Send us a text(REPRISE) For a second time, Ken welcomes Rev. Ben Cremer to the podcast for Season 5. Ken starts by thanking Ben for that first interview, "Myths We Believe," which is far and away the most downloaded podcast of Ken's more than 300 episodes (exceeding the former first-place interview with Kristin Kobes Du Mez). Ben is a prolific author, just finishing up the manuscript of his first book. He has a big audience for his newsletter, which is delivered weekly on Sunday mornings. He calls it "Into The Gray." It's a resource of books, podcasts, and then a thoughtful essay of his own around important issues of the day. Ken chose three to discuss on this podcast - first, "A Troubling Conversation" highlighting the commonly held doctrine of Total Depravity. The second contemplates the common default answer when Christians encounter those who hold opposite views. They'll say, "Well, they aren't REAL Christians." The third addresses a spiritual discipline that is widely ignored in the traditions both Ben and Ken grew up in - lament. Ben brings fresh, sometimes provocative thinking to all three issues. Ken predicts that this conversation will be another that breaks records. SHOW NOTESSupport the showBecome a Patron - Click on the link to learn how you can become a Patron of the show. Thank you! Luister, like & abonneer.

He's also an affiliated faculty member at the Institute for Experiential AI at Northeastern University and an affiliated researcher at the Center for Collective Intelligence at MIT. His newest book is titled The AI-Savvy Leader: Nine Ways to Take Back Control and Make AI Work*. We've all heard the warnings that AI is going to take our jobs. That's certainly a possibly in the long-term, but the story emerging, at least for now, is looking a little different. In this episode, David and I discuss how leaders can use AI to augment, not replace, human intelligence. Key Points AI is substantially different than prior digital transformations, and adoption efforts are failing at alarming rates. Instead of leading, too often leaders are being too deferential to data and analytics teams. Your expertise is exactly what your organization needs to deploy AI successfully. Leaders who learn the fundamentals of AI will play an essential roll in narrating dialogue between the technology experts and everyone else. Rev. Benjamin Kremer joins us for a very special Zeitcast, in which he and Jonathan rank the five Bible verses that are the most misused right now, and what's wrong with the whole Trump/King David thing! Along the way, they also talk about the ongoing critique of the prophets over against the kings in the Hebrew Bible, how Jesus fits into that critique, and why it is that even the most liberating texts can be used in the most oppressive ways; as well as what's really going on with Romans 13, and why they are passionate about the essential message of the Book of Revelation (despite all the ways it has been used for harm). This is lively, fire-breathing conversation that will challenge your mind, and hopefully renew your soul!

