Was würden sie heute anders machen? Get upset about someone, blow off steam, make excuses & order of dative and accusative in a sentence when both objects are personal pronouns. Paul confronts Fritz, who does not apologize, but justifies his behavior instead: His new girl is Paul's ex girlfriend, and he thought Paul would mind. So he didn't tell him. He blocked his facebook posts for all of his friends because it was supposed to be a surprise that he caught the Großkauf thieves, got the promotion, the vacation, and the holiday home. But he forgot that Meili is also on facebook and can see his posts. Since he was late for Paul's party, he didn't hear him say the book is valuable. And he just „borrowed“ it for his new girl. Later he wanted to give it back. But then Paul made a big deal about it and upset everybody. So he wanted to have another party to get a chance to secretly put it back. But there were no more parties, soe he tried to visit Paul to put it back. But he came and stood in front of closed doors. Fritz says both his phone and SIM card are broken because they got wet in a rain. He couldn't get in touch and didn't mean to ignore him. He has no phone numbers, no logins for social media and messengers, and no access to e-mail. Paul wants to know where his book is. Fritz is shocked to hear that he doesn't already have it. Why is Fritz so shocked and thinks Paul already has the book? If he thinks Paul already has the book, why wasn't he surprised that he is still mad at him? Our idea was to spoon-feed you German in very small bits. And to tell you parts of one big story at the same time. An awesome, full-blown story with different storylines that continues throughout all lessons. We wanted to keep you motivated and say "I can't wait to find out what happens next episode!" Understand a movie description & possessive pronouns in the accusative and dative: seinem/-r/-n, ihrem/-r/-n. Meili, Anna, Tim and Paul are waiting in the cinema for the film to start and they're reading the movie description. Paul tells them that he is getting more and more online jobs now. It also turns out that his blog is becoming even more popular. He and his friends gather in front of his cell phone as they urge him to finish his new blog post so that they can read it first. He writes down a few unanswered questions about Fritz and lets them have a taste of his new writings. That's when Anna remembers a website and tells Paul to use it to search for the best kitesurfing spots on Germany's islands. Suddenly, Tim is completely beside himself and wants to see Paul's key quickly. Why does Tim suddenly want to see Paul's key? Why did Fritz block his Facebook photos for everyone, but not for Meili? Does he really have a holiday home on the beach with a garage and a garden? And does the garage opener Paul found fit the garage? Why didn't he tell anyone about his holiday home? During a break while playing paintball, Meili, Anna, Tim, and Paul chat. Paul excitedly shares his first freelance gig. The blog about Fritz has gained traction, with fans speculating wildly about his alleged connections to the underworld - this is what Grandpa couldn't believe earlier. Paul is amazed by the blog's popularity. They discuss plans to see a movie later. Inspired by Tim's kitesurfing video, Paul thinks that Fritz might be surfing on an island. However, he lacks the initiative to find out which island it might be because he says he was busy with Grandpa, the apps and the blog. So Tim pushes him to try harder. Grandpa writes and also puts pressure on him. He reveals he has discovered a way to find the correct address of the hiding place of the painting. And for that he urgently needs the book! Is Fritz really on an island? On which one? Can Paul normalize his relationship with Grandpa or will Grandpa put on more pressure and let everything get out of hand? Why did Fritz draw suspicion on Anna earlier by saying she has a criminal record for theft? Why didn't he tell anyone but Meili about his new girlfriend? Meredith arrives with her assistant Jaime, while Whitney brings her friend Meili. Whitney admits that since the reunion two months ago, she hasn't been close with the group, especially Lisa. Meanwhile, Britani, who recently broke up with Jared Osmond (Donnie and Marie's nephew), jokes about how their tumultuous relationship ended after 16 breakups in 8 months.Heather reveals she's taking Ozempic for a long-overdue glow-up. Mary, dressed in an expensive Saint Laurent heart coat, makes a joke about fashion with Bronwyn, who is equally fashion-forward. Later, Mary tells Britani that she didn't grow up poor, in response to Britani's remarks about her own background.Meredith, still upset from past events, expresses how she felt targeted after Bermuda, particularly by Whitney, who launched a bath bomb line that Meredith perceives as a personal attack, since baths are "her thing." Meanwhile, Lisa proudly talks about her son Jack's mission trip in Columbia, while Bronwyn mentions she doesn't understand the mission culture as she grew up Mormon.Confrontations heat up when Meredith challenges Whitney over the bath bombs, and Whitney insists she has no issue with her. Angie steps in with a scroll of grievances, sparking chaos as Meredith walks away. Lisa later tries to unite the group but ends up clashing with Whitney over a podcast Whitney made, where Lisa felt attacked. Heated arguments follow, with Lisa accusing Whitney of lying about past comments, even throwing a glass in frustration, leading to a full-blown shouting match among the group.TakeawaysCelebrating milestones is important for personal and professional growth.Cinematography can enhance the storytelling in reality TV.Friendships in reality shows can shift dramatically from season to season.Fashion choices often spark debates among cast members and viewers alike.Age gaps in relationships can be a topic of discussion in reality TV.Conflict often arises from misunderstandings and miscommunications.Humor can be found in the most unexpected moments during tense situations. The importance of personal growth and healing journeys is highlighted in reality TV.Reality TV can sometimes blur the lines between scripted drama and real emotions.Viewers often crave light-hearted fun over toxic drama in reality shows.Support the show

