Tony Braunagel, Terry Wilson & Snuffy Walden Live on Game Changers With Vicki Abelson What do you get when you Zoom with three amigos from Texas who go back over 50 years? A whole lot of fun, rock stories galore, and a ton of love. The Grammy, Emmy, BMI, and Blues Award Winning trio of Snuffy Walden, Tony Braunagel, and Terry Wilson took us back to the 60s in Houston, playing at the Cellar, a strip club in Houston, Tony and Terry off with Johnny Nash and Snuffy off with Stray Dog to open for Emerson, Lake and Palmer. They all ended up in London, there was Rabbit, Paul Kossoff, Free, Back Street Crawler, Pete Townshend, and Eric Burdon for all of them, at least twice. Some great war stories along the way… there was Michael Ruff, some crashed cars and trashed hotel rooms. Tony took us through his time with Rickie Lee Jones, Bonnie Raitt, and The Blues Brothers backup band, leading to be an actor and musician on According to Jim. Snuffy getting Chaka Khan, Donna Summers and then segueing to TV, Thirty Something and The Wonder Years, his first foray in––both Emmy-winning shows that year, leading to the West Wing and his own Emmy. Terry partnering with Teresa James in music and in life, their Grammy nod, his song-writing, producing through his latest for Back Street Crawler's Terry Slesser which reunited him with Tony and Terry. They've shared many stages and sessions over the years, but it's their rock-solid friendship borne in decades-long history that sweetens their song. What a joy to be in their joy. A great time was had by all. Lucky me and you to be a fly on that wall. The news of Texas covered today includes:Our Lone Star story of the day: The BurrowCrat Coalition posits an interesting charge: The Republican House Caucus is “broken.” The problem is that if you read Rep. Terry Wilson's op-ed backing BurrowCrat Burrows for Speaker of the House, he never gives any evidence at all of anything “broken” in the caucus other than that the majority didn't support his candidate. Also, he repeats the lie that something was amiss with not being granted a “brief recess” once the voting process had already started. I address this oft repeated misdirection.I also address the how the press, in many recent stories, left out the paramount issue with the Bonnen-Burrows scandal of a few years back. It's what they leave out that should give pause to members support Burrows. Dustin Burrows risks big to seek Texas House speakership Q&A with Texas House speaker candidate Dustin Burrows Dustin Burrows believes opposition by fellow Republicans won't block path to House speaker Texas House speaker candidate Dustin Burrows rejects claim that he is a tool of Democrats Our Lone Star story of the day is sponsored by Allied Compliance Services providing the best service in DOT, business and personal drug and alcohol testing since 1995.Fort Worth liberal Democrat Councilman Nettles says the release of a recording is to “tarnish his name.” Funny, I think it's what he is recorded as saying that tarnishes his already murky reputation.SpaceX's Starlink revenue in 2025 now projected to be $11.8 billion. T-Mobile initiates direct-cell-to-satellite texting using Starlink. Europe to spend $11 billion to build its own Starlink government constellation. Terry Wilson shares his incredible journey from a tough upbringing in St. Louis to becoming a member of the Special Forces. He dispels the myth that military heroes have had it easy, and instead, reveals how his difficult background fueled his relentless drive to succeed. Along the way, we discuss how the challenges and struggles faced by many military personnel are often the very things that propel them to greatness. Owning a business in today's digital landscape comes with its own set of trials. We explore the necessity of social media for authentic marketing and the power of sharing both success and failure to genuinely connect with an audience. Through personal reflections on past trauma and the pressures of maintaining stability, we highlight the resilience required to overcome adversity. Wilson's transition from a challenging childhood to a demanding military career underscores pivotal moments of personal growth and transformation. Rebuilding after hardship demands more than physical strength; it requires a focus on mental health, self-care, fitness, and healthy eating. In this episode, we discuss the importance of recognizing red flags like anger and anxiety, and the need for early intervention and support systems. The conversation extends to post-military entrepreneurship, emphasizing the value of time over money, and the critical role of mentorship and community involvement. In 1991, two British men shocked the world when they confessed to hoaxing all the famous crop circles found in England in recent years. However, a detailed examination of their claims shows that these men could not possibly have started the crop circle phenomenon, and probably