Welcome to episode #944 of Six Pixels of Separation - The ThinkersOne Podcast. Here it is: Six Pixels of Separation - The ThinkersOne Podcast - Episode #944. David De Cremer, the Dunton Family Dean at the D'Amore-McKim School of Business at Northeastern University, is passionate about the intersection of technology and leadership. With a rich background in psychology and behavioral economics, David has dedicated his career to understanding how emerging technologies, especially AI, can transform businesses while keeping people at the heart of it all. He's worked across the globe, guiding leaders on how to effectively and responsibly integrate AI into their organizations. David's journey is rooted in a deep curiosity about human behavior and a passion for leadership. He's held prestigious positions at places like the National University of Singapore and the University of Cambridge, where he founded the Centre on AI Technology for Humankind. This wealth of experience has given him unique insights into the challenges and opportunities that AI presents. In our conversation, we dive into his latest book, The AI Savvy Leader - Nine Ways To Take Back Control And Make AI Work. David addresses a critical issue: Many leaders today are handing over control of AI strategy to their tech teams, which can lead to a disconnect between AI initiatives and overall business strategy. His book offers a practical guide for leaders to reclaim their role in the AI transformation. It's not about becoming a tech lead... it's about applying timeless leadership skills — like creating a vision, effective communication, and strategic execution — in the context of AI. David emphasizes that AI should be a tool to enhance decision-making and efficiency, not a replacement for human judgment. He shares stories from his work, highlighting both the successes and pitfalls of early AI adoption. The core message is clear: Leaders need to stay engaged and proactive, ensuring that AI aligns with their organization's values and goals. David's approachable and insightful perspective makes complex topics accessible. He reminds us that while technology evolves rapidly, the fundamental principles of good leadership remain constant. If you're a business leader looking to understand how to leverage AI effectively and responsibly, David De Cremer's insights are invaluable. Enjoy the conversation... Running time: 1:08:55. For a second time, Ken welcomes Rev. Rev. Ben Cremer, Campus Pastor at Cathedral of the Rockies in Boise, Idaho, has a social presence that is getting a significant and growing response. Ken stumbled across his lengthy essay Ben called, "Myths We Believe" in which he details things he was taught to embrace, but he's had to unlearn. The article beautifully tracks Ken's journey, too. Ben was Home-schooled (K-12) in "a deeply conservative environment in rural Idaho - as far right politically and theologically as you can imagine." Today, he pastors a satellite campus of a progressive, affirming United Methodist congregation in a conspicuously red state. Just recently, Ben appeared on the local ABC Affiliate (Channel 7) in politics and religion piece in which a local television journalist gave extensive interviews to two Pastors: Blaine Conzatti and Ben Cremer. Conzatti, a very conservative pastor (The Communion of Reformed Evangelical Churches) and political activist (President of Idaho Family Policy Center), and Ben. Ken and Ben unpack his long journey from those early home-school years (with a curriculum rooted in the "Christian Identity" movement that denied the Holocaust, argued that slavery was good because it introduced Africans to Christianity, and separation of the races is God's design, and much more) and on through college and graduate school where he learned to read books and pursue his curiosity. His passion for ministry took him through seminary and into a small, traditional, conservative church that mirrored Idaho's deep red conservatism. Lonely, underpaid and full of questions, Ben slipped into a dark spiritual depression. In this vulnerable and open interview, he tells his story of recovery, redemption and transformation - finding a faith that is open, fresh and alive. SHOW NOTESSupport the show

Cremers Fotoblog: https://www.derstandard.at/inland/cremersphotoblog

When Russell Moore saw footage of a “Jesus saves” sign during the January 6, 2021 insurrection at the United States Capitol, he wasn't just angered by the assault on democracy. He was horrified by what he saw as a blasphemous misrepresentation of the gospel. How could American culture have gotten to such a place? And what can be done about it? Those are the types of questions that today's guest, Dr. Tobias Cremer, explores in his new book The Godless Crusade, Religion, Populism, and Right Wing Identity Politics in the West. Cremer, a junior research fellow at Pembroke College, and an associate member of the Department of Politics and International Relations at the University of Oxford, studies the relationship between religion, secularization, and the rise of right-wing identity politics. And when he looks at right-wing populism, he sees far more secularism than true religion. On this episode, Moore and Cremer discuss the rise of national populist movements in America and other Western countries. They discuss how faith and socioeconomic status influence political leanings, why religious symbols are used in political movements, and what people really mean when they say they are Christian in a political context. Moore and Cremer talk about the growing number of de-churched Protestants in the Bible Belt and how the populist right confuses religion for identity. And they consider the changes that people and institutions can make to address polarization, resentment, and radicalization. Tune in for an episode that provides a nuanced view of political and religious history in the West and sheds light on our culture today. Dr. Tobias Cremer joins us on the pod this week to talk about his new book The Godless Crusade: Religion, Populism, and Right-Wing Idenity Politics in the West. Dr. Cremer is a Junior Research Fellow in Religion and the Frontier Challenges at Pembroke College Oxford. His research focuses on the relationship between religion, secularisation and the rise of right-wing identity politics throughout western societies. In his doctoral research (University of Cambridge, funded by the ESRC) Tobias explored how right-wing populist movements in Germany, France and the United States employ Christianity as a cultural identity marker, and how believers and church authorities are reacting to such references.
