Today Michele and I have a heart to heart discussion about why it's so darn hard to ask for help. Why is that? Is this a fairly new phenomenon or something that's been around for a long time but we're just now talking about it? Could it be cultural? No matter what the reasons there seem to be many reasons why it's so hard to ask for help!!! Clinical psychologist, Dr. Ellen Hendriksen states that "Asking for help can turn the most self-assured, square-shouldered among us into a nail-biting mess. We may cast about vague wishes to no one in particular, blame others for our woes, or procrastinate until our problem has become an emergency. You’d think asking for help would be preferable to all this misery, but taking action is tough for almost everyone." Why is that? Some of the things we discussed are: People love to help others! We fear to admit that we're out of control. Maybe you'll fear of being indebted or owing a favor? Do you fear to look weak? Maybe you are afraid of rejection... We have such an interesting discussion for you today!!!
Cedric Bertelli is the founder and director of the Emotional Health Institute. He began his training in Emotional Resolution in 2009 in France. Cedric grew up in a tiny village in France with a population of 80 and always suffered from anxiety. Later he became a well known culinary expert for the Ritz Carlton Hotels. Currently, he is an expert in emotional health using the Emotional Resolution method. I'm in awe of what he's been able to accomplish in 10 short years! At the core of Emotional Resolution is the belief that we are all born with the physiological ability to resolve our own emotions permanently. Most of us go through life, knowing we have difficulties and try various ways to meet them head-on. We all have tried many forms such as self-help techniques, professional help, or even self-medication. These may help for a time but only until there is another trigger to set the pattern back into motion. Triggers lead to disruptive emotional patterns: anger, stress, jealousy, phobias, anxiety, shame, avoidance, only to name a few. According to Bertelli, "Neuroscientists are beginning to understand that the body is wired to permanently resolve dysfunctional and negative emotional patterns... if we only allow it to do its natural job!" This is a fascinating discussion I know you don’t want to miss!

Kelli Reese is on a mission to motivate, empower and inspire women to be brave and live the life their soul is calling for. Kelli is such an amazing woman. I first met Kelli when we were both at a seminar with Angela Lauria and the Author Incubator. We both wrote and published our first book together. And as luck would have it, I was able to work with her 1:1 almost two summers later. Words cannot begin to express the journey she took me on starting first with reading my Akashic records. And next helping me heal from some things I was holding on to for far too long. Kelli motivates women in many ways. She has a fantastic retreat this May in Tulum working with others on the Sacred Soul Journeys. If you’re feeling the call to connect more completely in your life, Sacred Soul Journeys takes you there. Kelli will put you in the middle of outstanding discoveries and magical adventures that will empower you, unlike anything you’ve ever experienced. Each journey is a rare opportunity to explore sacred sites, local cultures and healing modalities. Also included is the inner exploration to the core of your being where you’ll discover the depth of who you are. She also works with women who feel stuck in their relationship. She helps them find answers to many questions that lay hidden for so many of us. The Clear Heart Program has helped many find a new path to happiness. If you want to get out of the indecision and questioning, it requires all the awareness and tools you’ve been learning on your path, but it also needs understanding on a deeper level about what’s happening. Finally, Kelli also works with women in her other program, The Connect Program. Each of us has a SOUL MISSION that we’ve carried with us from lifetime to lifetime. Kelli helps you understand your history and your wounds and karma that may have created obstacles for us to overcome before we’re able to fly. Listen to my dear friend Kelli as she shares her journey starting 17 years ago to today. I’m telling you it’s powerful!

Merna Liddawi is an award-winning artist and mentor. Her art is based on an ancient forgotten technique that brings natures beauty together by using genuine gold and carefully hand-made materials. Born in Jordan, she absorbed the vibrant colors, chanting music, and smells of the Orthodox Christian family icons. She visited ancient Roman ruins which influenced her greatly. Coming from the Middle East, her path was clear: gain a Physics degree, move to England, excel at teaching math… she did it all, but then she had a divine calling. Merna is a firm believer that art will transform and heal a person while bringing inner peace and solace to your life. Let’s face it. We are so distracted and overwhelmed by a digital age that we are often lost. We are lost in our computers, phones and other electronic devices. Merna’s philosophy is natural but oh so powerful and beautiful. Painting for Merna is a time of prayer, meditation, and stillness. She calls these moments ‘Selah’ Moments. And her goal and mission are for you too to experience “Selah” moments in your life. Her paintings are magnificent and can be found HERE. Her art is absolutely breathtaking and beyond anything you’ve ever seen. She uses nature’s pure elements – pigments, azurite, gold, egg, clay, and the meditative process while she creates. After many years including formal training (MFA), she has gravitated to using gold, earth and mineral pigments and geometry as symbols of light and spirituality. Her math training came in handy!!! Every aspect of her art is made by hand with love and care.

