Join best-selling author and Bible teacher Nicki Koziarz for a special teaching episode on Gideon. In this episode, we dive into the story of Gideon in Judges 6:11-24. This is a passage where God meets Gideon in his fear and uncertainty, calling him to a purpose far greater than he ever imagined. Nicki shares how Gideon can teach us to find and remove the pieces in our peace, to experience "shalom" total complete peace. Some things we cover: Setting the Scene (v.11-12): Gideon's initial state: hiding in a winepress, threshing wheat, fearful of the Midianites. God's greeting: "The Lord is with you, mighty warrior!" — a powerful reminder of God's vision for Gideon that surpasses his own self-image. Gideon's Doubts and God's Patience (v.13-16): Gideon questions God's presence and actions, reflecting his insecurity and frustration. God's response is both reassuring and affirming, telling Gideon to "go in the strength you have." A discussion on how God often calls us despite our doubts and inabilities, equipping us for what He's called us to. The Sign of the Sacrifice (v.17-24): Gideon asks for a sign to confirm his calling, and God honors this by miraculously consuming Gideon's offering. The significance of the offering, and how it represents Gideon's need to lay down his doubts. Reflection on how God sometimes provides reassurance in unexpected ways, meeting us where we are.  Learning to trust God's vision of who we are rather than our own limited perspectives. Someimes He calls us to seasons that are seem to make no sense but they aren't senless. We can have encouragement to step out in faith, even when we feel inadequate, because God promises His presence. Embracing God's patience and kindness when we struggle with doubt and fear.  “The Lord is with you, mighty warrior.” - Judges 6:12  In what areas of your life do you struggle to see yourself as God sees you? How can you start "going in the strength you have," as God told Gideon? What might it look like for you to lay down your doubts and trust God's presence in the midst of the battles of your life?    Something to think about: Gideon's story shows us that God doesn't always call the equipped, but He equips those He calls. As we reflect on this passage, keep your soul open to God's encouragement and step into the roles He's calling us to, knowing that His "shalom" peace is with us as we build an altar to alter our lives.

In the space between no longer and not yet, you still belong somewhere. It catches most of us by surprise. Life is going along until suddenly, we find ourselves at the crossroads of what was and what is yet to be. This in-between space of transition often keeps us awake at night, asking questions like What am I supposed to do now? and Why do I feel so lost and alone? If a new direction doesn't come, it can feel like you're stuck in a cycle of purposeless days. Nicki Koziarz asked those same questions. Changes were coming in multiple areas of her life, and she struggled to navigate through them. But Nicki discovered how to find direction for today by understanding the types of seasons a transition can bring. In her book Your New Now and on today's episode, Nicki walks us through the life of Moses from the perspective of four transition seasons he experienced: development, separation, cultivation, and finished. This episode will help you: ● Discern which transition season you're in and learn how to overcome its challenges ● Stop feeling lost in life by discovering where you belong on the road between what was and what will be ● Protect your future by learning to utilize Scripture to fight fears of the unknown Transitions start with something ending, and waiting for a new beginning can be agonizing. But you can learn to be confident and optimistic, even when life feels like it's paused in an unfamiliar now. Connect with Nicki: NickiKoziarz.com

Do you wonder how you can know the difference? Do you struggle to feel confident in your relationship with God and what He says in his word? Do you sometimes feel stagnant or like you hit a wall in your spiritual life? Hey, I'm your host, Rachael Groll: missionary, author, pastor, and life coach. And I have been there. I, too, was doubting God's voice in my own life. I, too, felt insecure about the things I thought God might be calling me to do. I wanted to make a difference in the world and be obedient to what God was calling me to do, but I wasn't quite sure how to figure out what exactly that was. I kept telling myself that I was wasting time trying to figure it out or waiting for Him to show me. Or that I wasn't qualified to do the things I thought He might be telling me to do. The answer for me was found in the pages of the Bible, as I learned how to understand what it was actually saying. If you are ready to grow in your faith and to step confidently into the calling God has for you, then join me as we dig deep into God's word so you can learn to live out your faith in your everyday life. Nicki shares her wisdom from her latest bestselling book, Your New Now, which explores how to spiritually work through transition seasons in our lives. We delved into the four transition seasons:: Development, Separation, Cultivation, and Finished, and how to navigate through each.    Throughout our conversation today, Nicki shares her personal experiences, what research teaches us about transitions (I was surprised!), and why it's vital for us to transition well from one season to the next. Nicki also shows us how its possible to be in more than one season simultaneously (this resonated with me). Through her wisdom and insight, we learned how the gospel offers hope for what is next after our time on earth has ended and the incredible power of faith in the midst of change.    