The enthusiastic reception among the Israeli public for Donald Trump's Gaza takeover plan - that includes emptying the Strip of almost 2 million Palestinians - has offered Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu a political boost that he is likely to take full advantage of. Haaretz editor-in-chief Aluf Benn said on the Haaretz Podcast that "very sadly, the transfer idea is extremely popular within Israeli Jewish society," though the fear of international condemnation was always there. Now, the fact that the American president himself put the idea of moving Palestinians out of Gaza on the table gives Netanyahu - and other Israelis - the ability to embrace the concept of ethnic cleansing openly.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

In the Bryan Kohberger trial (CR29-22-2805), the defense has filed a "Motion to Strike the HAC Aggravator." This motion challenges the state's use of the "Heinous, Atrocious, or Cruel" (HAC) designation, which is a significant factor in death penalty cases. The defense argues that the evidence presented does not meet the legal requirements to justify the HAC aggravator, which could influence sentencing if convicted. On deck: (6:53) Gearing up for the home stretch of the NFL season as teams continue to jockey for playoff positioning. One team that could be in danger of not having their starting quarterback is Eagles Jalen Hurts. How long will be out of the lineup? Can they survive without him for any length of time? The AFC North is even at the top with the Steelers & Ravens holding the fort. Will Pittsburgh hang on to win the division? And why it's important for them to do so? Lamar Jackson had a solid performance on Saturday against his kryptonite in black and gold. Is he bound to win a third MVP? Or is Josh Allen still the favorite? I'll share a comparison with both as super productive regular season players who haven't delivered in the postseason. I'll check on what else is happening in the NFL with the NFC South & West and the entire playoff picture in both conferences. (37:29) The first ever expanded college football playoff is in the books. Sadly, there was absolutely NOTHING to write home about. I'll breakdown how Clemson, Indiana, SMU and Tennessee fell way short of not just pulling off upsets, but staying in these games to compete and advance to the semifinals. I'm concerned that we may see the same fate in the next round where Boise State and Arizona State will get a crack against Penn State & Texas, respectively. I'll keep you abreast on the health of Georgia QB Carson Beck, who'll likely miss the quarterfinal matchup vs. Notre Dame as we look ahead to New Year's Eve and New Year's Day to the next round. (49:49) With the annual Christmas Day extravaganza for the NBA forthcoming, it's come under some fire as reports of a decline in ratings and interest with the Association has surfaced. I'll explain why that's the case and have a quick fix to remedy it. Will it happen? Is it way too late to do so? I'll peek in to what's going on throughout the league as the schedule is pretty light because of the upcoming holiday. (1:02:19) Are the Buffalo Sabres not going to make the playoffs again? They're in the middle of a 13 game losing streak as of today. When will they snap out of it? Can they get back to being in the middle of the pack in the Eastern Conference? I'll see what's the latest in the NHL as they sport will head into a Christmas break after tonight. (1:06:19) Another passing of a baseball legend as I'll remember Rickey Henderson who died Friday night at the age of 65. The MLB Hot Stove is working overtime the past few days as there have been several transactions. The Yankees sign Paul Goldschmidt to play first base next year. Was that a good pick up? The Mets finally re-sign one of their own (no, not Pete Alonso) but pitcher Sean Manaea to a three year deal. They did miss out (and to my dismay) on signing Walker Buehler on the cheap. Guardian fans have a lot to be upset with as Josh Naylor gets shipped to Arizona. Why are they operating as a major league club if they can't re-sign their own players? Plus, other moves by the Phillies, Astros, Rangers and A's that have made news over the weekend. The New York attorney generals office, led by Cy Vance attempted to downgrade Jeffrey Epstein's offender status from level 3, the highest you can go, to level 1. Thankfully, the Judge overseeing the proceedings at the time struck down the notion and admonished the DA for even asking for such a reduction. In this episode, we take a look at how it all went down and what the DA's office excuse was. He talks Chris Ballard, Shane Steichen, Gus Bradley, Anthony Richardson and more. 31:02-44:30 – JMV continues the Colts conversation by opening the phone lines and talking calls and tweets from listeners. 44:30-1:04:00 – JMV starts the second hour of the show with more on the Colts loss in Green Bay, starting with a dissection on why Jonathan Taylor rode the bench in the 4th quarter. 1:04:00-1:18:02– JMV airs more grievances with the coach staff as the Colts get thoroughly outplayed in Green Bay. The phone lines continue to buzz and JMV interacts with angry and upset Colts fans. 1:18:02-1:47:02– Stephen Holder of ESPN.com joins the show to break down everything wrong on West 56th Street, starting with the malpractice in the 4th quarter with Jonathan Taylor's usage. Holder tells the story of a notable NFL figure that said the Colts “need to give Taylor the ball until he is begging for oxygen.” Then, the topic of note shifts to Chris Ballard's passion project- the trenches. How much of the Colts' ineffective run defense is Ballard's fault, how much is DC Gus Bradley's fault? That and more with Stephen Holder. 1:47:02-1:54:28 – JMV closes the show with listener phone calls.
