(00:00:00) The Geek Matrix Pod reviews DC's Weekly Comics Releases This week, (11/20/24), that's: (00:36:19) Action Comics #1076 (00:48:00) Batman-Superman World's Finest #33 (00:53:29) Titans 17 (01:04:50) Catwoman #70 (01:09:45) The Question: All Along The Watchtower #1 (00:41:33) Plus our Honorable Mentions covered each week by Josh! Here's the run down – Variants McFarlane Toys again for variant covers on Batman / Superman: World's Finest #33, Action comics #1076, Titans #17. Lots of pretty good variants this week, but my favorite is undoubtedly Catwoman #70 by Frank Cho, followed very closely by the Watchtower Variants from Jorge Fornes, Lucio Parrillo, and Danny Earls. Issues Batman & Robin Year One #2 – Really good. 100% Samnee art. The dialog is great and it's a really good story. 8.25/10 Batman Full Moon #2– Fantastic. Utterly fantastic. If anyone is telling you otherwise, well, the just aren't right. The art and story and dialog are all spot on in this book. 8.5/10 Dark Knights of Steel: Allwinter #5– Okay 5 issues in and I can officially say this without doubt. So far, Allwinter outshines the original story, and that original story was awesome… and… the art scheme. It sells it so much. Every sliver of the story is also being told in the art and the colors and if you aren't reading it, I mean this, you are truly missing out. .. 8.5/10 Jenny Sparks #4– I really don't know what I was expecting with this. At all. But it wasn't this. I didn't expect to like this. Here I am hating it. The art is really, really, really good. But that's NOT Jenny Sparks OR Captain Atom. Again, it's the art – 6.5/10 Wonder Woman #15 – Same as Jenny Sparks, but lower because this is canon, not Elseworlds. Great art. Awesome art. Really crappy story. 6/10 Milestone Universe-The Shadow Cabinet #1– So much in this issue! It really kicked this 4-issue mini off. There's a lot to the issue, and it's a good thing it has extra pages. I'm really looking forward to the next issue so we can find out more about what's going on, and what will happen with the Blood Syndicate and where are the rest of the team? Man, I love Milestone. 8.5/10. #Superman #Batman #WonderWoman #Titans #Catwoman #TheQuestion #AllAlongTheWatchtower #Milestone #DCAllIn #AllIn #Absolute #DCComics #comics #comicbooks --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/thegeekmatrixcomics/support

Próximo programa: Masters of the Universe - Revolution.
We've wanted to have this conversation with Chris Samnee and Laura Samnee from the moment we read the first issue of Jonna and the Unpossible Monsters. Sure, we've had them on before talking about their beautiful comic celebrating sibling relationships, but we only had half the story. Now the comic is complete and contained in a gorgeously crafted new Deluxe Edition hardcover from Oni Press, and we can go full-spoilers, friends. Don't press play unless you're ready for a proper Comic Book Couples Counseling excavation. What is your responsibility to your siblings? Is the bond between you as sacred as we're raised to believe? Jonna and the Unpossible Monsters presents a world as terrifying as it is often hopeful. Trapped atop it are sisters Rainbow and Jonna, diametrically opposed in most aspects but bound together through familial obligation. And love, maybe? The comic represents a decade of Chris and Laura's life. We explore their earliest memories of Jonna and the Unpossible Monsters and how doodles in 2014 grew into their most personal work. It's a love letter to their children and a narrative that might never be topped, even if they have a few other ideas rattling around their imagination. As always, Omnibus, the Digital Comic Store and Reader, sponsors our Referrals segment. This week, we selected two comic book titles that satisfy this episode's themes. We won't spoil what they are here, but if you jump to the Omnibus digital shop, you'll find them readily available there. Stay up to date on all Samnee family projects via their socials. Follow Chris Samnee on his Website, Twitter, and Instagram. Follow Laura Samnee on her Instagram. SDCC 2017 news might all be in the history books by now, but Mike & Greg took time out of the busiest weekend in comics to comment on some of the first wave of stories already making headlines. Calling back to discussions from earlier episodes, the lads banter about Sonic's Archie/IDW move, Ed Piskor tackling History X, expatriate Waid bringing Samnee with him for his “Captain America” homecoming, “Young Animal” getting busted smoking weed, Berger Books vs Black Crown -- When Imprints Clashed(!), just how many books does IDW publish, and much more! Robots From Tomorrow is a weekly comics podcast recorded deep beneath the Earth's surface. You can subscribe to it via iTunes or through the RSS feed at RobotsFromTomorrow.com.
Chris Samnee, the co-writer and artist of Marvel's Black Widow, joins Off Panel this week to talk his work on that book and his new Daredevil Artist's Edition from IDW Publishing. Samnee talks how that Artist's Edtion came together, his approach to art, why the inking process is so important to him, what makes working on Black Widow so special, how co-writing that book changes things for him, the superpowers of color artist Matt Wilson, character acting, and more. It's a great chat with one of the best in the biz these days.
In the Marvel that's making up for Monday's missed mepisode, @TwoPlai talks about the art of Chris Samnee in Black Widow 5 (co-written by Waid and colored by Wilson), applying the artistic analysis and advice of Jesse Hamm at patreon.com/jessehamm and the principle of "Burn and Bury." Tomorrow TwoPlai plans to play catch up to present the Tuesday Trade and the Wednesday Wide World of Comics books, but for now, enjoy another over-long analysis from 'The Paul List.'

July 7, 2010 - Chris Samnee has come a long way, and impresses comic fans with every page he puts out. Now, as a regular artist at Marvel and other publishers, as well as one of the Comictwart group, fans have seen a lot of wonderful art from Samnee. Chris Neseman and Josh Flanagan talked with Chris about his work on this week's Thor: The Mighty Avenger, written by Roger Langridge, Vertigo's Area 10 written by Christos Gage, Siege: Embedded, The Mighty, the forthcoming Serenity: The Shepherd's Tale, and way back to Capote in Kansas. Is Samnee the hardest working man in comics, and will he draw until he drops? Is there such a thing as too much coffee? We all hope not. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Greg Rucka Part II. The second part of our interview with Greg Rucka explores his work on Wonder Woman and how the death of Max Lord came about. We take a longer look into the world of Queen & Country and how the series has jumped from comics to novels and back again. We wrap the episode up with two bonus interviews. First we talk with the talented artist of Capote in Kansas and Queen & Country, Chris "Skippy" Samnee. Then Tom interviews one of Marvel's least talkative heroes.Support the show
