The Fit Cookie Nutrition Podcast is an invaluable resource for runners looking to improve their performance and fuel their bodies in a healthy, non-diet culture manner. Holley, the host of the podcast, has a strong educational background and a passion for helping runners achieve their goals. Her expertise in the field of nutrition is evident as she provides insightful information on proper running nutrition with easy-to-understand ways to implement these strategies. What sets this podcast apart is its science-based approach, ensuring that listeners receive accurate and evidence-based information.
One of the best aspects of this podcast is Holley's ability to break down complex concepts into everyday terms. Whether you're an experienced marathoner or just starting out, the information provided is relevant and applicable to runners of all levels. The focus on proper nutrition, understanding runners' mentality and goals, and incorporating strength training are just a few examples of the comprehensive topics covered in each episode. Additionally, Holley often invites guests who share their expertise and personal experiences, adding depth to the discussions.
While The Fit Cookie Nutrition Podcast offers valuable content, there are a couple of areas that could be improved upon. Some listeners have mentioned that Holley's microphone volume can be too soft at times, making it difficult to hear her clearly without turning up the volume significantly. This issue may need some attention to ensure consistent audio quality throughout each episode.
In conclusion, The Fit Cookie Nutrition Podcast is a must-listen for anyone interested in optimizing their running performance through proper nutrition. Holley's extensive knowledge and passion shine through as she delivers informative episodes filled with practical tips and advice. The variety of topics covered ensures that listeners gain a well-rounded understanding of how nutrition plays a crucial role in achieving their fitness goals. Despite minor issues with audio quality, this podcast remains an excellent resource for runners seeking guidance on fueling their bodies effectively while embracing a healthy approach to training and nutrition.

In this episode we dive into some of the questions answered as a part of my Fueled Masterclass Membership monthly Q&A including: How to make my GI distress in the humidity disappear!!! It doesn't happen at any other time of the year Even after long runs and working out is anyone having trouble staying asleep? If you take an iron supplement, how important is it to take it on an empty stomach? I take it most morning on an empty stomach, but occasionally I forget. Better take take in close proximity to food or skip for a day? Are foods like poptarts and cheezits okay for carb loading or should you find better alternatives? Why the extra heavy sweaters are a higher risk for low iron? Obviously based on all you shared, this will vary for everyone…but if you have a runner with persistent iron deficiency, how long do you typically recommend cutting back their mileage vs not running at all while they are supplementing/increasing intake in their diet? Is it based on lab response? Do you recommend skipping a run for at least 1 day prior to labs because of the hemolysis? In this episode I share my journey to becoming a RD (dietitian), personal trainer, CEO, and certified specialist in sports dietetics (CSSD). I share my career experience in various jobs leading up to where I am today so far like dietetic internship woes and wins, bariatric surgery, diabetes education, weight management and how I eventually got into the eating disorder and sports nutrition field that I love so much today. I share tips on how to study for the RD and CSSD boards exams & how to not let intimidation and fear stop you from grabbing the bull by the horns and living out your dreams.
