The Nightmare Sequence, featuring poetry by Omar and illustrations by Safdar, is a searing response to the atrocities committed by Israel and its allies in Gaza and beyond since October 2023. Born of collective suffering and despair, the book interrogates the position of witness: the terrible and helpless distance of vision, the impact of being exposed to violence of this scale on a daily basis, and what it means to live in a society that is actively participating in the catastrophic destruction of Arabs and Muslims overseas. Omar is a poet and writer born in Western Sydney to Lebanese and Turkish Muslim migrants. He is the acclaimed author of the novel Son of Sin and three poetry collections, including The Lost Arabs, which won the 2020 Prime Minister's Literary Award for Poetry. Safdar Ahmed is an award-winning artist, writer, musician and cultural worker. Japan's Top Business Interviews Podcast By Dale Carnegie Training Tokyo, Japan
Previously Itai was the Country Manager for Trax Retail, Co-Founder and Acting CEO for ABJ Japan, Managing Director ImpacTech, Director of Business Development APAC Kyodo International Corporation Japan, Sales Manager Moroccanoli Japan, . He has a Masters Degreee in Media and Governance/ Environmental Innovation from Keio Univerity and a BA from Tel Aviv University in East Asian Studies. Itai highlights that Japanese employees value humility in leadership. Foreign leaders should initially adopt a learning mindset, showing a willingness to understand local practices and seek guidance from their teams. Japanese professionals take great pride in their work and expect leaders to appreciate details and technical expertise. A significant challenge for foreign executives is balancing the expectations of headquarters with the slower, consensus-driven decision-making process in Japan. While Western business culture often emphasizes rapid change and assertive leadership, Japan values harmony, long-term relationships, and collective decision-making. Leaders must build trust gradually by engaging in meaningful conversations, demonstrating commitment, and understanding the nuances of Japanese communication, including indirectness and reading between the lines. Another key aspect of leadership in Japan is handling mistakes and fostering innovation. Employees may be hesitant to take risks due to the fear of failure and hierarchical structures. Yanai suggests that leaders should take responsibility for failures while allowing employees to claim success, which encourages innovation and builds trust. Recruiting and retaining talent is another hurdle. Japanese employees tend to prefer well-established companies with clear career progression. Foreign companies or startups must create an appealing work environment by offering stability, opportunities for professional growth, and a sense of purpose beyond just financial compensation. Providing employees with "opportunities" rather than just a job can be a compelling way to attract and retain talent. Additionally, Japan's highly demanding consumer market pushes companies to refine their operations. Many foreign businesses that establish themselves in Japan find that they must adopt higher standards of quality and service, which can ultimately benefit their global operations. In summary, leading in Japan requires patience, cultural sensitivity, and a deep understanding of the local work culture. Effective foreign leaders should be humble, trust-building, and willing to embrace Japan's emphasis on precision, harmony, and long-term relationships to succeed.

Bayani Mills is the Secretary & Acting CEO at the Australian Bitcoin Industry Body, providing advocacy on behalf of their Bitcoin industry members and advancing the adoption and understanding of Bitcoin in Australia. We take a deep dive into Bayani's work with the industry body: educating politicians, making submissions on bills before parliament, and trying to carve out a clear space for Bitcoin in the minds of the public and politicians. Not everybody agrees with the idea of engaging the political leviathan, but as Bayani outlines there can be real consequences to inaction and though Bitcoin functions fine regardless, regressive policy can make life hard for everyday Australians to get started with Bitcoin. --- Connect with The Transformation of Value X: https://x.com/TTOVpodcast Nostr at: npub1uth29ygt090fe640skhc8l34d9s7xlwj4frxs2esezt7n6d64nwsqcmmmu Or send an email to hello@thetransformationofvalue.com and I will get back to you! --- Support The Transformation of Value: Bitcoin tip address: bc1qlfcr2v73tntt6wvyp2yu064egvyeery6xtwy8t Lightning tip address: codyellingham@fountain.fm If you send a tip please email or DM me so I can thank you! --- Credits: Music by Simon James French - https://www.simonjamesfrench.com/ --- Links: Australian Bitcoin Industry Body - https://bitcoinindustrybody.org.au/ Bayani Mills on X - https://x.com/bayanimills

One of the featured projects is Stockholm Wood City, a 250,000 square meter city district whose buildings are entirely made of wood. Another project highlighted is Stockholmshusen, one of the City of Stockholm's largest development projects, which aims to build thousands of new rental apartments. Around 3,300 new rental apartments will be created, spread across 25 different projects. In terms of infrastructure, the expected amount is EUR 32 billion, with key projects including the expansion of the Stockholm metro, Uppsala Light Rail, The East Link and Oslo-Sthlm 2:55. For the period 2003-2019, the total return on real estate in Stockholm has been estimated 9.4 percent per year, according to the report. Many fashion brands and retailers talk a good game on circularity, but will they ever consistently pay a premium for materials made using 100% textile-to-textile recycling? Acting CEO of Renewcell Magnus Håkansson joins Ecotextile Talks to discuss the company's current challenges in receiving a higher price for a product offering the circularity so often discussed at textile sustainability conferences. Despite great industry excitement when Renewcell moved to a full-scale production facility earlier this year, in readiness for full commercialisation, the Swedish innovator has encountered a difficult few months since the summer of 2023. Share prices have tumbled amid concern that the appetite for Renewcell's proprietary Circulose pulp may not perhaps as high as expected - despite several take-off agreements having suggested this would not be an issue. The latest instalment of Ecotextile Talks sets out to better understand the situation behind a slump in optimism about the scaling up of a much-discussed company which aims to help fashion firms move away from linear practices.