What Happens With Sleep Deprivation? After a few sleepless nights, it doesn’t take long to cross over into a chronic sleep problem. Over time you don’t even realize how tired you are… you tend to run on empty. We become impaired and don’t even know it. There are subtle signs or red flags that clue you into when you’ve crossed over to the chronic sleep category. Be aware! Signs You Have A chronic Sleep Problem. • You're moody. This is a tough one because who isn’t moody from time to time? But this is different – now your fuse is really short. It’s the little things that are getting to you. • You find yourself sick all more often. It seems like you just got over one illness and boom! you're sick again. Losing sleep weakens your immune system. A recent study found that people who get 5 hours of sleep or less are four times as likely to catch a cold than someone who slept 6 hours. • Munchies! Do you find yourself eating more? Well, there's a reason for that. Short sleep cycles lower the level of leptin your body makes (the hormone that decreases your appetite!) • How’s your libido? The last thing you want to think about let alone do when you crawl into bed is sex. The only thing you want to do is sleep. • You can’t make a decision to save your life. When you're low on rest, the frontal cortex of your brain is impacted negatively, and there goes your decision-making process. Sleep is incredibly essential for your health, vitality, and safety. We need it for all our bodily functions including repairing damaged skin cells to flushing out the toxins that build up in your brain. Hopefully, listening to this episode of Graceful Healing helps to shed some light on tips and strategies to combat sleep deprivation. Join our Facebook group and have fun with our sleep challenge! Michele was such a delight to interview. Not only is she a life long dear friend but she is a health coach and energy healer. She considers herself a life long closet intuitive as well! Her story is important for many reasons but for me, it resonates so deeply. Michele talks about her experience with Reiki, which is an ancient Japanese method of healing that uses energy to balance the body and mind. One aspect of Reiki that I didn't realize is there are positive benefits to both the practitioner and the client! Shamballa is an extension of Reiki and is used for hands-on healing, and long distance healing. It's energy in which Chi is channeled into someone or something living to help them balance and heal. It raises one's energy vibration and helps a person to expand their consciousness. Like Reiki, Shamballa is the energy of unconditional love.

From a drug overdose at 17 years old to now --Kole’s story is one of inspiration and admiration. Learn how she became the warrior she is now by FEELing her way into a flow.

Shelly Swapp is an Integrated Health Practioner trained in Chinese Herbology, Native American Herbalism, botanical therapy, and Ayurveda. Shelly studied in China where she gained additional training and learned how Eastern and Western medicine could work together to achieve the best results for her patients. Shelly is also a mother, wife, and daughter. She has worked tirelessly to rebuild healthcare through the use of food nutrition, botanical therapy, and lifestyle changes. Shelly knows just how hard it is to make significant changes in the name of wellness because she’s done it herself. But Shelly also knows how empowering it is to take control of your health and the health off your family. Once you hear her story and the medical needs of Shelly's family, you’ll understand it’s nothing short of miraculous. Shelly spent a large portion of her life with undiagnosed celiac disease. Can you imagine? Little did she know this was why her children were reactive when she was breastfeeding and why she never felt quite right herself. As she connects the dots for us, we come to understand that her learning journey begins with her children and their health needs and branches out from there.
The idea for a “sisterhood” didn’t resonate with me until later in life. Now I realize the sisterhood is everything – isn’t it? We need each other for sharing, caring, health, and healing. We collectively, need to lift each other up and accept each other for who we are. Not competitive but supportive, and not critical but praising often and heartfelt. I decided to start Graceful Healing 3 months ago, it was sudden and swift. That’s how I do most things… unexpected and quick - no lollygagging around for me! The hysterical thing is I’ve done most of my interviews up to this point in the closet. Yep, the closet of my bedroom because of house renovations that overtook not only my house but my life. In this episode of Friday Focus, I share four tips and strategies that will honestly change your energy level and vitality within 24 hours. Also, FREE recipes to help get things moving in the right direction!
