Leighton is off this week, so we are highlighting one of his favourite guests from the podcast. Dr Tim Ball Part 2 on the politics behind the climate change alarmism. As I have said so often, there is new information almost every day, some of it vital. However, it rarely appears in the mainstream media. Two examples since I spoke with Dr Ball. On September 6, the Secretary General of the World Meteorological Society says he does not accept arguments of climate alarmists that the end of the world is at hand. Then with no connection to the above, Stanford University's Dr Patrick Frank published a peer reviewed paper that demonstrates that climate models have no predictive value. Tim Ball is again the whole podcast. File your comments and complaints at Leighton@newstalkzb.co.nz Haven't listened to a podcast before? Check out our simple how-to guide. Judith Curry joins us to chat about Climate Uncertainty and Risk and the commons sense solutions to our global warming and climate change. We chat about climategate and how she became skeptical of the narrative and realized this was not a workable solution. We chat about C02 and if it actually creates warming, the forecast models, propaganda from the alarmists, what happened to Tim Ball, dismissing the grand solar maximum, why this new 'heat index' is in the media now, the heat measuring stations and the issue with them, forecast models, net zero and the problem with rapid transition. In the second half we chat about India and China, wind and solar, LNG, electrifying Africa, fixing poverty vs supposed climate change solutions, localized risk management and solutions, nuclear, new technologies, problems with getting wind and solar approved in USA, and NASA. Are chemtrails real? Does geoengineering and weather modification have an impact? Will carbon taxing work? What about ESG? What about climate tech and informatech? We also talk about group think, politics in science, risk perception, covid and climate change, Agenda 21 and Agenda 2030, letting the markets take care of some of this and will there be an expertise crisis? Climate Etc. is hosted by Judith Curry. "Climate Uncertainty and Risk: Rethinking Our Response" is her latest book. Judith is President (co-owner) of Climate Forecast Applications Network (CFAN). Previously, I was Professor and Chair of the School of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Climate Etc. is hosted by Judith and provides a forum for climate researchers, academics and technical experts from other fields, citizen scientists, and the interested public to engage in a discussion on topics related to climate science and the science-policy interface. 5:00 We note the passing of 'climate crisis' debunker Dr. Tim Ball, who supported us on Kick-Fm and Shaw-TV. Here is one of his excellent videos. 11:30 The flyer of St. Boniface candidate Marcel Boille makes some important points about how St. B has lost out by joining Unicity and watching their tax dollars go to "Winnipeg" and got nothing in return except for spiraling crime rates and deteriorating services. He touts separation but Spirited Kenny doesn't think it's very realistic (Headingley anyone?) 22:00 Glen Murray claims the city has gone to shit and only he can fix it, BUT he always A) leaves out the responsibility of Mayor Brian Bowman and B) never mentions that the first thing he did when he retruned to the city in 2018 was to... endorse Brian Bowman. Listen to Bowman's hint why Murray won't dare speak truth to power at City Hall. 25:40 Glen Murray tried to guilt Winnipeggers into picking up the tab to restore Thunderbird House. we tell the truth about why it failed - a $40k air conditioner it didn't need and irresponsible governance. Meanwhile Robbie Ouellette says he'd move the Mayor's office there. 37:00 - The media loves to tell about how *certain* politicians endured childhood poverty and family struggles, but the Free Press proves that it isn't only the kind of 'disadvantaged' folks usually promoted. Hear of 2 unexpected tales of mayoral hopefuls who overcame the odds to build successful careers, Kevin Klein (who spent time in a Sally Ann shelter) in corporate media, and Jenny Motkaluk - who went to University at age 16 and earned advanced science degrees before her successful careers in sales and business consulting. 47:25 - CBC has a list of Mayoral campaign planks and a discussion about how complete/accurate it is. For instance the Motkaluk housing plan had a 'help the homeless' component CBC missed, but she is way ahead in Arts and Culture proposals; meanwhile the Scott Gillingham camp was satisfied overall but added a few notes we pass along. 52:00 - RFO's transit ideas - like a buck a ride and allowing tap payment - get a good/sceptical look, as does Klein's 'trailers for the homeless' concept. We go over the CBC investigative report on Glen Murray's departure from the Pembina Institute which Marty also discussed here. Was this Murray's "Principal Skinner" moment? Tom Brodbeck rejected his apology and Kenny remarked "It's the same old Glen no matter where he goes." We then recap the Motkaluk promises to fudn the Sanat Claus parade and other events like Cruise Nites to build civic spirit. 1:10:50 - Part 2 Crime, crime and more crime - and 2 more murders. Marty thinks this election may lead to a serious discussion of the concept of Unicity as a whole.