had nothing to do with the famous circles in Wiltshire, England, or anywhere else. Teresa James & Terry Wilson Live on Game Changers with Vicki Abelson They may sing the blues but they sure make me happy. Grammy nominees Teresa James and Terry Wilson treated us to our first live mini-concert in Game Changers history. And it was spectacular! With their brand new album of reimagined Beatle songs, With a Little Help From Her Friends, which debuted at #9 on the Billboard Blues chart at the fore, the last third of the show was devoted to cuts from said album, and one of my favorites of theirs, Don't Make A Habit of It. Joining them was longtime Rhythm Tramps guitarist Billy Watts (Eric Burdon, John Mayall), and drummer, Richard Millsap (currently touring with John Fogerty). Special thanks to Louie Kovic for making it happen. Celebrating Teresa's nomination for Contemporary Female Blues Artist of the Year, from The Blues Foundation, we talked their early years in Texas, separately and eventually together. Terry, who goes back with my beau, 50+ years, then London calling and forming Back Street Crawler with Paul Kosoff (Free) and John Bundrick (The Who), to playing with Eric Burdon, which Teresa eventually did as well. There were lots of bands, sessions, and tours for both, with parenting taking precedence for a number of years, limiting Teresa's roading for a spell. She recorded with Eric Burdon, Spencer Davis, Tommy Castro, Stephen Bruton, Randy Newman, Neil Diamond, and many others and performed with Levon Helm, Lloyd Jones, Delbert McClinton, and Eric Burdon & the Animals to mention just a few, and did many before-mentioned sessions. A gifted and proficient songwriter, composer, producer, and bassist, Terry never stops working and creating. Numerous albums for different artists are currently in the works and another upcoming kick-ass studio album with Teresa and the Rhythm Tramps will drop in September. Teresa James and The Rhythm Tramps play regularly in LA. For upcoming shows, music, and access to all things James/Wilson visit TeresaJames.com These folks are the real deal. The music, the songs, that voice. WOW! I could listen to them all day. And many days, I do! Tim Person, is your host for this episode of the kdhx podcast Tangazo, with another discussion on the importance of the upcoming November the 8th, midterm elections. ——— Our guest for this episode of Tangazo, are the African American leadership, of the St. Louis County Council. County Council Chairman, Rita Heard Days of the 1st district and County Council Vice Chairman, Shalonda Webb, of the 4th St. louis County Council district. —— Tim, does an excellent job, of discussing the various races in St. Louis county and St. Louis city, including the race for County Executive and President of the St. Louis Board of Aldermen, all while stressing the importance of, black voter turnout. ——— There's also much discussion about the importance of the race, for the US Senate between Democrat, Bush Valentine and her MAGA supported Republican opponent, Missouri State Attorney General,Eric Schmidt. ——- Surprisingly, neither County Council Chairman Days, nor County Council Vice Chairman Webb, have been asked to lend their support to their fellow Democrat, Bush Valentine. ——— Not only are we surprised but we are indeed disappointed, that with so much on the line, petty selfish politics, trumps everything else. ------ Rita Days and Shalonda Webb represent two County Council districts, where 85 to 90% of black voters reside in St Louis County. ------ Days is fresh off of a primary victory, that saw her beat her so called progressive backed candidate, Terry Wilson ,2 to 1. Days rolled over her opposition, who had the support of the County Executive, Sam Page, the so called Progressives, our black newspaper, the Unity pac and everything else, that they could throw, at the former 2 term State Senator and 4 term State Representative. To say that she has the overwhelming support of African Americans in her county district, is an understatement! ------ Shalonda Webb, won her seat on the St. Louis County Council by defeating Rochelle Walton and her father Elbert A Walton Jr's, well organized Unity PAC. Days and Webb are without a doubt, the two most powerful African Americans, in St. Louis County government, ignoring these two black Democratic leaders, with so much on the line in these midterm elections, is nothing but petty selfish politics, doing candidate Bush Valentine and the Democratic Party, a serious disservice, that could have serious national consequences. ——— Democrat Bush Valentine, will not prevail against MAGA supported Republican candidate, Eric Schmidt, without a massive turnout of black voters, in the red state of Missouri, in the upcoming November 8th midterm elections! Former US Congressman Bill Clay sr. wrote a book titled, “No Permanent Friends No permanent Enemies,” some of these people need to read it! ———
