At 8:00 p.m. on Thursday July 15th, 2010 Hermetic Hour host Poke Runyon will present a lecture on the magick of Franz Bardon, the 20th century European alchemist and magician. Bardon was the author of three books on magick, and one semi-autobiographical novel. His Eastern style methods of training, owing much to raja and tantric yoga, have had a considerable influence on modern Western practice. We will discuss each of his three books in sequence; where his information came from, and what his philosophy was. You will learn about "fluid condensers," "volts," "elementals," magnetic and electric fluids, and magick mirrors. His debt to P. B. Randolph will be mentioned. We will discuss the origins of his myriads of spirits, the way he derived his sigils, his unique concept of Kabbalah. Bardon's background as a professional hypnotist, alchemist and healer will be compared to his mundane life and problems. The Master was an over-weight chain-smoker who died after eating a bacon sandwich---but he was still "The Master," and we should appreciate him all the more for the faults that made him human. Tune in find out why Simon, King of the Witches kept saying "Magnetic-Electric," while having fun with the D.A.'s daughter.

ANGELA'S SYMPOSIUM 📖 Academic Study on Witchcraft, Paganism, esotericism, magick and the Occult
In this episode, we dive deep into the fascinating origins and esoteric significance of the term larva. We begin by exploring its classical Latin meaning as a ghostly apparition or malevolent spirit, drawing from ancient Roman religious traditions. Discover how larvae were seen as dangerous spirits that disturbed the living, and how these concepts evolved over time. As we trace the term through history, you'll see how larva came to represent not just ghosts, but also astral parasites in modern occultism, feeding off negative emotions and unresolved psychic energy. Learn how figures like Blavatsky, Crowley, and Bardon interpreted larvae as psychic parasites, and how the term has even found its way into modern biological terminology. We'll also discuss the festival of Lemuria in Roman culture, where rituals were performed to exorcise these malevolent spirits, and the symbolic significance of masks in esoteric traditions.
ANGELA'S SYMPOSIUM 📖 Academic Study on Witchcraft, Paganism, esotericism, magick and the Occult
This episode offers an exploration of the life, works, and esoteric system of Franz Bardon (1909-1958), a Czech occultist who significantly influenced 20th-century Western esotericism. Bardon's seminal trilogy—"Initiation Into Hermetics" (1956), "The Practice of Magical Evocation" (1956), and "The Key to the True Quabbalah" (1957)—provides a comprehensive guide to his unique approach to Hermetic magic, which emphasizes self-mastery, elemental equilibrium, and spiritual transformation. The episode analyzes Bardon's step-by-step methodology for developing the practitioner's mental, astral, and physical faculties, as well as his innovative interpretation of the Hermetic principles of correspondence and analogy. It also examines Bardon's syncretic integration of Eastern and Western spiritual practices, such as yoga, alchemy, and Kabbalah, into a universal system adaptable to various esoteric paths. On Thursday January 12th, 2023 the Hermetic Hour with host Poke Runyon will review "Letters on the Royal Art" by 19th century German author J. B. Kerning. Kerning was a musician, a mystic and a Freemason. The book is composed of letters describing the spiritual absorption of the symbols, words and signs used in the three degrees of Blue Lodge Masonry in the form of an internal awareness which purifies and sanctifies the whole body. This is similar to a yoga chakra system and may have had an influence on the Golden Dawn's Middle Pillar ritual. The book and other works by Kerning may have influenced Bardon's "Key to the True Qabalah." Kerning was a singer and teaches a magical Masonic Alphabet in the manner of a musical voice teacher. He is perhaps the first modern Western mystic to emphasize internalization of spiritual ritual. His concepts enabled the development of "Bringing Down The Light" in 20th century magick.

