Door haar enorme doorzettingsvermogen en grote talent lukt het haar om topballerina te worden. Op 10 september overleed ze. Ze werd 29 jaar. (01:11:05) U hoort over Dries van Agt, de markante drievoudig oud-premier en CDA-leider. Hij overleed samen met zijn vrouw Eugenie van Agt-Krekelberg. Ze stierven hand in hand. (01:27:45) En over de ‘grande dame' van de Franstalige literatuur: Maryse Condé. Voor de Nobelprijs voor de Literatuur bleef de Guadeloupse een eeuwige favoriet.  (01:43:40) Ook opnieuw aandacht voor striptekenaar Akira Toriyama, de bedenker van Dragon Ball, de wereldwijd bekende mangareeks waar later de populaire animatieserie Dragon Ball Z op is gebaseerd.

Gefascineerd door de oude beelden en een orkest van verschillende stemmen neemt Ruben Nicolai de heren mee door hun, naar eigen zeggen, nieuwe favoriete documentaire. De Amsterdamse Yab Yum wordt uitvoerig behandeld waar menig bekende Nederlander graag zijn of haar bezoekje deed. Ruben raakte geïnspireerd door zijn dochter die de sapcentrifuge in huizen Van de Meer onder het stof vandaan heeft gehaald en deelt zijn zelf ontdekte culinaire, en bovenal milieuvriendelijke, recept. Tijl vertelt over de documentaire over Amy Winehouse die hij met dochterlief keek. Waar zij genoot van het ‘mooi'-ogende verhaal, beraadde Tijl bij zichzelf het wezenlijke verschil tussen fictie en non-fictie in dergelijke verfilmde verhalen. Zodoende krijgt dat een staartje in de backstage van volgende week.

Feminists have long held that God must be a woman, particularly because many of our ancestors lived in matriarchal communities. The atheistic non-faith of progressive activists suggests, with sacrilegious intention, that God is either dead or a combination of both male and female, i.e., androgynous. Traditionalists say God is a man. All of these views fundamentally misunderstand the nature of the universal hermaphrodite, however, believing that IT is something of gender or sex. God could not be anything further from this delusional perversion of the esoteric. By male and female it is to be understood that God is THE ALL. Creation is thus the separation of ONE into MANY. When these ideas leave philosophy they can be used by zealots to horrid ends. Recently the Archbishop of York said that we should stop using the word ‘father' to refer to God, something liberal feminists agreed with, stating: “because Jesus called God ‘daddy', we think we have to call God ‘daddy'.” In contrast, conservative Christians criticised the Archbishop for taking his “cue from culture rather than scripture”. Both are incorrect. The fact is that we call God what is familiar to us and if we have poor relationships with women or men we refer to God as the opposite. It is no different than calling the ocean ‘she' or a car ‘her'. God's identity is largely determined today by tribal notions rather than universal notions of nature. The Jewish God is the best example of a deity with human attributes and emotional outbursts. God is MANY from ONE, and therefore GOD is HE, SHE, and IT, all at the same time, and yet none of these things likewise. Dans cet épisode, je reçois Yabyum. Yabyum est une magicienne. Elle pratique la Hedgewitchery depuis qu'elle est une très jeune femme. Ses deux grands-mères étaient sorcières et lui ont transmis leurs savoir. Elle nous parle de son enfance, toujours dehors, au contact de la nature. Voir les esprits de la nature, des animaux fantastiques, des esprits défunts… tout cela était normal et faisait partie de son quotidien. Elle devint ainsi adulte à un jeune âge, en apprenant très tôt à cuisiner, à connaître les vertus des plantes, à écouter les messages de ses guides … Elle raconte avec espièglerie que c'est maintenant qu'elle vit son enfance. Plus tard, la magie l'a suivie et elle s'est initiée à la magie d'Avalon, la magie celtique traditionnelle, les runes… Pourtant, suivre sa mission de vie n'a pas toujours été facile. Parfois, l'envie de vivre une vie normale et d'être comme tout le monde s'est faite sentir. Alors, elle a essayé. Mais, on ne peut lutter contre qui l'on est vraiment. De ces difficultés passées, elle est ressortie plus forte et plus aguerrie. Elle a embrassé pleinement sa mission de vie : celle de travailler dans la lumière, de se mettre au service des autres et de veiller à ce que la nature soit respectée. Avec cette envie et ce message à transmettre : d'accueillir ce que la vie peut offrir à chaque instant, sans attente, sans chercher à contrôler quoi que ce soit. Elle nous livre que tout le monde est sorcier, même si nous n'avons pas forcément tous les mêmes dons. Ainsi, elle invite chacun à s'ouvrir à sa propre capacité d'enchanter sa vie et d'apporter des changements au monde entier. En prenant le temps de développer sa propre magie. Par des gestes tout simples, en étant simplement soi-même et en faisant de la place au silence pour entendre son intuition. Nous discutons aussi de l'évolution de la sorcellerie dans le monde d'aujourd'hui, des différences entre la wicca née dans les années 50 et la magie ancestrale, des enfants indigo, cristal ou arc-en-ciel, … et de bien d'autres choses encore ! Un épisode féérique où on se laisse envoûter par la magie du monde, contée par la chaleureuse Yabyum !