You won't want to miss this enlightening and inspiring discussion with Nicki Koziarz!   Xo, Donna   Listen in to learn more about my conversation with Nicki Koziarz The 4 seasons of transition and how to identify the one you are in   Navigating transitions, finishing seasons well, and recognizing change How to recognize when a season of life is coming to an end.    Resources: If you need a helpful resource for someone exploring faith or Christianity, you'll want a copy of my book, Seek: A Woman's Guide to Meeting God. Join us in this episode of Following to Lead with Kevin East as he speaks with Linda Jones.  Linda Jones is also the Founder of the WOWTEC e-Academy Mentorship Program, offering practical and relatable Biblical teachings to help anyone find solutions and lead to a deeper connection to the Lord. Linda Jones formed the Women of Worth Ministries community for those ready to walk out of past hurts and emotional struggles and partner with God in fulfilling their destiny. Linda Jones grew up in a household filled with constant fighting and trauma, as her alcoholic father was extremely abusive. Her mother hoarded the pain and anger, which she, in turn, dumped on Linda and her two brothers. The abuse continued for most of Linda's life until her mother passed last year. Linda spent her entire life trying to fix her mother, hoping that they would be happy once she was fixed. But there was no fixing her mother, and nothing Linda did seemed to be enough.  They talk about moving from emotional pain and emotional trauma to emotional wholeness and healing, rising out of brokenness to impact others. What the Life of Moses Teaches Us About Going Through the Transitions in Life with Special Guest Nicki Koziarz   Life is about transitions, it's part of the human experience.  How do we embrace those moments instead of longing for the next stage?  Today I invited my friend Nicki Koziarz on the show to talk about those transitions and her new book, Your New Now.  Nicki walks us through the life of Moses, as an example to us when we are living in a place of transition.  I pray this episode blesses you!   Nicki Koziarz is an ECPA bestselling author and a speaker with Proverbs 31 Ministries. She speaks nationally at conferences, retreats, and meetings and hosts her own podcast, Lessons from the Farm. An evangelist at heart, Nicki inspires others to become the best version of who God created them to be. Your New Now is available at Nicki's website, or wherever books are sold.   Hey friends, welcome to the Hearing Jesus Podcast.  Do you sometimes doubt if you are truly hearing God's voice or if it's really your own? Friend, you are loved, you are cherished, and you are His. The Hearing Jesus Podcast will encourage and equip you to step into the calling God has for your life, living out your faith in the everyday. Together we will break down walls that keep us from growing spiritually. We will dig deep into our Bibles to understand and connect the Scriptures to our lives. Life transitions can be tricky. There are hard changes that we don't see coming and then there are welcome changes that we also have to navigate. Change in general can bring a flood of conflicting feelings from joy and delight to vulnerability, fear, and anxiety. As one season closes and another begins, we often find ourselves asking: What on earth am I supposed to do now? That's what we are going to be talking about in this episode. My guest, Nicki Koziarz, like so many others, has wondered “what now” during seasons of change. She has often felt lost in the middle spaces of life, including transitioning from working in an office to working from home, raising teenagers on the edge of adulthood, and navigating the painfully slow process of adoption. Nicki recently dug into the middle spaces of life in her latest book, Your New Now: Finding Strength and Wisdom When You Feel Stuck Where You Are. Y'all are gonna love todays' guest, Nicki Koziarz. Nicki is a wife, mama, best-selling author, Bible teacher, podcast host and a farmer all rolled into one bubbly package. She has an incredible testimony of getting pregnant at 19 and was given an ultimatum to either get married or move out. She and her husband, Kris, decided to get married and are still together 22 years later. As a young wife and mom Nicki was asked by a friend to lead a Bible study in her home and ended up having around 50 ladies attend for about two years. That was the start of her journey into womens ministry which eventually led to her becoming a part of the Proverbs 31 Ministry team.  She and her husband and three daughters are now first-generation farmers (which she says is a fancy way of saying they have no idea what they're doing) and live on what they call the Fixer Upper Farm, because they've had to put so much work into it. But now God is pivoting them a bit and she shares how they've chosen a new name for their farm and are pursuing another big farm dream. It's so fun listening to Nicki's farm adventures! And she has a new book releasing in March that she talks about. In this episode she also shares about losing her mom after a six-month battle with a brain tumor and soon after she lost her brother to suicide. She's had a hard last few years, but she still radiates with the joy God has given her.

