Borag Thungg, Whatnauts! Time for Drokk!! Graeme McMillan and Jeff Lester veer a bit off track from Judge Dredd: The Complete Case Files to read volume 4 of Judge Dredd: The Restricted Case files and, in retrospect, maybe that was a mistake? Join us as we look at stories from John Wagner, Carlos Ezquerra, Alan Grant, Henry Flint, Pat Mills, Shaky Kane, Gordon Rennie, Jim Baikie, Robbie Morrison, John Morrison, Si Spencer, Sean Longcraft, Alan Barnes, Trevor Hairsine, Jim Alexander, and many others in tales spanning three decades. Yes, the errors and terrors of completism lead us here and we may never be the same! Episode #390! This week Scott Sackett and DLNelson talk about their current crop of book purchases. First up Scott has the non-fiction books "The Epic of NYC" by Edward Robb Ellis and "Japanese Style" by Slesin, Cliff and Rozensztroch. After that he sheds some light on "Battle At The Comic Expo" by Richard Andreoli and "The Chinatown Death Peril" by Paul Malmont. DL talks about the over-sized square-bound anthology comic "Kane & Abel" by Shaky Kane and Krent Abel. Next it's Marvel time. Scott has a new love for comic movie novelizations and comic prose novels. There are three Tobey Maguire Spider-man movie novelizations by Peter David. Scott brings those to the table as well as "The Mutant Empire Omnibus" by Christopher Golden. To close down this all book episode, DL has the fantastic book "The Art of Star Wars Galaxy's Edge" by Amy Ratcliffe. After listening, check our blog for photos of what we've discussed.

Borag Thungg, Whatnauts! Time for Drokk!, wherein Graeme McMillan and Jeff Lester read the third volume of Judge Dredd: The Restricted Files. Time for another collection of B-Sides, as we read through the stories pulled from specials, annuals, poster books from 1990 through 1993. John Wagner inspires, Alan Grant does pretty much the opposite, and a new wave of Dredd writers incouding Robbie Morrison, Simon Furman, Dan Abnett, Andy Lanning and John Smith try to secure their place of the craggy shores of Dredd, aided and abetted by Shaky Kane, John Burns, the mighty Paul Grist, Glynn Dillon, Colin MacNeil, Cam Kennedy and many more! But is more always better when it comes to the lawman of MegaCity One? Tune in and find out! MY NAME IS CHIP AND I’M DIFFERENT Bit of a change of pace here dear listenoids. While Gary Lactus tutors Little Barry Lactus in the ways of cosmic righteousness, The Beast takes a solo sojourn into the 4-colour wastelands outside your window, till he finds himself knee deep in the comics slurry. There he encounters none other than Tom Oldham, of Breakdown Press and Gosh Comics. The two proceed to have a nice long chat about the origins of Breakdown Press, and their newest release, the long awaited Good News Bible: The Complete Deadline Strips of Shaky Kane. It’s a rambling, yet laser-focused conversation taking in Deadline, 2000AD, Brett Ewins, Nick Abadzis, Brendan McCarthy, Bulletproof Coffin, Connor Willumsen, Fort Thunder, Michel DeForge, Steve Cook, music and comics, Beserker Magazine, Jonathan Chandler, Antoine Cosse, the comics virus, David Quantick, Richard Short, David Hine, Crossed, Worthing and a whole heap more. I'm joined by David Hine and Shaky Kane to talk about the cut-up Burroughsian excess and glory of 84, the fourth issue of their Bulletproof Coffin: Disinterred. Once again, it's a stand alone issue, so can be consumed alone if you can find a copy (it's available digitally), but I'd recommend you hunt down the trade. It's just out so your local shop will have it, but it's available from all the usual online retailers. You can find the show notes here. Honest, you really can. Just click the link. Trust me. I am very trustworthy.
