Richard Parks was born during WWII and raised in Orange County, California. Richard is a writer and has penned over 200 biographies including the history of his father Wally Parks who was the Founder, President, and Chairman of the National Hot Rod Association, better known as the NHRA. Wally was instrumental in establishing drag racing as a legitimate amateur and profession motorsport.

The Total Tutor Neil Haley will interview Colin O'Brady of  BEYOND 7/2.    On May 27, professional endurance athlete, Colin O'Brady, completed his final climb on North America's tallest mountain, Denali, and not only broke the world record for the “Explorers Grand Slam,” but also broke the world record for the fastest time for the Seven Summits. O'Brady completed the Explorers Grand Slam in 139 days breaking the original record held by Richard Parks of 6 months 11 days (192 days). O'Brady also broke the world speed record for climbing the Seven Summits, O'Brady completed this in 132 days. O'Brady beat the previous record of 134 days set in 2010 held by legendary climber Vern Tejas. First Story: “Lazy Taekos” by Geoffrey A. Landis Once there was a boy named Taekos who lived on a heart farm. His parents were hardworking people: they grew new hearts for old men, and tiny hearts for babies; they grew strong hearts to plant into young men who had crashed their air-scooters and needed replacements; and they grew rugged working hearts for androids who were grown in a vat.  But Taekos didn’t want to live on the farm.  He was lazy, and wanted to do something that was more fun and less like work. One day he slung his pack over his shoulder and told his parents he was off to seek his fortune in the big city.  He hitched a ride with a passing businessman driving an old-fashioned one-wheeled gyro-car, and in a few minutes he was in the big city.
