This Full Moon we dive straight into our conversation with Dr Sara Baumann, who I have been working alongside in different capacities since 2020 - we talk about more in the conversation. This is the bio that I refer to at the beginning of the episode that had me like YES, this is why we are so aligned with our work, even though we come at it from different angles…“Sara Baumann is a global health, mixed methods researcher with primary research interests in 1) participatory, arts-based, and visual research methods, 2) women's and adolescent reproductive health, and 3) mental health. She has over 13 years of experience conducting research and programming in health and development in South Asia, with a current focus on Nepal. Her research agenda embraces community-engaged methods and developing evidence-based approaches for improving social determinants of health.”Join us as we discuss Sara's journey from film-maker to health researcher and back again, and how she's created a wonderful purpose-driven happy medium with research projects that use the Collaborative Filmmaking method that she has developed to explore our relationships with health and emotions. We share how that actually translates in the world, particularly within the examples of work that we have done and are doing together. This is not just a theory! We celebrate the power of consistently giving the power back, of reflecting the value of those that we are working with, and hearing the voices of marginalised and socially shunted groups over prolonged periods of time… another key to sustainability and constant reassurance for the participant of their expertise. It really is an undoing of the old hierarchical ways!Find out more and download the handbook at http://www.collaborativefilmmaking.comFollow:https://www.instagram.com/collaborativefilmmaking/https://www.instagram.com/glowherpitt/We have both worked together on Dignity without Danger with Dr Sara Parker of LJMU, who we reference:https://www.instagram.com/dignitywithoutdanger/To see the Visualising Loss logo that we created last year for a current research project: https://www.instagram.com/p/CwfJvhysBIw/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==More of the graphics and illustrations will be revealed for this project by Christmas!Do get in touch with either of us to continue this conversation or to discuss the potential of appearing in Sara's Can Art Heal Module if that feels like you!Happy Full Moon everyone! When P&O Ferries suddenly fired its staff on the spot on 17th March, there was an outcry from politicians, unions and the press with widespread scathing condemnation of the company. P&O claimed it had made huge losses during the pandemic and that its current business model was unsustainable. It offered severance packages but the nearly 800 staff who accepted them also needed to agree not to make any legal claims against P&O or talk to the media. Sous chef John Lansdown was the only staff member to reject the redundancy offer and to fight P&O, and their Dubai-based parent company DP World, in the courts for 'Unfair Dismissal'. As the only person speaking out, John was quickly thrown into the media spotlight for a rollercoaster ride he wasn't prepared for. He's also been navigating his legal options and coming to terms with the abrupt end of a relationship with P&O - which he joined as a 16 year old an apprentice chef - and a crew which was his second family. Untold producer Neil McCarthy follows John through the ups and downs of these turbulent 8 weeks as he prepares for a lengthy battle. With additional recording by Sara Parker

What You’ll Hear on This Episode: Laura and Sara’s combined experience of working both as an Executive Assistant to a CEO and planning over 2,000 events. How we can plan smaller events such as a baby shower and have it be just as beautiful and memorable as a huge one. How to curate a theme and weave in personalized decor and keep it elegant instead of cheesy. What things we can think about to combine both beautiful decor and a comfortable guest experience. If there is an alternative to flowers, and what other home decor items Laura and Sara see currently at events. Registries — what you should pick and how, what you shouldn’t pick, and how we all feel about going off the registry to purchase your gift. Who puts their China in the dishwasher, and why. How to set the lighting and mood at an event, why this can make or break the night, and why it’s crucial to use a dimmer. Mentioned In This Episode: Magnolia Celebrates BallardDesignsRegistry Decorating Dilemma: We suggest making things a tad less busy by taking the dark green from the wall paper and implementing it also on the vanity, molding and crown. Add a more modern light fixture, along with some cool abstract art and acrylic frames. If you could install a toilet paper holder on the side of your vanity, that will help declutter. Update your faucet and hardware, and take it from Taryn — you can get a pretty sweet one for$40!
