She gave us all the latest insights into keeping our furry friends healthy (you can listen to that episode by clicking here), as well as how we can actually pursue a legitimate career working with people's pets through her Pet Wellness Program.   Now that we have had multiple FDNs successfully go through Dr. Roberts' program with nothing but amazing things to say, we felt it was only right to have her back on to talk about he program itself. (WARNING: You'll also get Detective Ev asking a bunch of random pet related questions!)    Would you like to see more of Dr. Roberts in the future? Let us know by shooting us a direct message on Instagram: @fdntraining.   About Dr. Roberts:   During her 30-year career as a DVM, Dr. Ruth Roberts has become one of the nation's foremost experts in holistic and integrative veterinary medicine. After graduating from North Carolina State University in 1990, Dr. Roberts began her career practicing traditional, Western medicine. The onset of simultaneous health challenges for both her and her dog Arnold, however, prompted Dr. Roberts to seek solutions outside of the traditional realm of veterinary care she had learned in her textbooks. Dr. Roberts furthered her education by absorbing the principles of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine at the Chi Institute in Florida. Her studies there would eventually form the foundation for her philosophy that “good health begins in the bowl.” She is certified in Acupuncture, Chinese Herbology and Food Therapy. In 2006, Dr. Roberts founded The Original Crockpot Diet and continues to see the dramatic results it makes in the health of her patients. She is a leading consultant in integrative veterinary medicine and advises clients in the United States and internationally through her website DrRuthRoberts.com. Dr. Ruth is on a mission to empower pet parents and foster a vibrant community, to ignite a global movement for natural pet health, led by Dr. Ruth and Holistic Pet Health Coaches. Our aim is to equip you with the tools and knowledge to champion your pet's wellbeing, making every tail wag and content purr a testament to our commitment.   Dr. Roberts' website: www.drruthroberts.com

In this episode Dr. Corey Ghazvini invites us to share his journey from a vegan night owl musician to a sunrise every day quantum clinician and educator. Dr. Ghazvini is board certified in Acupuncture, Chinese Herbology and Biomedicine and is an expert in the science of light, water, magnetism and mitochondria. In true quantum fashion we begin by discussing the family dynamics and trauma that led him to his awareness of a deeper energy and ultimately guided him to become devoted to health and healing at the quantum level. Dr. Ghazvini shares deeply and generously about his experience, and takes us for a ride on his cosmic journey.    “The energy that we gather from the environment is exactly what we are. And as we become obsessed with societal and superficial ideas in education, we separate ourselves from this infinite amount of energy that we're capable of accessing,” explains Dr. Ghazvini. Chinese medicine understands that humans are a part of nature and that to be healthy, our bodies must be in balance with the environment. 95% of all disease is rooted in stress and a large portion of that stress can be directly linked to the artificial light and information that is all around us. By simply being in nature doing things like watching the sunrise and feeling the ground with our bare feet, it is possible to re-establish the connection between our bodies and the limitless energy of our environment.   The sun is the master conductor of all of nature, providing energy for biological processes. The typical Western lifestyle of massive reliance on technology and artificial light sources causes our mitochondria to function less efficiently, which in turn creates stress on the body that can quickly turn into disease.   Quotes “Chinese medicine, what it truly is, is an attempt to create a system that reminds people of how coherent we are with nature.” (13:17-13:33 | Dr. Ghazvini) “The energy that we gather from the environment is exactly what we are. And as we become obsessed with societal and superficial ideas in education, we separate ourselves from this infinite amount of energy that we're capable of accessing.” (23:33-23:58 | Dr. Ghazvini) “Quantum biology allows us to understand that it's truly all about light and energy.” (28:22-28:31 | Dr. Ghazvini)  “What our environment is trying to do is to provide the energy that we need. That's what natural light does. And artificial light, artificial information, from the media, from the institutionalized education system, are attempting to find a way to steal your energy.” (31:25-31:52 | Dr. Ghazvini) “Pain and symptoms are nothing more than a communication mechanism that the body is