The Aldrich Family, a popular radio teenage situation comedy (1939-1953), was also presented in films, television and comic books. In the radio series' well-remembered weekly opening exchange, awkward teen Henry's mother called, "Hen-reeeeeeeeeeeee! Hen-ree Al-drich!", and he responded with a breaking adolescent voice, "Com-ing, Mother!". Henry Aldrich was an endearingly bumbling kid growing awkwardly into adolescence, and The Aldrich Family often revolved around Henry's misadventures with the girls and with his friends.Henry Aldrich was the creation of playwright Clifford Goldsmith. Aldrich began on Broadway as a minor character in Goldsmith's play What a Life. Produced and directed by George Abbott, The actor who brought Henry to life on stage was 20-year-old Ezra Stone, who was billed near the bottom as the 20th actor in the cast. Stone was also employed as the play's production assistant.When Rudy Vallee saw the play, he asked Goldsmith to adapt it into some sketches for his radio program, and this was followed in 1938 by a 39-week run of a sketch comedy series on The Kate Smith Hour with Stone continuing in the role of Henry. Kate Smith's director, Bob Welsh, is credited with the creation of the "Hen-reeeeeeeeeeeee! Hen-ree Al-drich!" opening, which eventually became one of the most famous signature sounds in radio.After finding an audience with Kate Smith's listeners, The Aldrich Family was launched in its own series as a summer replacement program for Jack Benny in 1939 on NBC. The Aldriches survived its replacement status and ran from 1939 to 1944. After a brief hiatus, the show moved to CBS, running on Fridays from 1944 until 1946 with sponsors Grape Nuts and Jell-O before moving back to NBC from 1946 to 1951 on Thursdays and, then, as a sustaining program in its final run of September 21, 1952 to April 19, 1953 on Sundays.

These, these candid conversations are what I think real shows are going to become anyway. Anyway, I was just saying I really liked how they connected the characters. We're talking about Star trek Discovery and I like how you know I don't want to give any spoilers but I will say spoiler alert because you haven't seen the show yet. But I've seen first, I think I've seen half of the first season, you know that Burnham was raised by Vulcan, Vulcan but specifically sparks falling. Yes, I'm tracking that. So her being half of her childhood, you know from like her Tween years on forward, she was raised by ciric and Amanda Sarah. Okay, so Sarah sarah spots dad basically. That's right, I remember that because he was on one of the episodes, I think one of the meditation things she was doing, she was trying to survive. And it's really interesting to see Cyrix interaction with her compared to how they portrayed Serik and its interaction with Sparks throughout the series, there was always some contention between them and they do address it and that I think the way that they addressed it made a lot of sense. So they address it in discovery to because they addressed it in next generation pretty heavily. Yeah, that's pretty dangerous. Box uh his relationship with Syria because remember remember the spot starts being the ambassador to the ambulance when they're trying to make peace. Yeah, Yeah, I think it's cool and one of the things that passes away to yeah, spoiler alert, I guess if you didn't know speaks dad a spoiler, it's not a spoiler man. God that's a spoiler for you. I don't know what to tell you. You're you're a star trek person and you didn't already know that that has happened. But it's not a major plot point either. First of all, you know when he dies, you know it's coming. It's not like a big surprise that episode out of it. But yeah, I know it was already what? 500? Nobody is shocked that this guy dies at some point. Especially the way Vulcans die and resurrect. Anyway, do they resurrect? Sparks died? Remember the search for spot? Yeah, but I'm just saying it's not like a normal part of their physiology that just that just come out is what happened in his in his situation. So we were talking about what led to this part of the discussion was me appreciating. We just finished watching Picard, which is great in a lot of ways, fantastic at the cinematography, Whoever directed the photography for that work of art, let's call it what it is. It's beautiful. Um The philosophy and the Ethics is on point, which is what I've always loved about Star Trek and why it's my favorite show. But the plot is silly. The plot is like when you figure out what the mystery that the show is shrouded in right up to the end, when you figure out what's really going on, it's like word mass effect, that that's what you're gonna pull. Like you're just gonna basically take mass effect and copy and paste it. We could have done a little better than that in the plot. Department imitation is the greatest form of flattery. Very useful to keeping all your mystics alive. 