Gargano & Myrtetus Middays - 97.5 The Fanatic

(00:00-12:27) Ray Dunne is in the host seat today and immediately calls into question the Jalen Hurts/Nick Sirianni QB/Coach battery.  The question is, which one of the two should be more heavily scrutinized? (12:51-40:32)  Ray brings up how Jalen looks more like his 2021 season opposed to his 2022 season and wonders if Sirianni's offensive scheme could be a common denominator.  Colin Cowherd says he views the Eagles as one of the best teams in the NFC, but Ray responds that it's not enough to top the 49ers. (40:35-1:15:17) Tom Alvord opens the vault for the first Giants week of the year! It's also Malcom Jenkins' birthday, and former Flyers' first round pick Nolan Patrick announces his retirement.  Brandon Graham claims Desai was demoted because of outside noise… What is happening in the Eagles' locker room? (1:15:21-1:45:49)  Ray and Tom field calls and continue to attempt to diagnose where the problems are for the Eagles.  Jalen's “smugness” has become a major topic of concern for fans. (1:46:02-1:48:49) The Philadelphia Inquirer's Matt Breen joins the show to react to the coordinator change, the offensive struggles, and if Nick Sirianni's tenure will look similar to the Eagles head coaches of the past . (1:59:55-2:47:53)  The show goes around the league to see how the Eagles stack up in this edition of the power rankings.  Ray goes back to the original question and puts his blame on Nick Sirianni, and Tom calls into question the experience of the staff.

We are living in the times of change. Much needed change, and the "franchise" in Washington DC has made some changes of their own. Washington announced that they will be removing their former owner from Half of Rings and essentially removing the found of the franchise from the history books. While that is all fine and dandy, the problem still looms about their team name, which has yet to be changed. When push comes to shove, you almost assume a change will come. Malcom Jenkins speaks out on race in the NFL and Drew Brees as well as his Covid concerns. Jenkins feels that Covid would need to be "really be eliminated" in order for him to return back to the playing field. Ezekiel Elliott feels the same way as I am sure many players do. With the NFL finally feeling effects of Covid after canceling the Hall of Fame Game and ceremony, reality starts to settle in. Will there even be a season? All we can do is hope at this point. Training camp wont be delayed, but the start of the season can be. The sooner the season gets here the sooner we find out where Antonio Brown and Jamal Adams end up, if anywhere, as they are the topics of many rumors around the NFL. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/2pointconversation/supportSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

The sports world has just about stopped. Much has changed not just for sports fans, but the world overall. Thankfully, the NFL is still doing its thing as free agency is here. The Eagles have made some moves, acquired new talent, and let other players walk. This week, we'll dive into it all with Eagles beat reporter Ed Kracz, the Eagle Maven at Sports Illustrated and SI.com. It's a great interview with Ed this week! But first, we started out the show talking about how sports evaluation and development is going to be hindered over many months throughout the football, basketball and the sporting world. (approx. 8:15)From there, we discussed how Minor League Baseball players are going to be impacted by this work stoppage. Many may have to leave the game entirely. (approx. 18:30)We then dove into how weird it's going to be this coming NFL season watching players like Tom Brady, Philip Rivers and Malcolm Jenkins in new uniforms. (approx. 24:00)This week on the Highbrow Segment, the topic we discussed was how business around arenas and our communities are being impacted by the coronavirus and our need to quarantine. How might this impact the culture of neighborhood and the overall fan base of sports teams? (approx. 29:45)On the Lowbrow Segment, we each gave three free agents that were the best or worst in our opinions over the year. (approx. 39:15)What we're throwing down on the Table this week is an in-depth interview with Ed Kracz from Sports Illustrated's Eagle Maven (si.com/nfl/eagles). We first talked about the departure of Malcom Jenkins and what it means from a leadership standpoint and scheming in the future. From there, we talked about newly signed, yet familiar face, Jalen Mills who will take Jenkins' spot on the field at the safety position. How has Howie Roseman's philosophy changed, if at all, during free agency? Will the Eagles need to wait until the draft to pick up some wide receiver talent? We got into all of this and much more on the Table! (approx. 53:46)Email us at feedback@philadelphiasportstable.com to let us know your thoughts about anything and everything Philly sports. We'll read your email on the show and respond.

The Philadelphia Sports Table | Philly Sports News & Views

Week 4 of the Eagles 2018 regular season is now in the books. The Birds lost a tough game to the Tennessee Titans on the road by a 26-23 score in overtime. The team is now 2-2 on the season, and they have yet to play a division opponent with a tough schedule looming.Alshon Jeffery made his return this week and was extremely productive putting up 105 yards and a touchdown. Carson Wentz also played a great game while having protection in the pocket. The Eagles offensive line has some clear and glaring issues in pass protection that continue to plague the offense. On the other side of the ball, the defensive line didn't get to Marcus Mariota as frequently as we would have liked to have seen. The defensive backs for the Eagle, minus Malcom Jenkins, hampered this team out of the gate. In the end, the Eagles didn't make enough plays and the Titans did going 3-3 on 4th down in this game.As always, we gave our breakdown, analysis and takeaways from the game. Plus we also got into the team stats, box score and graded the positions and coaches.