Now that this is my last Sunday with you, it's time for me to tell you my real name, because in so many ways, our name defines us, roots us in this world, gives us our identity. My real name isn't the name that my parents put on my birth certificate and that I was called at my baptism. It's the name my grandmother gave me when I was born. My father's mother, Ah Yun, was the name-giver for the Chin family. An ancient Chinese saying goes, "The family is essential under Heaven." The family is the foundation, the center of Chinese culture, with the male child responsible for continuing the family lineage and, importantly, passing on the family name. So girls are traditionally not valued. But the birth of the first child, male or female, is always an occasion for celebration and joy. So when my parents' first child was born, a girl, Ah Yun named her Mei Li, meaning "Beautiful Daughter." Girls are often named lovely names like that--Coral Flower, Beautiful Girl, Lustrous Pearl, and so on. I think it makes the girl more appealing when the time for marriage comes along.

My guest this week is Sabrina Mei-Li Smith who lectures in Creative Writing at De Montfort University in Leicester. Sabrina has written a novel set in the mid-1990s and some of the research behind her novel is heavily connected to the themes of nostalgia and identity.  We learn about the way Sabrina examines themes of race and gender within the accepted narrative that surrounds the rise and demise of Britpop, the emergence of 1994's Criminal Justice Act, and the standardization and neutralization of alternative lifestyles.  Sabrina also has an exhibition as a work in progress, which focuses on her novel's research materials. This exhibition consists of archive materials from NME, Melody Maker, and fanzines as a method of communication before the widespread use of the internet. Sabrina talks about the hidden histories of mixed race performers and how we only tend to remember one accepted narrative, and we discuss what has changed over the decades and the fake and distorted memories from those eras, including the extent to which memory is a fallible tool. We talk about the differences between autobiographies and biographies, and the way cover songs encapsulate nostalgia. Sabrina also talks about Walter Benjamin's collection of arcades in Paris and how until 10 years ago all of the characters in her own writing were white, female and middle class. We learn the reasons for this, and then, at the end of the interview, we discuss how we might still be in the mindset of our teenage selves.

He emphasizes the individual differences within the autism spectrum and highlights the TV show 'Love on the Spectrum' as a relatable portrayal. The episode also touches on autism and policing, sensory processing disorder, transitioning from therapy to school, and the challenges of finding the right educational setting for his daughter. He concludes by acknowledging the sacrifices and dedication of fathers in similar situations.   Takeaways   Parenting a child with autism spectrum disorder can present unique challenges and require significant adjustments in daily life. ABA therapy can be instrumental in teaching life skills and addressing the specific needs of children on the autism spectrum. Autism is a spectrum disorder, and individuals with autism can have a wide range of symptoms and abilities. Communication devices, such as tablets with specialized software, can help non-verbal individuals with autism express their needs and emotions. Finding the right educational setting for a child with autism can be challenging, and parents may need to advocate for their child's specific needs.   Until Next Time…out of role!

Always fun to sit down with Philip Duff Show stalwart Tony Sachs and go over all the happenings of the year! We covered AI, ChatGPT's cocktail skillz, Skrewball whiskey, gonzo "collabs" like Absolut's vodka sauce made with Heinz and Empirical's Doritos flavour, and discussed the deafening silence around Jason Momoa's Meili vodka, the dastardly abv-lowering deeds of Beefeater Gin, and the likeability of Keanu Reeves. Along the way we had some fancy Tequila Ocho bottlings, the delicious El Viaje raicilla, Charbay's surprisingly tasty R5 hopped whisky, Ryan Maybee's fine J Rieger Rye whiskey, some 1980s Ancient Age bourbon, and (after judicious application of a hammer) some Chartreuse Elixir Vegetal. But, the big news was we fired up the mini copper still I brought Tony back from Lisbon, and distilled a can of Stella Artois into something that wasn't half-bad! Duff-Sachs Distilling is now open for business. Enjoy! Set in the remote, mountainous Guangxi Autonomous Region and based on ethnographic fieldwork, Families We Need: Disability, Abandonment, and Foster Care's Resistance in Contemporary China (Rutgers UP, 2022) traces the movement of three Chinese foster children, Dengrong, Pei Pei, and Meili, from the state orphanage into the humble, foster homes of Auntie Li, Auntie Ma, and Auntie Huang. Traversing the geography of Guangxi, from the modern capital Nanning where Pei Pei and Meili reside, to the small farming village several hours away where Dengrong is placed, this ethnography details the hardships of social abandonment for disabled children and disenfranchised, older women in China, while also analyzing the state's efforts to cope with such marginal populations and incorporate them into China's modern future. The book argues that Chinese foster families perform necessary, invisible service to the Chinese state and intercountry adoption, yet the bonds they form also resist such forces, exposing the inequalities, privilege, and ableism at the heart of global family making. Erin Raffety is a research fellow at the Center for Theological Inquiry, an empirical research consultant at Princeton Theological Seminary, and an associate research scholar at Princeton Seminary's Institute for Youth Ministry.