4 - allows you to use a decently strong counter attack frequently, as you are debuffed more often than not. A lot of her kit is gated by this, so her purpose is to be strong when facing debuff teams. 2 - gives you a good purge plus helps enable her kit. 1 - I do like this ability, BUT it is double gated, and it is rare you will have zero buffs AND debuffs. Nightwing - 4,1,5,3,2 (leader build) non-leader build 4,3,1,2,5 Thoughts on to why: 4 - enables his kit, esp as leader and the biggest change to him that makes him much better now. (more defense, etc 1 or 3 - depending on if you plan to run as leader or not will depend on when you want this. His 3 is better if you plan to run him as a strong call assist partner as opposed to leader. (both options are viable.) His basic proccing on leader is better than his 3 if you go the leader route. 5 or 2 - if you never plan to go leader, pick his 2, but otherwise 2 would be the one I would leave off in most cases to have the option if you stop at L4, as it really doesn’t do much and you will rarely cast it in battle. Yes it has synergy with Riddler, but it being random and only lasting one turn makes it kind of useless in my book. Did you like the show? In this episode we look into the history of The Kybalion with author Philip Deslippe, who wrote the extensive introduction for the newly released book The Kybalion, The Definitive Edition. In the Essence of Magick we look into the idea, practice, and significance of ritual initiation and the role it plays in groups and in religions such as Wicca. We even discuss the idea behind the popular modern Wiccan practice of self-initiation and looking into the reality and practicality of such a ceremony. In the latest episode of The Infinite and the Beyond, we welcome back author Lon Milo DuQuette and talk about the rerelease of his Tarot of Ceremonial Magick and his new book Low Magick: It’s all in your head… You just have no idea how big your head is and we touch upon some of what he mentions in it; like his discomfort with the ideas of low and high magick, his concept of The Great G, pop goes Ganesha, and the celebrating of Christmas as a non-Christian. We discuss my appearance on Beyond the Threshold with Gary Blackheart that occurred back in November. Gary took me beyond the threshold and we discussed some touchy and often difficult issues that I have mentioned in the past on this podcast. I elaborate on my crisis of faith and come to some refreshing conclusions. In A Corner in the Occult we learn about The Book of the Sacred Magic of Abramelin the Mage and ceremonial goal of one attaining Knowledge and Conversation with their Holy Guardian Angel. The most familiar edition of the book was translated in 1900 by Samuel Liddell MacGregor Mathers for incorporation into the curriculum of the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn. The book reveals a ritual procedure that becomes a pinnacle goal for ceremonial magickians of the western esoteric tradition. Later we talk about “words of power” in the Essence of Magick series and look into language, words, and meaning as well as the roles they play in magick and ritual. In the latest episode of The Infinite and the Beyond, we speak to Parapsychologist Loyd Auerbach about his experiences as a paranormal investigator. Loyd runs the Office of Paranormal Investigations out in California and has been consulted and featured on many shows dealing with hauntings and the paranormal. Loyd talks to us about being a parapsychologist, ghosts, educational opportunities, investigating, and we even discuss some of the current television shows that depict paranormal investigation. I share some of my own personal ghost stories, one of which occurred when I was very young and the other when I was much older. My interest in the paranormal started from this very early experience as a child; while the other experience taught me that you never know when you're being watched and by whom. In this episode we talk with fellow podcaster and author Jeva Singh-Anand about his new book Bedtime Stories for the Faint of Heart. Jeva is the host of the Lance and Graal podcast and Professor Zarnoff’s Channel on YouTube. I go back to lodge after a year of staying away from it and I share my experiences about that return.
