On this episode of the "House of Hockey" Podcast, Rae Rae is joined by hockey journalist Allan Kreda, diving deep into the latest NHL news, PWHL news and sharing candid opinions on the hottest topics in the hockey world. Breezy is on the podcast's IR. Allan Kreda is a long time writer who's covered the three major NHL teams in the greater New York area, New York Rangers, New York Islanders and the New Jersey Devils. He's spent almost two decades with the Associated Press. He's covered money and banking, the National Hockey League and the sports media business. First up, let's talk about the thrill of back-to-back games in the Stadium Series. It's a bold move, but what are the thoughts swirling around the league? Does the excitement of consecutive games add to the spectacle, or does it dilute the impact? And what about the decision to allow other games to be played simultaneously? How does that affect the overall experience for fans and players alike? But it's not all smooth skating in the Stadium Series. Merchandise availability, particularly concerning the NJ Devils is notable and Allan shares his perspective on what the NHL does well with these outdoor hockey festivals. Shifting gears to the on-ice action…Allan shares the general response from players and fans about outdoor games like the Stadium Series. Turning our attention to the New York hockey scene, how's the Coach Patrick Roy era treating the New York Islanders? And we review the current states of the Rangers, Devils, and Flyers. What's the pulse of each team, and what can we expect from them moving forward? In a heartwarming twist, the Rangers and Islanders recently shared the Stadium Series stage with local heroes: firefighters and policemen. Donning jerseys representing their respective departments, these players honored the brave men and women who serve their communities. Meanwhile, the Flyers and Devils brought some pop culture flair, dressing as Rocky and Tony Soprano, respectively. It's moments like these that remind us why hockey is more than just a game—it's a platform for unity and celebration. Looking ahead, Allan shares some fascinating anecdotes about rubbing elbows with hockey legends like Adam Graves and Rodrigue Gabriel Gilbert. Plus, he's co-authoring a memoir with Ken Morrow, a true hockey icon with multiple Stanley Cups and a spot on the 1980 USA Olympic Miracle on Ice team. With stories like these, it's clear that the spirit of hockey lives on both on and off the ice. He got his start as a marketing intern and has worked his way into his current position, which Paul has dubbed the greatest title of any podcast guest so far! Along with working in a variety of functions, he has also worked across the world in California, Switzerland, Colombia, Canada, and now Ohio. We learn how he applies his diverse experiences to his management and leadership, how Nestlé aims to be “consumer-obsessed” to succeed, and the importance of the manufacturing aspect of Nestlé's operations among other things. He names Bogotá as the most interesting city for food that he's lived in but gives Cleveland an honorable culinary mention as it's the only city he has moved back to. From 'DA's New York Accent' (Subscribe Here): In more than 80 years of Rangers hockey, only one man built a Stanley Cup champion. That's GM Neil Smith. He took over the team in ‘89 and describes how far from a contender they were. He goes through the early acquisitions of Adam Graves and Mark Messier, then the constant tug of war with coach Mike Keenan. He oversaw the most dramatic trade deadline in franchise history and the risks he took in trading away valuable pieces against his better judgment. What it's like to end the drought, what it's like to then have your coach leave weeks after. For the first time, Smith also tells the story of trying to make amends for Messier's controversial departure many years later. This is a can't-miss conversation for hockey fans. A nostalgic look back at our favorite Hockey heroes and legends who wore the red, white and blue for the Rangers during the 1960s, 70's and 80's. In this Bonus episode, we look back at Vic Hadfield night at MSG this past Sunday, December 2nd, 2018. During this historic, entertaining and sentimental ceremony the New York Rangers added the former captain and left winger for the famous GAG line to the list of former Rangers greats to have their number retired and lifted to the Garden rafters. The great number 11 has now joined fellow linemates Rod Gilbert, and Jean Ratelle in having his number retired and all three members of the Greatest scoring line in Rangers history will have their uniform numbers hanging side by side atop the rafters at MSG. * Only the 10th Ranger to have his jersey retired joining: #1 Eddie Giacomin #2 Brian Leetch #3 Harry Howell #7 Rod Gilbert #9 Andy Bathgate and Adam Graves #11 Mark Messier and Vic Hadfield #35 Mike Richter * Eloquent and heartfelt speeches by former GAG linemates Jean Ratelle and Rod Gilbert as well as former Coach and GM Emile Francis. * Former teammates who attended to support and honor Hadfield were Bob Nevin, Eddie Giacomin, Pete Stemkowski, Bruce McGregor, Teddy Irvine, "The Chief" Jim Nielsen, Members of the "BullDog" Line Steve Vickers, Walt Tkaczuk and Bill Fairbairn. As usual, the loudest ovation was for Hall of Famer Brad Park * Also attending was Ron Greshner and other Rangers greats Mark Messier, Adam Graves, Brian Leetch, and Mike Richter. * I would have liked to have seen the ceremony take place during a scheduled game with an original six club such as the Boston Bruins or Chicago BlackHawks. * A briefer Ceremony should have and could have taken place at the scheduled Face-off time so most if not all of the fans would be seated while and bringing energy, enthusiasm, importance and respect to Vic Hadfield and all of the other Ranger greats in attendance on this historic evening in Rangers history. * Fellow teammate and Rangers President Glen Sather along with Current GM Jeff Gorton should also have been at ice level participating in the ceremony. * Finally thus far it has been a Ranger's travesty not to have Hall of Famer Brad Parks number 2 retired at this time. Hopefully, Rangers Management will do the right thing and make this happen in the very near future.

All of us connected to Hockey see the values it instills in our youth. From commitment, to work ethic to team work, hockey is a valuable tool to teach life skills beyond the game itself. A man who continues to teach those life skills off the ice post-career is Adam Graves, a two-time Stanley Cup Winner and the Vice Chair of Smilezone.