REBROADCAST: This week on Real Talk with Rachael, I'm chatting with bestselling author and speaker, Nicki Koziarz. As a part of Proverbs 31 Ministries, she speaks nationally at conferences, retreats, and meetings and hosts her own podcast. An evangelist at heart, Nicki inspires others to become the best version of who God created them to be. Nicki and her husband and three girls run a small farm just outside of Charlotte, North Carolina, which they affectionately call The Fixer Upper Farm. Key Points from Our Conversation: “The timing of God is never rushed by the impatience of man.” Although the idea for Flooded was the concept for her first book, it was rejected several times. Instead, she wrote it in the midst of deep loss, grief, and stress. After losing her mom to cancer and her brother to suicide just two years apart, Nicki's faith was shaken. Doubt started stirring inside of her and she wondered how she could trust God again. When it comes to our faith, we have to be intentional about making decisions that strengthen us and combat the doubt inside of us. Wishful thinking uses scripture as a band-aid by applying promises God made to others to our situations. Biblical hope is taking the time to understand the scriptures, which promises are for us, and what we can claim through faith today. For every struggle we face, there's someone in scripture who's gone through it who can teach what it's like to overcome with faith in God. She was drawn to the story of Noah who made 5 steps of faith. Noah's first step was walking with God. Walking with God is a private, holy place where we decide to get into the trenches with God. This is where we get our strength. Noah's second step was listening to God. It's easy to use the noise around us as comfort or distraction. It's an incredible spiritual discipline to practice being still with God. The voice of God will never tell you anything that contradicts scripture or anything that goes against His character. The brain never stops changing – you can stop believing something at any point. Rising above doubt will require you to retrain your brain. You can't protect yourself from naysayers, but it's up to you what you do with their words. If you're struggling with doubt, you're not alone. “God, if I have it wrong show me the right way. But if I have it right, help me to stand still until I have this promise fulfilled.” There are times when we get it wrong and we should admit that. We need to do the hard work of being still and wait for growth. Let's Get Real Practical: When your emotions are flooded, start by taking time out and doing something to calm down, then practice deep breathing exercises or progressive muscle relaxation. Do you ever find it hard to let God work on your behalf? Are you tempted to trust in your own strength rather than let God work things out for you?  As believers, we have the most incredible opportunity to put our full trust and confidence in our heavenly Father. But, so often, we get caught in the trap of thinking “Surely I'm not the right person to do this” or “There's too much against me for this to actually work out.” Today on The Proverbs 31 Ministries Podcast, Lynn Cowell will help us understand what it means to develop unshakable confidence built on Christ.  With today's episode, you will… Grow your confidence in God as you hear references to stories in Scripture that show how He moved through others who trusted Him to do the impossible. Identify and address the fears that keep you stuck, and learn what practical steps to take to walk in your calling with confidence. Renew your passion to do what only you've been called to do, knowing it's more important to please God than others.