trying to use to tell you that what you're doing or where you are is completely inefficient.” (47:42-47:53 | Dr. Ghazvini) Links Connect with Dr. Corey Ghazvini: Instagram: @optimallightdoc  Website: https://optimallight.net/about   To find a practitioner who understand the health principles of quantum biology: www.quantumbiologycollective.org  To become a QBC member and get invites to live deep dives & access to our video library: www.quantumhealthtv.com  To take our 8 week practitioner certification in the science of quantum biology so that you can add it to your existing area of expertise: www.appliedquantumbiology.com    Follow on Twitter, Instagram & Facebook: @quantumhealthtv    Podcast production and show notes provided by HiveCast.fm

After a severe head injury that compromised the parts of the brain responsible for processing language and social interactions, Ben Easter found himself in a tough spot. Like every other human, he strived for connection and belonging, which the consequences of his accident were clearly making more difficult.Ben devoted his entire being to achieve a fast recovery, and within 6 months, he was already on his feet and, (according to him), fully recovered. But he wasn't; he still had issues processing language, understanding what people would say to him, and the worst part of it, he wasn't aware of these issues; his grandma pointed them out to him. The following months were dark for Ben; he contemplated suicide, he felt isolated, broken, and unworthy. His studying abilities weren't affected, though, so he started reading about neuroplasticity and learning how to stimulate the brain to "fix itself," he studied and learned about social dynamics. Ben realized social skills were precisely that, skills, and with practice, he would eventually redevelop them, which he did. Ben Easter, is a Transformational Life Coach and the CEO and Head Coach of Lucid Shift Coaching. He has two Bachelor of Arts degrees from Florida State University. Hippocrates - the father of modern medicine - once said (in so many words) that experiencing illness creates empathy, so those who get sick with many ailments would naturally make the best healers.  If there is a best-case example to prove this - Sara Banta might be the one.  Although not a doctor - Sara has accumulated years of self-education in nutrition, Ayurveda, Chinese Herbology, fitness nutrition, and supplements to become one of the most followed and respected alternative health coaches out in the field today.  Sara also has plenty of empathy through her past suffering with many debilitating ailments, including Crohn's disease, hormonal issues, PCOS, heavy metal toxicity, and depression.  Since discovering these new healing modalities, Sara has not been sick in 15 years.  You may be wondering how someone battling so many debilitating illnesses could turn into a passionate evangelist for alternative medicine?  Let's just say her “momma bear” instinct kicked into high gear several years ago when her nine-year-old son was diagnosed with a devastating illness. Sara's first response was to break out in tears. But when her precious son looked up at her and asked why she was crying, and confidently told his mom, “you're gonna fix me,” Sara knew right then what her life's mission was going forward: get her son healed and open people's eyes to the world of natural healing.  Early on in her journey, Sara was surrounded by naysayers - many were her family members. Today, those same family members come to Sara for advice on health matters after seeing her son restored and thriving.  Sara has accumulated plenty of results during her years of coaching practice, and her happy client testimonials bear the fruits of her labor. She continues to expand her knowledge while serving clients and radio podcast listeners with cutting-edge protocols that combine Scalar frequency-based supplements, Chinese medicine, healing devices, and more to detox, reset and rebuild the Body, Mind, and Spirit.  Soon after you hit play, you will notice the soothing, healing frequencies emanating from Sara. Watch her in person, and you will see her aura glowing with red, pink, orange, and yellow energies.   Tune in to turn up your frequency.    In this podcast, we cover: Sara's heartbreaking beginning and her inspiring journey bringing her to where she is today  Why a “scio machine” made Sara cry tears of relief Her son's unexpected diagnosis and how Sara's career launched that day The benefits of supplementing with silver and gold  How Sara overcame nervous self-doubt when appearing on podcasts and became a successful radio show host What are frequency-based supplements, and why they are important Managing radiation exposure and radiation toxicity Iodine supplementation The importance of detoxification “People thought I was crazy. They thought I was mental or depressed.”  