Podcast: This week on the show, we present a pre-recorded conversation with Rawn Clark, author of A Bardon Companion: A Practical Companion for the Student of Franz Bardon's System of Hermetic Initiation. The Franz Bardon series of books on Magical Arts, Initiation into Hermetics (IIH), The Practice of Magical Evocation (PME), and The Key to the True Qabalah (KTQ), are considered by many as the most lucid and actionable written material on Hermetic practice. Initiation into Hermetics consists of a short introduction on theory and ten detailed lessons on practice covering work on the Mental, Astral, and Physical bodies. These lessons progress from very basic mental concentration and thought control practices through to advanced exploration of elemental and planetary realms and the merging with Unity. In A Bardon Companion, Rawn Clark combines two versions of his commentaries for each of the ten steps in IIH, additional commentaries on PME and KTQ, as well as years of correspondence with students of the Bardon system. It is an essential guide for anyone interested in exploring the Bardon system of Hermetics. Rawn Clark is a writer and video producer who dedicates his work to magical practice in general and providing support material for practitioners of the Bardon system. He began pursuing Bardon's system of Hermetic Initiation in the early 1980s at the age of 25. Years later he became involved in online blogging and discussion groups surrounding the Bardon work. He has emerged as one of the leading mentors for this system. His writings are clear, practical, and leavened with a gentle touch and humor. His work dispels many of the misconceptions associated with esoteric practice and makes the Bardon system available to anyone willing to put in the necessary consistent effort. More information about Rawn Clark's work can be found at: Rawn Clark's YouTube Channel: www.youtube.com, A Bardon Companion on Amazon: www.amazon.com, Franz Bardon on Wikipedia: en.wikipedia.org.

On Thursday January 30th, 2020 the Hermetic Hour with host Poke Runyon will present a discussion on the beginning of magical training which we sometimes call "Franz Bardon for Dummies". We will certainly concede our debt to Bardon, and to Crowley but we will point out our improvements in their programs and explain the psychological and physical factors involved in conjuration to visible appearance, creative visualization, trance states, scrying and channeling and other skills and techniques the magician needs to master. So if you really want to know how to DO IT, remember the wisdom of the Sphinx who said: "In order for you to learn our teachings, we must first teach you how to learn." He also said:"He who doubts his powers, only lends power to his doubts."

Sean Bardon and Joe Lynch discuss the empty container marketplace. Sean is the Co-founder and COO at Qualle, The world's first empty container marketplace that connects exporters, importers, trucking companies, and steamship lines. Using Qualle's technology, supply chains run more effectively, more efficiently, and less greenhouse gases are released into the atmosphere. About Sean Bardon Sean Bardon is the Co-founder and COO at Qualle, The world's first empty container marketplace truckers actually use. Sean is a bilingual start-up veteran who's worked in China with the Beijing Silicon Valley Group, leading the logistical planning of multiple joint ventures. After gaining vital international experience in manufacturing and transpacific shipping, he took on a variety of roles back in the U.S. managing freight and drayage trucking operations for enterprise clients like Amazon, Samsung, and Apple. Sean earned a bachelor degrees in Chinese Studies and International Business at University at Albany, SUNY and completed post graduate studies in Chinese at Princeton and Beijing Normal University. About Qualle Since launching in May 2022, Qualle has quickly built up a substantial trucker base that spans from the LA and Long Beach ports to New York, New Jersey, Savannah, Houston, and Memphis ports. Truckers can use Qualle to manage and request street turns with multiple steamship lines at the click of a button. They can also access additional empty equipment or offer up their surplus equipment in a documented and secure place, the empty container marketplace. This saves them a lot of time and money running their operations. With this marketplace, Qualle has become the leading empty container management platform that connects truckers, exporters, importers, and steamship lines. The team at Qualle aim to streamline the traditionally fragmented drayage space by connecting and sharing more data between these stakeholders with the end goal of keeping containers moving. Key Takeaways: The Empty Container Marketplace Sean Bardon is the Co-founder and COO at Qualle, The world's first empty container marketplace truckers actually use. In the podcast interview, Sean and Joe discuss the empty container marketplace and the importance of efficiency, visibility, and sustainability when moving shipping containers. Sean, the Qualle team, and major steamship lines have collaborated to develop an empty container marketplace powered by Qualle's technology. Shipping containers are the building blocks of the supply chain, yet we don't do a great job managing those containers. The poor management of containers drives extra costs, wasted time, empty miles for trucking companies, and excess pollution. By connecting the four major stakeholders in drayage, Qualle is helps to the container moving: Exporters gain access to more capacity and equipment. Steamship lines improve container velocity through flexible connected transactions. Trucking Companies are able secure the container equipment they need. Importers free up yard space and reduce their overall costs. Using Qualle's technology, supply chains run more effectively, more efficiently, and less greenhouse gases are released into the atmosphere. Mister Kindness Podcast 41.Joining us from Sydney, Australia is award winning author and all round good guy James Vella Bardon. Despite being a family man with a full time career in the corporate world, James somehow finds the time to be a prolific writer. His first novel, The Sheriff's Catch, I had the pleasure to read recently. I love historical fiction and it's a barnstorming page-turner, meticulously researched. It follows the exploits of Abel de Santiago and tells the story of the Spanish Armada from the Spaniards' perspective. Hellbent on revenge on those who wronged him, Santi goes on a full-blown, Liam Neeson style rampage across Holland, Spain and Ireland. It's really good. I'm pleased to say it's the first of 5 novels in the Sassana Stone series and I'm looking forward to reading the second instalment, A Rebel North, which is released in August. You can find The Sheriff's Catch on Audible, Amazon, etc. or order from his website https://jamesvellabardon.com/Follow him on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/jvb.novelistFollow us on Instagram https://www.instagram.com/misterkindness_pod Please subscribe on YouTube https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCg8snrvTqs8_AjgIq_sIsMg Mis ter Kindness on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/njohn.kindness.9onLow No Drinker Magazine PodcastMeeting the people & brands leading the low-&-no-alcohol revolution!Listen on: Apple Podcasts Spotify

