Guruji Rishi Vasu sits with Alex to describe his fasting experiences & knowledge. The 40 days on water he did in a tantric ashram and the 21 days he's just done. That gave him the opportunity to learn Sanskrit, the spiritual scriptures and the inner science from an early age. He spent lots of time in different Ashrams and absorbed the original forms of Tantra Yoga. Later, he studied and worked in Krishnamurti's school. This gave him a deep understanding about the network of thought and the way out of it through awakening the capacity to just observe and listen to one's mind without any judgement and identification. Rishi then went on to study with Himalayan Yoga Masters and modern Gurus from south India such as Patabhi Jois and B.K.S. Iyengar. He is a life long disciple of the enlightened master Osho and spent several years in Osho's community. He translated many Osho books from Hindi to English during his Work as Meditation program at Osho International Meditation Resort. Rishi travelled to Europe, America and many Asian countries extensively and taught traditional Tantra and Yoga in their original form. According to Rishi, the radical transformation in his being started taking place during ‘Work as Meditation' at Osho's Ashram. As Osho says- ‘You work for me and I'll work on you'. This statement started manifesting in Rishi's life. He describes the process as rewiring of his whole physical and energetic system to a higher template based on inner ecstasy. His yoga Guru Mr. Iyengar requested him to start a Yoga School in India. With the help of his beloved friends and Osho's Sannyasins, Lila, Sasa and Swami Ansh his Yoga School was started in Goa and it became a great success in a very short period of time. It is Rishi's passion to bring to people's awareness the fact that the twin systems of Tantra and Yoga have never really been separate. They are two aspects of Sanatanam Dharma, the eternal flow of truth.

In this miniseries, I chat with Sam Jahara about her experiences growing up in the Rajneesh movement after her parents began following Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh. Sam answers the question of "Where were the children?" and the answers are unpleasant reminders that in a high control environment, allegiance can only be to leadership, leaving no space for relationships familial or otherwise. Sam Jahara is a practising counsellor and psychotherapist for Brighton and Hove Psychotherapy. This is Dragon Lady, the last witness, the sequel series of "Soli" by Roberta Lippi. Her name was Deeksha, and she was one of the women of power in Osho's entourage, the famous Indian guru, and one of the few disciples to have direct access to the teacher.Deeksha was somewhat of a living legend in the ashram because many considered her to be a true tyrant. Osho often spoke of her as an exemplary figure, calling her Zen Master or Dragon Master, and still today the Sannyasins remember her this way. even if she has long since disappeared from the scene.Deeksha arrived in the United States and was destined to take over Rajneeshpuram together with Ma Anand Sheela, but suddenly decided to leave the commune. The reasons that prompted her to leave have remained secret for over 40 years. Today she has decided to talk and reveal everything about the community and the guru.

This week Ashley and Megan cover the Part One of the Rajneesh Cult. Listen to find out the story of how Antelope, Oregon became the City of Rajneeshpuram overnight and how the overtake pursued. We take a deep dive of how the townsfolk felt as well as the Sannyasins. This is the first part of a two part episode! So cup it up and let's get started!
Max Brecher is a former New York political journalist, and author of 5 books including “A passage to America”, an investigative journalistic account of the events around Rajneeshpuram. A passage to America systematically explores the complex sequence of events that led to Osho’s deportation and the collapse of a $150 million commune-city in the Oregon desert. Based entirely on historical records and more than a hundred interviews conducted in the United States, Europe and India, the book re-examines old misconceptions in the light of new evidence and proves beyond a doubt that there was a conspiracy against Osho and his message. This is a special episode investigating the facts surrounding the meteoric rise of Rajneeshpuram and its even faster fall, including Osho’s illegal arrest, secretive detention, alleged poisoning and deportation. Max Brecher has conducted a high-quality investigative journalistic account and shares detailed information, underpinned by solid and robust evidence, about the most controversial aspects of the Rajneeshpuram saga. If you have ever wondered what really happened to Osho in the USA, in this 2-part episode, you will find clear and exhaustive answers. This conversation could not avoid touching upon the highly disputed relationship between Osho and Sheela. Here’s what you’ll learn in this episode:02.20 - Max’s background and motivation for writing the book05.00 - How Max managed to interview high government officials12.20 - How Max financed his huge project15.10 - Osho’s visa and immigration status20.10 - The issue of land use and the conflict with the residents 25.25 - Sannyasins’ accomplishments: building a city centrally located in the middle of nowhere27.50 - SWAT Team and National guard preparing to storm the commune 33.50 - Osho is arrested illegally without a warrant, detained for 12 days and allegedly slow poisoned with thallium and radioactive sources46.40 - Max’s view on WWC 50.20 - Evidence of Osho’s involvement in the crimesResources:Max Brecher’s websiteMax Brecher’s bookLove Osho Youtube channelLove Osho Free Guide - How to meditate if you can't sit quietlyConnect with us on Facebook and InstagramMusic and Voice by Chinmaya Dunster*** REVIEW! ***If you have enjoyed the show, please subscribe and leave us a review on Apple Podcasts.

It’s the third installment of our Cults series and this week we’re seeing red! Travel with us to the Big Muddy Ranch in Oregon and learn about the Rajneeshee movement of the early 1980’s. Made popular by the Netflix documentary series Wild, Wild Country, they’re not quite as sinister as some of other cults we’ll cover in this series, but a freaky deaky sex cult nonetheless. Hippies and semi-automatic weapons DO NOT MIX WELL in the small town of Antelope, causing friction between the Rajneeshees and the old crotchety town folk. As always, we’ll compare the actual definition of a cult with the practices and antics of the Sannyasins and see where we land. It’s about to get Wild! **we do not own the music used in this episode and no copyright infringement is intended** --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/notreligiouspod/message
Liberty Weekly - Libertarian, Ancap, & Voluntaryist Legal Theory from a Rothbardian Perspective
In episode V, we close out our summer special on Netflix's "Wild, Wild Country." In this finale, Daniel, Robert, and I had the pleasure of welcoming Sherry Voluntary to the show to discuss her own experience in a non-traditional religious organization. Sherry relates her 27 year experience with her own group to the Sannyasins' experience following Osho. She also relates her emotions in leaving her group to that of the Sannyasins in leaving Rajneeshpuram. We were very excited to have Sherry on the show! Sherry Voluntary is a former co-host of "Speaking Freely," a regular weekday program which aired on Knoxville Talk 92.3 FM. She now continues her work through hosting two excellent podcasts: "The Sherry Voluntary Show" and "Postcards from Somalia." Daniel and Robert are the dynamic hosts of the Actual Anarchy Podcast, which cover movies and films from a Rothbardian lens. They also host "the Last Nighters," which is the same show, except with a normie-friendly name! The Astrology of Dreams - Explorations in Archetypal Astrology
James Moran, Erica Jones and I talk about the astrological archetypes that played themselves out through the lives of the self-made guru Rajneesh (Osho) and his secretary Ma Anand Sheela - as illustrated in the amazing Netflix documentary "Wild Wild Country".