That was the low point for Sara. She was suffering physically, but everyone around her thought it was all in her head.  Ever feel that way?  Sara can relate. She tried working with allopathic doctors but found that experience frustrating. One doctor would completely forget who Sara was and her story between weekly appointments. She would have to recant her entire story each office visit.  Yikes.  Until one day, Sara had her body scanned by a particular machine to check 10,000 items in the body. “It was like peeling an onion,” Sara tells Wade. “Within ten minutes, this man (mind you, he wasn't even female) knew exactly what was going on in my body, what I was experiencing. I started crying. I thought, ‘Finally!' This proves I'm not crazy.”  “This guy tells me, Sarah - you're not digesting food. You've got a leaky gut. You're loaded with heavy metals. You've got hormones that are out of control. You're high in testosterone.”  “So, we started cleansing me, putting me through detox from heavy metals. I was loaded with heavy metals. Aluminum and mercury were off the charts.”  “I have to tell you about a client that just finished my cleanse.”  At one point, Sara brings up one of her clients who went through her cleansing process: “He started out homeless. He was addicted to heroin, cocaine. He was down and out. Now fast forward ten to fifteen years - he's living in a multi-million dollar home. However, he has fatty liver. And he's telling me, ‘I can't do anything. I can't live my life. I've got all this money and a beautiful partner to share it with. We want to go road tripping. We want to do all this stuff. I can't do anything. I feel like crap.” “Yesterday, he finished the end of the cleanse, the liver cleanse. He says, ‘Sarah, I'm buying an RV. I'm living life. The pain's gone. You could see his aura. He looked like a different human being.” Be sure to listen in as Sara and Wade cover a lot of ground in the areas of frequency, detoxification, and supplementation. Dancing and stretching allowed her to feel more centered and in control of her body, it allowed her to stretch between earth and sky. Out of high school she began to professionally dance in Broadway productions such as A Chorus Line. She developed an interest in estern cultures while touring as a dancer. She teaches this alignment in a program called the Relaxed Strength Method. 3rd Segment Tammy chose the name BodyLogos because it means the body's divine wisdom and her job is training the body for inner strength. Her classes look like strength training but sound like meditation. With BodyLogos you are creating a positive change without compromising yourself. Tammy believes that strength is something you already have, it just needs to be unveiled. Before the break, Tammy teaches an exercise she calls the “Three Breath Reset.” 4th Segment Tammy Wise's company BodyLogos has an app available for use. For more information on her company visit the website bodylogos.com. The first thing you will see on the home video is a video that will teach you to surrender tension in eight minutes. This is a sneak peak into the techniques taught in her book The Art of Strength: Sculpt the Body ~ Train the Mind. Her book will teach you what the mind body connection is and how to work with it. These methods have helped her throughout her life. When scared she can step into this alignment and feel guided, less alone. It has given Tammy a sense of belonging in this world. In this episode of Bulletproof Radio, my guest, Chloe Weber, L.Ac, MSOM, is a licensed acupuncturist and herbalist who’s also co-founder and CEO of Radical Roots Herbs. She’s on a mission to expand the reach of Chinese herbology and bring ancient healing into the modern world. You’ll learn a lot in this episode, I know I did! Chloe has taken what has been known to work over thousands of years of Chinese Medicine practice and adapted traditional formulas to conditions people are experiencing today.“In Chinese medicine, instead of having a one-to-one correlation between a symptom and a cure, we're looking at the dynamic interplay of the body,” Chloe says. “So, we look at the body as a microcosm of the macrocosm. Everything that we see in nature, we use to describe the actions in what's going on in the body.”