1. NEJM Article (2024): A 30-year study of 27,939 U.S. women found that high-sensitivity CRP, LDL cholesterol, and lipoprotein(a) independently predicted cardiovascular risk. Higher levels of these biomarkers increased the risk of major cardiovascular events, emphasizing the need for early screening and prevention in women. 2. BrJSportsMed Article (2024): A study of 13,018 women found that even 1–3 minutes/day of vigorous intermittent lifestyle physical activity (VILPA) significantly reduced cardiovascular risk. RaeAnn Tucker joined Wake Up Tri-Counties to discuss Wear Red Day on February 7th, Heart Health Month in February, and the Smoke-Free Illinois Act. This Friday, February 7th, marks National Wear Red Day, a nationwide effort to raise awareness about women and heart disease. The Henry and Stark County Health Departments, alongside their First Choice Healthcare clinics in Kewanee, Colona, and Toulon, are joining forces with the American Heart Association to spotlight this critical issue. This February marks American Heart Month, a crucial time to spotlight heart health and the dangers of tobacco use. The Henry and Stark County Health Departments are emphasizing the link between smoking and cardiovascular diseases, which remain the leading cause of death globally. Tobacco use significantly increases the risk of coronary heart disease, stroke, and peripheral vascular disease. Efforts are underway to enforce the Smoke-Free Illinois Act, which bans smoking, vaping, and e-cigarette use in public spaces and workplaces. This law aims to protect residents from the harmful effects of secondhand smoke, responsible for over 41,000 deaths annually in the U.S. The Health Department urges compliance and education to combat these preventable risks. The Smoke-Free Illinois Act requires that all business owners: Do not permit smoking, vaping, or e-cigarettes within 15 feet of entrances, exits, windows that open, and ventilation intakes. Post “No Smoking” signs at each entrance. Remove ashtrays from areas where smoking is prohibited. The Health Department notes that failure to comply with the Smoke-Free Illinois Act can result in fines. For more information about the Health Department's Illinois Tobacco-Free activities or for “No Smoking” signs or window clings for your business, call 309-852-0197 Extension 249.

Sorrels commented that "the Governor thinks very highly of the organization," and urged attendees to "look after their loved ones" and to "make sure they get to and from where they're going safely." Riverton Mayor Tim Hancock agreed with Sorrel's sentiment, commenting, "The more that we all come together the more power we have to make a difference and help our community be better." Everyone has their own journey. From the outside, we can look at someone else's journey and wonder why theirs seems easier compared to yours. Why is it that some people are more inclined to be successful, while others are doomed to fail? Yet, the most successful people are usually the ones who have the biggest challenges and go through multiple failures before they came to where they are now. As the saying goes, the success you see is only the tip of the iceberg. In Sajag Patel's case, he had to go through struggles, changes, doubts, bankruptcies and so much more to be where he is today. Despite the challenges thrown at him, Sajag never quit. He had a clear vision of where he was going and built a plan around that. But beyond achieving financial success, it is using the money he earned to serve other people and help change their lives for the better is what brings him happiness and inspires him to do more. Join Brian Charlesworth and Sajag Patel as they talk about Sajag's journey from being a software engineer who offered to work for free for the first three months so he could get the job, to being the Vice President of Segments for Keller Williams Realty Inc. Top Takeaways: 03:21 How Sajag got his first intern opportunity 08:01 How he took a failing business that was doing $600,000 and turn it to $1.3M in 3 years 10:11 What led him to real estate 11:26 How Sajag came to Keller Williams 14:38 What is “Red Day” and what is its impact on Sajag's life? 23:05 Sajag's “crazy” daily routine 23:55 The book he considers his Bible 24:10 How he scaled from 5 doors in 2018, to 103 doors in 2022 31:44 What is an executive coach? 38:04 The value of having a coach 40:16 The greatest gift you can give someone 42:49 What's it like to work with Gary Keller 46:07 What makes Sisu so powerful? 49:17 What does the future look like for KW? 51:16 Sajag's one piece of advice About the guest: A former Senior Software Engineer, Sajag began his career in real estate with an independent broker in 2009. After 6 months, he transferred his license to Keller Williams and he became Rookie of the Year in his first year. Looking to take his game to the next level, Sajag went through the KW MAPS BOLD, and his business went up that year. Sajag partnered with KW MAPS Coaching in 2015 to coach the top agents in the field. Since then, he has become an Executive Coach, as well as a Head Coach. In 2019, Sajag joined Monica Reynolds and Fritz Pollard to revolutionize MAPS with the mission of altering human trajectory and changing lives. Today, Sajag is the Founder and CEO of BOLD Real Estate Consultants. He is also the Vice President of Segments for Keller Williams Realty Inc., where he is in charge of leading the growth and development of its established real estate market segments that include KW Luxury, KW Commercial, KW Land, KW New Homes, KW Military, KW Young Professionals, and KW Sports + Entertainment.

Red (Taylor's Version) is finally here and Abby's recorded her (sometimes rambling) reactions to this emotional, beautiful, lyrical masterpiece that's even better than the original. From "All Too Well" (10 Minute Version) (Taylor's Version) to the Phoebe Bridgers feature that turned her into a puddle of tears and everything in between, including the assassination of Jake Gyllenhaal. Birth control is not one-size-fits-all, and there are a ton of options out there for this exact reason. For Karli, her birth control experience made her realize she needed something different. In this episode, she's opening up about listening to her body, finding relief after ditching hormonal birth control, and why we're excited to finally have a natural option that can work for both of us. We're exploring: A BIG UPDATE about Kasey's cancer treatment How debilitating physical & mental symptoms impacted Karli's life Why Karli followed her intuition about her hormonal birth control (and what it meant for her side effects) The dish on why Natural Cycles is different And so much more! This episode is sponsored by Natural Cycles, the first FDA cleared birth control app. While hormonal birth control works wonderfully for some people, for others like Karli, it isn't an option. Which is why it's great to have NC as a natural alternative. Natural Cycles is 98% effective with perfect use & 93% effective with typical use. It can also be used if & when you're ready to plan pregnancy. All she has to do is measure her temperature first thing in the morning to find out her fertility status for the day. If it's a Green Day, she isn't fertile & if it's a Red Day, she's fertile and should use protection. Use promo code “GHO” on NaturalCycles.com for a free thermometer + 20% off an annual subscription.
