It's time to close out PLANET OF THE APES MONTH in style as we go back to 2017 and get ready to do that thing that we don't know what it is good for by looking at War for the Planet of the Apes! Does anything actually happen in this movie? Is it a tad too long? Is this movie too decisive? How great is Woody Harrelson? How great is Roger Cross? How great is Andy Serkis and why is it a travesty that he still isn't nominated for an Oscar for this? Why are we glad that they called Nova after a piece of a car rather than a box for something else? Is this another title that doesn't make any sense? How great are the visuals once again and how do they keep on getting better? Would we have liked to have seen Pierce Brosnan surf the avalanche at the end of the movie? And why do we wish the first part and the last part of the movie was the whole movie? It's another epic movie to close out the month so get to listening you damn dirty listener! ★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★

There's something about real and relatable human stories that is just hard to look away from...On this episode we gather with friends to see how life can really force us all to take a second look at our lives.  It's time for 'Re:Uniting' which is in theatres now.Starring Jesse L Martin (Law & Order, The Irrational), Michelle Harrison (The Flash), Roger Cross (War For the Planet of the Apes), David James Lewis (Child's Play), Carmen Moore (Nancy Drew) and Bronwen Smith (Firefly Lane) as six best friends from college who reconnect for their 25 year reunion.   When Rachel, played by Michelle Harrison, receives life-changing news, she secretly grapples with her mortality while playing host to her friends who have grown up and gone their separate ways since college. Carrie, a mother of 3, Natalie, a workaholic neurosurgeon, former football star turned sportscaster Collin, and playboy man-child Danny join Rachel and her husband at their picturesque home on the beautiful and secluded Bowen Island. As soon as they are all together it's like no time has passed; they laugh, drink and dance the night away. Rachel's nostalgia is echoed by the group as they realize how much time has gone by, and how much they have all changed. As secrets are revealed, they are forced to change the way they look at their futures. With echoes of films like 'The Big Chill' there's something about 'Re:Uniting' that just feels so genuine that you won't want to look away from this fantastic ensemble piece. In advance of the film's release we had the distinct pleasure of sitting down with writer/director Laura Adkin to talk about the origins of the story and so very much more....

"2gether" was a sitcom that aired on MTV in 2000 following the movie of the same name that released earlier that year. The show was a satirical take on the boy band phenomenon of the late '90s and early 2000s. The show followed the fictional boy band 2ge+her as they moved in with one another in a house provided by their new label "What-Ev Records". The series provided audiences with a humorous look behind the scenes of the music industry and the manufactured personas of boy bands. One of the notable aspects of "2gether" was its ability to blend scripted comedy with musical performances. The band's songs, including "U + Me = Us (Calculus)" and "The Hardest Part of Breaking Up (Is Getting Back Your Stuff)," became legitimately popular among viewers and even received airplay on MTV and other music channels. Overall, "2gether" remains a fondly remembered part of early 2000s pop culture. Will the show resonate with a group of guys who mostly distanced themselves from the boy band trends of the time? Listen as the S1E1 guys deep dive the show's pilot episode, "Lorelei" and find out. Before Roger Cross was an actor, he was a pilot – and a lot of what he learned in the cockpit informs the nuanced work he does today. Roger's filmography is vast and includes Dark Matter, Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency, Orphan Black, and the beloved Vancouver-shot time travel procedural Continuum, on which he played Travis Verta, a Liber8 time travelling terrorist who was really, really mean. More recently, Roger's been inhabiting a very different type of role: that of Donovan “Mac” McAvoy on CBC's Coroner, which is in the midst of airing its second season and for which Roger was recently nominated for a Canadian Screen Award. Coroner follows the professional and personal exploits of Dr. Jenny Cooper (Serinda Swan), an ER doctor turned coroner whose husband recently died, leaving her a single mom with a mountain of debt, PTSD, an ex-soldier lover who lives in a tree house, and a new partner in the form of Roger's Mac. In this joyful and contemplative episode, Roger talks about the paradigm-shifting advice he received early in his career from Billy Dee Williams, what is was like to pick his son up from grade one while dressed as Travis Verta, growing up with immigrant parents, and what it means to him to play a detective on a Coroner – and the role that art can play in making people confront their privilege. 187 - Hollywood 2010   This one hour and six minute show shares some thoughts, flubs and personal thoughts as I traveled on my first media event to cover the first Celebrity Sporting Clays event at the Triple B's range outside of Hollywood, CA.  I got star struck a few times and didn't know how to use my gear but I got used to it.  Over all I had a great time and met some fantastic people.     It's really all about people for me. Special thanks to Tat, and Nathan.     This event was for the City of Hope.  I'll provide a full blog post about it on www.kennblanchard.com soon.  I met Joe Mantegna, Erik Estrada, Ernie Hudson, Keith David, Felix Giles, Patrick Kilpatrick, Roger Cross, Michael Paul, Tim Abell, Bruce Buffer, Louise Mandrell, Wounded Warriors, and a host of others.   Barbara Baird of Womens Outdoor News shares her travel experience hunting grouse. Zombie Strike, #46   Don't keep this show a secret, share it today!
