Health Coach Conversations

In this heartfelt episode of Health Coach Conversations, Cathy Sykora sits down with twin sisters Corinna and Isabelle Scott, the musical duo behind OUR TRUTH. They explore the essence of authenticity, emotional healing, and personal empowerment through the lens of their unique bond and spiritual philosophy. The sisters share how their decade-long separation helped them uncover negative behavioral patterns and, ultimately, brought them closer together through intentional communication and self-reflection. They emphasize the power of appreciation, living in alignment, and stepping out of a victim mindset to create a more loving and authentic life. In this episode, you'll discover: How Corinna and Isabelle's separation led to deep personal growth and emotional healing The role of appreciation in embodying and expressing love What it truly means to be authentic and how it connects to alignment with love How the ego and perception shape our experience and relationships Practical lifestyle habits that support an authentic life, including food and mindset Why giving love increases abundance rather than diminishes it How to move from a victim mindset to a place of empowerment and peace Memorable Quotes: "Love is appreciation—seeing the value in things." "If she hadn't been my twin sister, I would have walked away because it was so incredibly difficult.” "In the present moment, I create the future." Bio Based in Los Angeles, OUR TRUTH is twin sisters Corinna and Isabelle Scott. Growing up in a small town near Frankfurt, Germany, they began performing at the age of eight, regularly singing at town events. Corinna and Isabelle are observers and philosophers and have expressed themselves in art and poetry since their teenage years. The twins separated for 10 years when Corinna moved to the United States. When they reunited, they were able to help each other overcome negative behavior patterns and programming; and serve each other as a reminder to stay positive and loving. OUR TRUTH is the twins' insight through their music and communication, with empowering lyrics and uplifting music pouring out without thought. OUR TRUTH's Wondrous Life album is part of a musical the twins wrote. Corinna and Isabelle are here on a mission as messengers of love.   Mentioned in This Episode: OUR TRUTH Inspirational Merchandise and Art: https://ourtruthmusic.com/store OUR TRUTH Free Empowering Videos: https://ourtruthmusic.com/ Links to Resources: Health Coach Group Website: thehealthcoachgroup.com Special Offer: Use code HCC50 to save $50 on the Health Coach Group website Leave a Review: If you enjoyed the podcast, please consider leaving a five-star rating or review on Apple Podcasts.

The British writer LP Hartley opened his novel “The Go-Between” with an unforgettable line “The past is a foreign country; they do things differently there.” There's a long-standing idea of literature being a vehicle to explore these “foreign countries”, be they temporal or geographical or cultural.  My guest today has been one of the most innovative voices with regard to the immigrant experience, especially through his 2007 novel “The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao”. Junot Díaz is a Dominican-American writer who won the Pulitzer Prize for that novel, thanks to its incredibly modern story-telling. The prose was insane, with different characters' vernacular switching on and off, the timelines, inspirations, characters felt incredibly fresh and exciting. It's the story of a young Dominican-American boy who navigates this new world of America, whilst pining for the homeland of the Dominican Republican, and he copes with this, and with the turmoil of adolescence, by immersing himself in typical teen nerd culture of comics, and sci-fi. If you haven't read that book, then I strongly suggest that you do. Junot Diaz is now a Professor of Creative Writing at MIT (the Massachussetts Institute of Technology) as well as a contributing editor to the Boston Review of Fiction. In this episode, we talk about his inspirations for his work, his process and what makes him tick as an artist. A list of the books mentioned in the episode: The book I've never heard of: Incantations and Other Stories, by Anjana Appachana (1991) Best book of the last 12 months: “The Sellout” by Paul Beatty (2015) Most disappointing book of the last 12 months: “Star Maker”, by Olaf Stapledon (1937) Which book would he take to a desert island: Either “Beloved” by Toni Morrison (1987) or “Dhalgren”, a sci-fi novel by Samuel Delany (1975) What book changed his mind: “City of Quartz” by Mike Davis (1990) Follow me @litwithcharles for more book reviews and recommendations!

Our first remote episode! This week Louisa and The Fantastic Fo speak with Loye Oyedotun, a corporate solicitor who spent six months in Hong Kong as the final seat of his training contract. Most of our guests so far have been living in Hong Kong for a year or more, but with Loye we bring a different perspective. A lot of expats' initial experience of Hong Kong is through a work assignment or secondment and Loye talks to us about exactly that. Coming to Hong Kong with a set end date means taking the city by the horns...or by the balls if you prefer! And as a special treat, we answer the quickfire round as requested during our recap/Q&A episode. Subscribe and rate us wherever you listen to your podcasts.
