This lecture discusses key ideas from the 20th Century American science-fiction short story writer and novelist, Philip K. Dick's novel The Man In The High Castle It focuses specifically on the experience that Nobusuke Tagomi has when he concentrates on a piece of jewelry produced by the Edfrank company in the park, and finds himself transported to an alternate America in a world in which the Allies won the war instead of losing it. The experience allows him to recenter himself from his trauma resulting from killing the two SD Kommandos in the Nippon Times Building. This lecture discusses key ideas from the 20th Century American science-fiction short story writer and novelist, Philip K. Dick's novel The Man In The High Castle It focuses specifically on a plot-point only revealed in the last third of the book, but which has been set up as Tagomi organizes a meeting between the Swedish Baynes (actually the Abwehr agent Wegner) and retired Japanese general Tedeki). Baynes/Wegner reveals the existence and readiness of a Nazi plot for attaining world domination, Operation Dandelion, which involves a massive nuclear attack on Japan. This poses a dilemma, since Goebels, who is in process of consolidating his power, is in favor of Operation Dandelion, but Heydrich and the SD/SS are against the operation. Wegner suggests that the Japanese government should support the "most malignant part of German society", Heydrich and the police. This means collaborating with evil in order to prevent evil of a different sort and on a greater scale. This lecture discusses key ideas from the 20th Century American science-fiction short story writer and novelist, Philip K. Dick's novel The Man In The High Castle It focuses specifically on one of the most central characters in the work, one who arguably provides the most consistent moral perspective throughout the novel, Nobusuke Tagomi, who is a Trade Mission official in the Pacific States of America. He is a person who values ethical action and intentions, and who is repulsed by the evil he sees the Nazis engaged in throughout the work. Tagomi also relies upon the Oracle (the Book of Changes or I Jing) throughout the narrative, but is also able to act upon his own when he considers the possibility of the world being abandoned by it. Dick's novel The Man In The High Castle It focuses specifically on the role that the ancient Chinese work and practice of divination, The Book Of Changes (Yi Jing/I Ching), generally referred to as "The Oracle". It is used by a number of the characters in the Pacific States of America and in the Rocky Mountain States within the novel, and for more than one purpose. Nobusuke Tagomi, Frank Frink, and Juliana Frink consult the oracle for guidance in preparing for and making decisions about important matters. The Context of White Supremacy hosts the 6th and final study session on Philip K. Dick's The Man in the High Castle. Published in 1962, Dick's award-winning science fiction novel is lauded as one of the greatest of all time. Dick is a White Man who died forty years ago at the age of 53, but left an enormous legacy in White literature. In addition to being a torrid writer, Dick was also a drug addict and UFO enthusiast. His substance dependency may help explain his sordid imagination and focus on alternate worlds. Last week's session saw Mr. Tagomi kills two Nazi "thugs" to protect Mr. Baynes and himself. Baynes divulged the Nazi's "Operation Dandelion," which intended to overthrow the Japanese empire to create one Nazi universe. Afterwards, Tagomi feels intense guilt and can no longer possess the Civil War firearm used in the killing. He attempts to return it to Mr. Childan, who refuses to accept the return now that he's aware of the numerous fraudulent pistols. Tagomi instead purchases one of the EdFrink jewels to help restore his sense of balance. After fondling the item, Tagomi somehow falls into the "real" 1962. He tries to boss around Whites, who treat him brusquely and brand him "Tojo" - the name of Gen. Hideki Tojo, who was executed as a war criminal following World War II. Meanwhile, Juliana slits Joe's throat once she finds out he's a spy en route to kill Hawthorne Abendsen. #Tojo #TheMan INVEST in The COWS – http://paypal.me/TheCOWS Cash App: https://cash.app/$TheCOWS CALL IN NUMBER: 720.716.7300 CODE: 564943#

Hundreds of institutions are looking to Coinbase as a trusted, publicly-traded exchange to create tailored crypto solutions for them. Now, as traditional finance firms begin to deploy capital into crypto services, Coinbase sees itself at the forefront of facilitating that institutional adoption. “I think we're moving away from the designation of Coinbase as an exchange to being a much more complex organization,” said Coinbase's Greg Tusar, whose crypto brokerage startup Tagomi was acquired last year. On this episode of The Scoop, Coinbase head of institutional sales Brett Tejpaul and head of institutional product Greg Tusar join for a discussion on Coinbase's pace of growth to meet client demand and how the company is building itself into a full-scale prime broker. “We're focused more on the future of finance and DeFi,” said Tejpaul of Coinbase's goal to combine its custodianship, exchange, brokerage and DeFi services for institutional clients. He went on to say that they have filled out some 250 requests for proposals from clients to build crypto products for their firms. The longest such RFP is a whopping 800 questions long, according to Tejpaul.  The execs also touched on Coinbase's role in growing retail interest in stablecoins and altcoins, citing how some 75% of clients own more than Bitcoin, 80% own some Ethereum and Tejpaul estimated that 50% of that group also own at least 5 or more cryptocurrencies. The company is also focusing on growing its product base by creating a variety of familiar instruments for traditional finance institutions, which include providing means for institutions to gain sub-custody, tap into stablecoin utility to leverage DeFi protocols, and by creating capabilities for DeFi, smart contracts, and NFTs for broad institutional participation. When Tagomi came out of stealth mode in 2018, the need for a crypto prime broker was a commonplace talking point in the digital asset world. An independent broker, sitting in between the spine-tingling market and investors, would help lure larger asset managers to bitcoin, pundits said. Indeed, two years later even Tagomi has been disappointed by the lack of asset managers in the market and their focus on best execution, although important, is no longer core. Still, even though the firm's conception of a crypto prime broker has changed, it sees other opportunities on the horizon. In this episode of The Scoop we explore: How the firm has adapted when the institutional wave of asset managers fell apart How the notion of a crypto prime broker has changed since the company's founding How Tagomi can serve traditional technology companies entering the market, such as Facebook Libra and Robinhood Examine the on-boarding process for large institutional investors Why the firm does not want to service retail clientele  Why the firm is bullish on Libra

Jennifer Campbell and Kevin Johnson, cofounder and COO, respectively, of Tagomi, describe how Tagomi helps institutional players make larger crypto trades more efficiently and at the best price possible, plus analyze how that was executed. They contrast it with the pre-Tagomi process for doing large crypto trades, how their software, which functions as a sort of "Kayak.com" for crypto trading, works on the backend, and how they keep funds held on exchanges secure. Plus, we compare today's crypto trading infrastructure to the early days of electronic trading in traditional financial markets, and look down the road at how they'll accommodate trends such as staking and decentralized exchanges.
