In 1974 a message was sent into space from the Arecibo telescope in Peurto Rico. It contained details about Earth and Humanity, including mathematics, DNA, and information on our Solar System. In 2022, international researchers led by NASA's JPL have designed an updated message with even more information and are preparing to send the broadcast. Although scientific achievements by some definition, many argue that the potential dangers greatly outweigh any benefits. Although proponents of sending such messages argue that we blew our cover long ago, these arguments are still based on human capabilities such as space travel and detecting chemical or electromagnetic radiation from our televisions. In fact, some believe that a 2001 crop formation near the Chilbolton Radio Telescope in England presents us with a response to the original Arecibo message from 1974. The crop formation, which many also believe is just another hoax, used the same type of format as the original but depicted a different DNA structure and the image of beings with small bodies and large heads. It goes without saying that even the notion of such a response, particularly if it doesn't involve physical contact or outright invasion, is almost as chilling. Here we may have hyper-advanced aliens that may be sending us a postcard but want relatively little to do with us. Perhaps this is the real reason that many are motivated to message the cosmos despite the downside being so much greater and probable than the benefits. We desire confirmation from higher intelligence that we are worth communicating with. The idea that nothing is there or that what is there doesn't care, is equally as cold and terrifying, perhaps a greater horror than every Hollywood alien invasion. Being brushed off, evenly politely, by vastly superior intelligence, may be more devastating to our civilization than direct contact.

That’s why most of those white middle class Cuban hate Castro . Whether u agreed or disagree with Castro. One can argued. Castro have done more for the Cuban people than Batista. If wasn’t for the US embargo against Cuba would have been much better country economically. Castro wanted to negotiate with the US Government. However the US Government wanted to have more control of Cuban economy and they support the Italian Mafia allegedly. Castro stood his ground and never back down from the US Government. That’s why they hated him. They were many assassinations attempts on Fidel Castro life. But US Government failed miserably. Castro was one the greatest leader of the 21’s century. Some people complain. Anthony Delgado gets on with solving problems. He’s a serial entrepreneur whose latest venture has big goals. He wants Puerto Rico to become the Hong Kong of the Caribbean. His mission began in the aftermath of the hurricane damage in Puerto Rico. Anthony wanted to do something to help. His friends told him to send a donation or mail a letter to the Governor. Anthony bought a 1-way ticket to Peurto Rico and hopped on a plane. The biggest problem was power. Being a tech guy Anthony looks at all the sunshine, and with the help of friends back home he gave away 300 solar panels with batteries. The next biggest problem was the damage to tourism, where a huge number of people had lost their jobs. Anthony’s answer? Take advantage of the warm weather to host a major tech event. Then he decided to start a coding school in Peurto Rico that combines education with travel. If you re driving down the highway almost anywhere in this country you re likely going to see a Lamar Billboard. And while you may know that Lamar is one of Baton Rouge s biggest companies, you might not realize it s also one of the largest outdoor advertising companies in the U.S. Lamar has more than 144 thousand billboards in the US, Canada and Peurto Rico and more than 1.8 billion last year in revenue, and it all started out as a little family business in the deep south. The 4th generation of the Lamar family business, Sean Reilly, is the company s CEO. Stephen St. Cyr, also knows a thing or two about the sign business. Any time you walk into a Circle K and see a big lifesize cutout propped up on a cardboard frame, it s an image that likely rolled off a large format printer at St. Cyr s print shop Vivid Ink Graphics. The company has been growing exponentially in the past three years and recently move into the old Circuit City building on airline highway because it needed more space. Stephanie s special guest on this episode of Out to Lunch is Billy Tamm, one of the last neon sign repairmen in the area. Billy has produced neon for everything from small beer signs to the billboard of Shamu at Sea World in Orlando to the neon Coca Cola Bottle at the new plant here in Baton Rouge, which, by the way, is one of just two neon coke bottles in the whole world.