This episode's guest is someone who rarely gives interviews so it is an exceptional pleasure to welcome Rawn Clark who also practices what he preaches and since starting in the 1990s has written quite a large number of influential books on meditation, healing, and self-knowledge. Actually, Rawn who might be best-known for his work ‘A Bardon Companion: Initiation Into Hermetics' has just published his most recent book ‚Book of Aries: Magic of Essential Meaning & The Path of Brilliance' and of course we will talk about this and his other works as well such as ‘The 231 Gates of Initiation: & The 32 Paths of Wisdom Tarot', ‘Permutations of the Tree: The 182 Gates of the Gra Tree of Life' and ‘Love Letter to a Dying World: A Handbook for Humanity'. Some of our listeners may know Rawn from his website through which he has done a wonderful job to promote the theories and practices of Czech Republic occult practitioner and magician Franz Bardon who has written three main books ‘Initiation into Hermetics', ‘The Practice of Magical Evocation' and The True Quabbalah'. Although new content is not being added anymore, the website remains a great resource for anyone who aims to dig further into Bardon and his work, you can find the address in the show notes. FRANZ BARDON Born in 1958 in Oklahoma, Rawn spent most of his life in California and his earliest memories include himself being out in the woods experiencing nature and having the sense of the world being a magical place. Growing up in a family of agnostic Unitarian atheists he found an encouraging environment and started out with reading Carlos Castaneda, going on to devour books on occultism in his 20s. While Rawn was working as a house cleaner in the 1980s he discovered two books in a library he was in at that moment. One was Aleister Crowley's ‘Magic in Theory and Practice' and the other was Franz Bardon's ‘Inititation into Hermetics'. He borrowed them but was not able to finish the first one so he picked up the second and hasn't really put it down ever since. In this episode we will talk a lot about what exactly it is that makes Bardon's works still so relevant and attractive for the 21st century practitioner. Rawn will generously share his personal experiences with the Bardon method, telling us how he felt about the transformations and the contacts. We will also point out differences between Bardon's system and classical hermeticism and touch upon the various fluids behind the elements where he borrowed a lot from modern physics. As many people find sticking with Bardon's 10-step-system demanding to say at least, Rawn aims to demystify some expectations and preconceptions of this work. Furthermore, he will give us some insights what it really takes to advance with it in terms of time and dedication and define initiation itself as well. Rawn's books on Amazon The backup-copy of the famous "A Bardon Companion" website This is NOT a picture of Rawn Clark, but of EMIL STEJNAR Stejnar is reckoned to be the successor of the famous magician Franz Bardon. (english webpage here) I have often been asked if his books were also available in English. Well, now finally eight of them are, the others in preparation. Here is a link to the ENGLISH language page of the website where his book are presented. Music played in this episode 1) THE CONCEPT OF YOU AND I - Lars Lowe (Track starts at 6:16) 2) INCANTATION "IN PRINCIPIO" - Heather Dale (Track starts at 50:49) 3) HARD - Akerman
In the mid 90's there was an explosion of bands coming out of Brisbane and gaining attention both nationally and internationally. There were four big bands leading the way - of course you know Dave McCormack aka Bandit's band Custard, along with Powderfinger, Regurgitator and Screamfeeder. When Screamfeeder found themselves on high rotation on Triple J (the national youth radio station) in 1996, the band were based in the inner north-west of Brisbane - Paddington, Bardon, Milton and Red Hill - the suburbs that Bluey is now showing off to the world. Justin sat down with frontman Tim Steward on the deck at Ashgrove Library to chat about their 30 year history, the Brisbane music scene and their new album 'Five Rooms'. To pre-order 'Five Rooms' and peruse other Screamfeeder merch please visit their https://screamfeeder.com/shop/ (web store.)