We wanted to repost this interview from December 2018 with some pretext. Original article: Josh Sigurdson talks with Dr. Tim Ball, PhD about the vast propaganda forced on the public via the media and the government regarding climate change (or global warming, or global cooling, whatever it is this week). Dr.Ball who was a professor from the geography department at the University of Winnipeg and is one of the leading voices against the anthropogenic global warming fear has been studying climate for half a century and has published multiple books on the subject, investigating why this propaganda is shoved onto the populace and what it will lead to. Having debated people like Elizabeth May, Dr. Ball is a wealth of information on the subject. He debunks the 97% consensus which he points out, if there's a consensus it's not science. This all goes back to the United Nations, the IPCC and The Club of Rome with Maurice Strong, Gro Harlem Brundtland and others plotting to restrict industry, create a problem, a reaction and a solution and force the populace into complete dependency which we are seeing today with the green agenda. Of course government is the world's biggest polluter and they have the nerve to tell us how to live with crippling taxes and regulation with very little to no understanding of the ramifications and real world problems. Dr. Ball breaks down as much as he can in just under an hour. We are sure to have him back again soon to break this down further. It's so incredibly extensive it's impossible to fit in under 10 hours. Seriously! Stay tuned for more from WAM! Hr 1: Legislator in Virginia explains that her abortion bill would allow babies to be aborted right up to the point that the baby is BORN! Pure evil! AND... Lawrence Peck, expert in North Korean affairs, believes that Kim Jong Un takes President Trump seriously and that's why Kim has been willing to make changes to work with the U.S. Hr 2: Dr. Tim Ball, author of "Human Caused Global Warming: The Biggest Deception In History" says every climate prediction since 1990 has been wrong. If your predictions are wrong, your science is wrong. Hr 3: Remember when abortion was a last resort? Not anymore! Now states are working to make sure it's on-demand until birth. VA abortion bill defeated? Not really. They "tabled" the bill. So it isn't dead. It's just been paused. Don't let up the pressure! Have you had your healthy dose of reality lately?
Would You Like A Little Global Warming? Today's topics include: if you're a skeptic like John, you'd point to the weather around the country right now and ask what happened to global warming...though, you'd probably be laughed at, followed by a statement that it's now called 'climate change'; next, Dr. Tim Ball (former geography professor at Winnipeg University, author, and can be found at drtimball.ca) joins the show to talk about a recent article he co-authored on PJ Media, discussing why the drastic cold weather, which much of the U.S. is facing today, is one more reason to re-think the whole 'global warming' thing; and finally, Melanie Isreal (research associate in the DeVos Center for Religion and Civil Society at The Heritage Foundation) talks about new bills trying to be put in place by the Democrats, which would allow legal abortions all the way up to the end of the third trimester.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
COP24 has come to a close with a bare consensu on a set of rules to curb climate change. There have been changes in the political world since the 2015 Paris Accord, which may have affected the results of the conference. And there are questions about the proposed "climate damages tax." Dr. Tim Ball explains more. Guest: Dr. Tim Ball, climatologist and author of 'The Deliberate Corruption of Climate Science' See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
The Mind Renewed : Thinking Christianly in a New World Order
By popular demand, we welcome back Dr. Tim Ball—a "retired" lecturer in geography and historical climatology at the University of Winnipeg, and now perhaps the most entertaining and informative after-dinner speaker on the planet—for a second conversation on his "new adages for the technocratic era". During the last conversation, Dr. Ball said that maybe we would need a second programme to cover his adages adequately. Many listeners picked up on that, and asked me to invite him back for a second chat. So I did, and here it is—another fun, wide-ranging and provocative conversation. "Adages are proverbs, or short memorable statements, expressing a general truth, usually based on experience. Many have no relevance to the modern world, such as "Don't look a Gift Horse in the mouth", but many are still useful: “Where there is smoke there is fire.” What we need are new adages for the modern technocratic age."--Tim Ball, "New Adages for the Technocratic Era". This week we welcome back to the programme the inimitable Dr. Tim Ball—a "retired" lecturer in geography and historical climatology at the University of Winnipeg, and now perhaps the most entertaining and informative after-dinner speaker on the planet—for a fun, wide-ranging, thought-provoking (and, at times, provocative) conversation on his "new adages for the technocractic era". Many have no relevance to the modern world, such as "Don't look a Gift Horse in the mouth", but many are still useful: “Where there is smoke there is fire.” What we need are new adages for the modern technocratic age."--Tim Ball, "New Adages for the Technocratic Era". The Mind Renewed : Thinking Christianly in a New World Order
