In this episode I speak about my personal experience and how having a home that was not pretty (by my own standards) affected my mental health, along with information I learned from a couple studies and articles. Esta semana me senté a platicar con Cynthia Moreno, an award winning journalist and the Press Secretary para el Speaker of the California Assembly. This week's episode is a little different from our usual Lucy content (although there is a Lucy connection.) We are focusing on the mysterious death of one of Old Hollywood's leading men, George Reeves. As he was beloved starring in one of the most iconic roles, Superman in the Adventures of Superman, his mysterious death in 1959 has left more questions than answers that to this day don't sit right nor are accepted with fans, enthusiasts and Hollywood historians alike. We discuss the multiple possibilities of what happened the night George Reeves died, the mishandling by police and the frustrating mystery that still remains. •• Please rate and review our podcast! ••• Connect with all things 'Having A Ball' ••• YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCDXuCxbfhUNJzJ_8wMfMD_w/featured Having A Ball Podcast on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Having-a-Ball-Podcast-103319291812682 Having A Ball Podcast on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/havingaballpod/ Erika on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/erikamurrietta/ Erika on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/erika.murrietta.3 Erika on Twitter: https://twitter.com/erikamurrietta Ziva on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/luciana.ehrlinger Ziva on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ziva_e/ Email: havingaballpod@gmail.com ••• Photos: CBS/ Getty/ Desilu Produced by: Erika Murrietta Music provided by: Feather Duster via SilvermanSound https://www.silvermansound.com/free-music/feather-duster
Danny es un restaurantero que empezó vendiendo tamales con su familia en los parking lots de Walmart, to now owning and operating a food truck, two restaurants and about to open the 3rd one. Tuvimos una gran platica acerca de la originalidad, de la necesidad de crear procesos para tener éxito en los proyectos y de como nuestra generación is getting closer to finally accepting that we are all a mix of cultures. Danny shared how proud he is of where he comes from, and how he believes that what he and his family have accomplished es en gran parte parte gracias a su abuelita, que también fue emprendedora y les marcó el rumbo a el y su familia antes de que ellos llegaran a USA. Lucy goes into high-gear anxiety thinking she's not legally married to Ricky due to a misspelling. This week's chat centers around the second marriages of Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz. After their marriage ended, they both went on to find love and marry others. Lucy married comedian Gary Morton and Desi married Edith Hirsch. Our episode today really is a chat about what we know about them pre-and post Lucy and Desi as information of their upbringing is scarce. ¡Hola! Today's special episode is a biography of Desi Arnaz entirely in Spanish (narrated by Erika). As one of the very first Latin faces on American television, Desi had to break many boundaries, stereotypes and prove the initial naysayers wrong. In this mini biography (that certainly does not cover every genius move, every groundbreaking negotiation, or every credit well-deserved), we learn a bit about his upbringings, his start on broadway and of course, his written-in-the-stars encounter with the legendary Lucille Ball. We speak of his successes and innovations while creating I Love Lucy. A video of this episode with stunning images of all thing Lucy and Desi can be found on our YouTube channel.
