After we covered World's Toughest Mudder we went to Paris to experience France for the first time!  We then took a train to Geneva, Switzerland and drove down to cover the Spartan Ultra World Championship in Morzine, France! This is part 2 of 2 for our coverage which is everything from Saturday!  This features a wedding, the award ceremony, and athlete interviews. Some interviews were more difficult to conduct due to language barriers but I appreciate those who  took the time to talk to us. Translation of Mike (M) and Gregory (G) Basilico's Interview: M: How did your race go today? G: It's my first Ultra, it was in a world championship. I was starting a bit in the unknown because I didn't know how to manage this type of race. The gap increased as the race went on.  I really had a lot of difficulties on the second lap but I surged far far far away at the mental level and said let's do our best and I think that today it's my mind that made the difference to go and get this beautiful victory. I was really really really looking forward to this and I think  that today it's my mind that made the difference to go and get this great victory with the first World Championship title and the 6th overall title M: How does it feel to take 1st, 2nd, and 3rd as French athletes in your country G: Well I am really happy that we can do a triplet. Especially since it has been two years since the Italian Luca Pescullderungg won.  At least now we are putting things back in place.  We are in France, three frenchmen. M: You're no stranger to World Championships, how does it feel to win the ultra? G: What it is, is an accomplishment.  It is a lot of effort and a lot of work. J: Very good, I finished third so I am very happy, in addition my French compatriots who were much stronger today, very happy with the race. M: How does it feel to take a podium on a big stage? J: It was the first time I have had a hard time doing it, and I wanted to but I wasn't mentally ready but I am happy M: Total sweep from France on the podium, how does it feel to have that in your country? J: Yeah, that is it, great! It is our home and we are on the podium, very great so we will enjoy it now M: What did you think about the course with the obstacles today? J: I found it a little easier than the other years.  Maybe I was more fit but it felt easier. I just missed the multirig twice but otherwise everything went well  M: What is next for you for the rest of the year? Alan, Charlie, Leanne & Wil are back to talk all things World's Toughest Mudder 2026 — swapping stories, strategies, and predictions for the big weekend ahead. From pit setups and hydration hacks to obstacle rumours (yes, Netflix & Chill might return

DJ joined us 300 episodes ago after winning World's Toughest Mudder. Fast forward 3 years and he just crossed the finish line of the Cocodona 250 in third place. From OCR athlete to big time Ultra runner, he has embodied the idea of staying the course.

When it comes to DEKA there's one place that we like to go to focus on for coverage and it's Underdog Fitness. There are a  bunch of reasons for this: Mike was coached by Kevin for a while, it's where we did our first DEKA, their athletes are frequently on the podium for DEKA World Championships every year, and they are some of our favorite people in the sport! We went down Saturday night and brought Luci for her first hotel and race experience but as we talked about last episode she ended up getting high and hospitalized and Mike almost got arrested for speeding on the way home. Things were a bit hectic with all that and there were many unintentional Irish Goodbyes but I think we did pretty well with an hour of interviews for coverage. Check out the names below! On one side, being an idiot. On the other, being something less than that. Somehow we have never had Sarah Tucker on the show, this week we remedy that! Our paths crossed with Sarah at World's Toughest Mudder in both 2023 as well as 2024 but she inadvertently dodged the mic at both events.  She joined the MudGear Hannibal Race Pro Team and has been doing very well with elite events in the US! Savage Race reportedly had their best turn out to a race in the past 5 years!  The elite side had a pretty great turn out with an increased payout at the event and when I saw that Tyler Veerman won, I knew that I wanted to have him on the show again! World's Toughest Mudder has found a great home at Belvoir Castle and as many of you know, this was Katelyn's first time running it!