Maandag in De Vooravond o.a.:  Grote onrust in de voetbalwereld: twaalf topclubs leggen een bom onder de Champions League en beginnen hun eigen Super League. Aan tafel: Tom Egbers en Hélène Hendriks. Het nieuws over advocaat en inmiddels ex-Kamerlid Sidney Smeets zorgt voor een bredere maatschappelijke discussie over mannen in machtsposities en kwetsbare jongens op zoek naar hun seksualiteit. Een discussie die zowel binnen als buiten de gayscene gevoerd moet worden, vindt D66'er Rob Jetten. Dertien jaar geleden sloot Yab Yum, het roemruchte en legendarische bordeel aan het Amsterdamse Singel, haar deuren. Het was een plek waar niets te gek was, volop bezocht door royals, filmsterren en voetballers. Ook grote criminelen kwamen regelmatig langs, wat uiteindelijk voor de definitieve sluiting heeft gezorgd. Regisseur Anna Maria van 't Hek maakte er een documentaire over. Ze schuift vanavond aan met Tonnie, die als barman in het bordeel werkte, en met oud-politiewoordvoerder Klaas Wilting.

Anna Maria is regisseur en maakt prachtige documentaires en commercials. Of ze nou commercials maakt voor Nike of Volkswagen of een docu serie over Badr Hari, haar werk heeft altijd iets eerlijks en oprechts. Het komt dichtbij en het raakt. Zo blijkt ook uit haar nieuwste creatie. Een unieke documentaire over het meest legendarische bordeel van ons Land, YAB YUM. Na drie jaar hard werken is dit visuele en narratieve meesterwerk eindelijk af en te bewonderen. Goed moment dus voor een mooi gesprek met Anna Maria.In de podcast hebben we het samen over hoe het was om deze film te maken. Anna van ’t Hek is documentairemaker. Ze maakte eerder de documentaire The Amazing Agency (2014) en Badr (2019). Op 19 april wordt haar nieuwe documentaire Yab Yum uitgezonden door BNNVARA. De film vertelt het verhaal van het gelijknamige legendarische bordeel dat meer dan tien jaar geleden werd gedwongen haar deuren te sluiten, na te zijn overgenomen door het criminele circuit. In Yab Yum vertellen de mensen die ooit de harde kern van de club vormden extravagante en soms pijnlijke verhalen over de plek waar alles kon wat God verboden heeft. Pieter van der Wielen spreekt met Anna van ’t Hek.

The union of man and woman is a sacred bond, the most ancient and holy religious sacrament. Matrimony is "the state or condition from which the Divine Mother can act." Lecture quote: "Like all of the sacraments, the sacrament of matrimony is sacred (these two words - sacrament, sacred - come from a common source). This is why in all of the ancient religions and mystical traditions of humanity, matrimony or marriage has always been considered a religious act, a sacred act. That is why marriage has always been in the domain of the priesthood, not the government, until recent times, when marriage has become more of an economic factor. When we talk about the sacraments, what we are really discussing are sacred initiations or levels of instruction that the soul passes through. These sacraments have been instituted by the Gnostic Church, which has its primary domain in the realm of Daath (Hebrew for knowledge, which is that realm where the Father/Mother unite in order to create; this is the level of the Yab/Yum, the Father/Mother, the Elohim. From their sacred union, all creation is realized. The sacrament or sacred act of matrimony is a reflection of the union between the Divine Father and the Divine Mother, Shiva/Shakti, Abba and Aima. That union in the sphere of Daath is an act of sacrifice; it is an act of love. The sphere of Daath is synonymous with love. It is here where God and Goddess unite because of their profound love; the very substance of that union is love, and its result is love. The child, the son, Osiris, or Christ, is the very embodiment of the love of Father/Mother, Yab/Yum; so that son, that love, is Christ the Savior, the sacred force of pure, cognizant Bodhichitta, love. This is a form of love that is beyond the seven spheres below Daath. It is beyond the spirit (Chesed), the consciousness (Geburah), the will (Tiphereth), the mind (Netzach), the emotion (Hod), beyond energy (Yesod), beyond anything physical (Malkuth). This is a form of love that is incomprehensible to our mind, but is knowable through our heart. This is why the sacrament of matrimony is so sacred." Read the lecture transcription.
