Dat doet Wielenga boeiend en evenwichtig. Het boek verrast en bevalt door de aandacht voor nuances. Maar PG noemt het ook 'onaf' vanwege een toch wat rommelige opzet.Frans Stoelinga promoveerde op leven en werk van Albert Winsemius. Zijn boek is zowel voor de historie van de wederopbouw en het Marshallplan in ons land én de opkomst van Singapore als powerhouse in de wereldeconomie een voltreffer. Hoe een Nederlandse topambtenaar in Azië een sleutelfiguur wordt en aan het polderen slaat is een fascinerend verhaal.Dat is dat over Adriaan Dijxhoorn niet minder.