This week we conclude our two-part interview with Dr. Tim Ball, "retired" lecturer in geography and historical climatology at the University of Winnipeg, Canada. In this second part we move on to discuss the "hottest year on record" phenomenon, the question of data tampering in climate science, and the recent statement by Dr. John Bates that significant research challenging the (roughly) 20-year "pause" in global warming was (in his view) flawed. [In part one we discussed issues surrounding the lawsuit brought against Dr. Ball by the climatologist Dr. Michael E. Mann; Strategic Lawsuits Against Public Participation (SLAPPs); Dr. Ball's experience of having recently been invited to Washington in connection with Trump's transtion team on the Environmental Protection Agency; the EPA's future under Trump; and the political "hot potato" question of the relationship between Big Oil and Climate Scepticism.] (For show notes please visit http://themindrenewed.com)

This week we are once again joined by Dr. Tim Ball, "retired" lecturer in geography and climatology at the University of Winnipeg, for the first instalment of a two-part conversation on the ever-turbulent relationship between climate science and politics. We discuss issues surrounding the lawsuit brought against Dr. Ball by the climatologist Dr. Michael E. Mann; Strategic Lawsuits Against Public Participation (SLAPPs); Dr. Ball's experience of having recently been invited to Washington in connection with Trump's transtion team on the Environmental Protection Agency; the EPA's future under Trump; and the political "hot potato" question of the relationship between Big Oil and Climate Scepticism. The Mind Renewed : Thinking Christianly in a New World Order
This week we are once again joined by Dr. Tim Ball, retired professor of Historical Climatology at the University of Winnipeg, for a characteristically fun and fascinating conversation on the subject of Educational Ergonomics. What is education? What is it for? And−a question that increasing numbers of people are asking in these days of rising student debt and increasing unemployment−who is it for? Is it primarily for the student, whether in school or college, or has it become in large measure a socially-acceptable form of structural unemployment to help keep the wheels of the State turning? The Mind Renewed : Thinking Christianly in a New World Order
This week we are once again joined by Dr. Tim Ball, retired professor of Climatology at the University of Winnipeg, for a wide-ranging conversation centred in the subject of... maps! Ours is a multidimentional world, yet the ways in which we represent that reality to ourselves - and, perhaps more worryingly, find that reality represented to us by others - is very often "two-dimensional" (speaking both literally and figuratively). Join us as we think about Representation and Reality, and consider some of the problems that can arise when we mistakenly read the Map as if it's faithful to Reality itself. (Please note: The Mind Renewed will now be taking a Half-Term break for two weeks.) (For show notes please visit http://themindrenewed.com)

Confused? Not sure what to believe about science, history, philosophy and everything else? Worry no more! Academia has a system called Peer Review in which experts check new research for "validity, significance and originality" before it appears in respectable journals, so you and I can rest assured that only the very best gets published. But is Peer Review really all it's cracked up to be? Joining us once again is Dr. Tim Ball, retired climatologist from the University of Winnipeg, who explains the many reasons why he believes Peer Review has become at best a useless - and at worst a treacherous - system in which bias, error, dogmatism, cronyism, and even fraud frequently prevent the most important and challenging ideas from seeing the light of day. Whether one agrees, or disagrees, it's difficult not to sympathise with Dr. Ball's conclusion: Peer Review looks like something we could well do without. The Mind Renewed : Thinking Christianly in a New World Order
For a third time we're joined by Dr. Tim Ball, retired professor of Climatology at the University of Winnipeg. As public scepticism towards the theory of human-produced climate change continues to rise, the UN is gradually shifting its focus to a different target for global environmental alarmism: Peak Water. Inspired by Peak Oil theory, and heavily reliant on philosophical assumptions, is Peak Water set to become the new global eco-scare, designed in accordance with the aims of Agenda 21 to persuade the world to embrace a New World Order? The Mind Renewed : Thinking Christianly in a New World Order
We are once again joined by Dr. Tim Ball, retired professor of Climatology at the University of Winnipeg, for a detailed interview on the ideology of human population reduction that has hijacked much of the environmental movement. Ignited by Thomas Malthus in the early 19th Century, and fanned into flame by the Neo-Malthusians of the 1960s and '70s, this anti-humanistic ideology became crystallised in the thinking of The Club of Rome; an elitist group, explains Dr. Ball, which pursued the goals of that ideology through the fabrication of a Big Lie - the theory of man-made global warming - and pressed it all to the service of World Government. "When we allow science to become political then we are lost. We will enter the Internet version of the Dark Ages, an era of stifling fears and wild prejudices, transmitted to people who don't know any better." (Michael Crichton) So prefaced, is the website of Dr. Tim Ball, retired professor of Climatology at the University of Winnipeg, who joins us for an in-depth interview on the history of the politicisation of Climate Science. From the genius of Maurice Strong and the machinations of the IPCC, to the famous Hockey Stick Graph and Climategate, Dr. Ball explains with precision and ease.
