Allen, Matt Ioannidis, and Chase Young, while Chris shares his reflections of watching his Clemson Tiger take on Tua Tagovailoa. Finally, we close things out with the most significant phenomena of 2020: the madness that is Tiger King. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
While the Redskins took on the Vikings on Thursday night, the Porkcast crew was welcomed by a special guest to dissect the prior week’s performance, a sloppy, messy, mud-fest between Washington and the San Francisco 49ers. Oscar Aparicio of the Better Rivals podcast from Niners Nation shared his reflections on the contest and some insights on how the season has gone thus far for a squad that others may have slept on. Ever the gracious guest, Oscar called out some the highlights of the Redskins’ performance and offered an outsider’s perspective on the bright spots for the team, namely why Matt Ioannidis is underrated even by our own standards. We offered up a hypothesis, that these two squads are not all that dissimilar: with young(ish) disliked owners, stadia far geographically removed from their downtown locales, and with a wealth of history and success that seems increasingly distant in retrospect. Oscar, however, offered his thoughts on why despite these similarities the 49ers are better positioned for the future, and what the Redskins need to do to get back to a winning culture that can remove the bad taste from the fan base's collective mouths. Finally, Oscar makes his case to the Porkcast for why we should hop on the Niners bandwagon for the second half of the 2019 season. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
Washington Redskins starting DE Matt Ioannidis discusses his journey to becoming an elite pass rusher in the NFL and how he overcame adversity along the way.
JP Finlay, Mitch Tischler and Tarik El-Bashir were all in Ashburn for Doug Williams' Monday pre-draft press conference and are now here to tell you all about it. Before they do so, though, JP gets you hip to all that Redskins Talk will bring you throughout draft week. Then, they get down to business, giving their major takeaways from what Williams said, discussing whether there's an "internal battle" brewing in Ashburn and looking at options for the 'Skins when it comes to pick No. 15. If you like podcasts where JP is very uncomfortable in Mitch's car and Mitch does a scary Matt Ioannidis impression, then this is the episode for you.
TheNFLGirl talks about Russell Wilson, Demaryius Thomas, Travis Benjamin, Matt Ioannidis, Tyreek Hill, the AAF, Jalen Ramsey, the Oakland Raiders and the NFL concussion settlement.

The Washington Redskins hit the road for Preseason Week 1 against the New England Patriots in Foxborough, so Redskins Capital Connection hit the road as well. Literally. Today's episode was recorded in the car on the drive back to Boston after the game, with host Chad Ryan joined by special guest co-host Michael Phillips from the Richmond Times-Dispatch! After going in to half time with a 17-3 lead, the Redskins ended up losing 26-17 after Colt McCoy left the game and Kevin Hogan took over. But the score wasn't the main story from tonight, with injury scares to key players such as Derrius Guice, Matt Ioannidis, and Trey Quinn. We've got the updates on all of those guys for you, with both Chad and Michael spending time in the Redskins locker room after the game getting it all from the horses mouth. Tune in and listen in to the fun as Michael gives you the tourist's guide to the highway from Foxborough to Boston as well. A lot of laughs on today's episode of RCC, so tune in and have fun!

The Redskins have moved to 3 and 2 on the season following what can best be described as a rather pedestrian 26-24 victory at home over the San Francisco 49ers. But 3 and 2 is obviously better than 2 and 3, and it's also good enough to keep Washington firmly in the playoff hunt! However, if the Redskins are going to make a run for the post-season, then they will need to have a lot better luck than they've had with injuries to start the season, and that's probably the biggest story around the team at the moment; who is hurt, who is and isn't available, and really... what the hell is going on?! To help hosts Chad Ryan and Mark Phillips figure that out, as well as previewing the massive NFC East game on Monday Night Football against the Eagles in Philadelphia, they are joined by 106.7 The Fan's Redskins beat reporter Craig Hoffman (making his RCC debut today!) Together they talk about the continued improvement of Matt Ioannidis, expanding Josh Doctson's role in the offense, and the roadmap to victory against Carson Wentz, to name just a few of the topics covered!
Original Airdate: 3-20-17. Host Jack Furlong and co-host Curt Macysyn interview Lou DiPietro of the YES Network about the New York Yankees and Trenton Thunder, and Hunterdon Central HS grad Matt Ioannidis of the Washington Redskins. Tune in Mondays at noon for this LIVE show!