“The same as with herbs,” she continues. “We’re really looking at the whole plant and how it’s inter-playing with the body. And then, instead of just doing one herb, we’re using different herbs together to create a formula so that we cannot only address the branch, which are the symptoms, but we can address the root, so we can really get to the underlying health issues.”Chloe developed an interest in public health and medicine after being diagnosed with cutaneous leishmaniasis as a teen. Her background in Ecology and Evolutionary biology in college led her to understand how diseases evolve and the deep connection between humans and our environment. She was drawn to Chinese medicine as a way to address public health issues. She earned a Master of Science in Oriental Medicine and also studied at Heilongjiang University Hospital in Harbin, China. Chloe co-founded a non-profit, sliding-scale, walk-in Chinese herb clinic in Denver, eventually transitioning into private practice. There, she developed a deep interest in functional medicine and co-founded Radical Roots. Her work with patients has had striking commonalities. “One thing that's interesting and that I love about Chinese medicine because, as a clinician and as a human, I've seen a lot that the gut is really the foundation of health,” Chloe says. “It's the school of thought that basically says that digestion is the root of all illness and the root of all health and vitality.”She’s also leaned on Chinese herbs to address her son’s health, while extensively studying integrative neurology. Now 6, Remy was diagnosed at age two-and-a-half with a one-in-20-million genetic disorder called STXBP1. “You definitely know you're in a shitshow if your child has a one in 20 million genetic disorder named after the gene that's mutated,” Chloe says. “We've had to go really outside of the box when it comes to treating him.”Herb use in Chinese Medicine is an ancient and diverse way of healing. Dr. Mao Shing Ni is a licensed acupuncturist, Diplomate of Chinese Herbology and a Diplomate in Anti-Aging. His family has had roots in acupuncture going back 37 generations and Dr. Mao fell into the practice at a young age. When he was six, he fell from a three story roof and was in a coma for one month. Dr. Mao decided then it would be his life’s work as “Chinese medicine gave me back my life again”. Autoimmune conditions are on the rise and in the next decade, most of what we classify as chronic disease will be put into the autoimmune category. Diabetes, heart disease, Alzheimer’s, thyroid issues, and osteoporosis will all be traced back to an immune system that has gone awry. So what’s the common link? Stress and digestion. Roger Drummer (NCCAOM Diplomate of Chinese Herbology and Formulator of TianChi & Inner Peace) along with Josiah Smith (Certified Functional Medicine Practitioner) discuss autoimmunity and functional medicine.

My guest on today's podcast is Roger Drummer. Roger is kinda like  (pictured above) - you know, the guy that wears the conical, straw Chinese harvester and can generate magical orbs of electricity from his hands. Except, in this case, Roger plays with adaptogenic herbs. He's a Chinese herbal adaptogen formulator, a Certified Nutritionist and NCCAOM Diplomate of Chinese Herbology, holds a U.S. patent for developing a process to grow biologically active, anthocyanin-enriched medicinal mushrooms, and is in my opinion, one of the best-kept secrets in natural medicine and health enhancement. Roger even formulates personalized tonic herbs for thousands of clients, including many notable celebrities (which I ask him about in this podcast episode), and has trained in Shiatsu, Jin Shin Do, Reiki and Kriya Yoga, along with being a former triathlete, runner, cycling enthusiast, husband and father of three girls. I've personally known Roger for over five years, and it's been about three years since I've had him on a podcast (see ""), so I figured that it was high time I had him back, especially since he just released a sugar-free version of my favorite adaptogenic herb complex: . So what is an adaptogen? Adaptogens are a unique category of herbs that facilitate your body’s “adaptation” to stress. They help your body maintain, build or fix its own natural healthy processes, even if you’re exposed to a wide range of external and internal stressors. This means, that, for example, adaptogens can help increase cortisol if cortisol is low, or decrease cortisol if cortisol is high. They can also be used for anything from cognitive performance to enhanced endurance at altitude. Roger is actually the inventor of the exact Chinese adaptogenic blend that holds a special place in my refrigerator: the one I mentioned above called  . Here's the label: Tian Chi is a tiny packet that contains an herbal tonic blend of the most renowned adaptogens in the Orient.  Every herb used in TianChi is far more pure and potent than typical old, ineffective and often dangerous or nasty-ingredient laced herbs on the market. Very few products contain 100% whole herb extracts. On average the herbal extracts are at least 10:1 yields, meaning it takes 10 pounds of raw herb to produce 1 pound of pure extract. Most manufacturers start with pure yield and cut them to concentrations of 4:1 or 5:1 by adding filler. This produces a cheaper, but less effective extract. Imagine buying a 5:1 extract that originally was 45:1! In stark contrast, the herbal extracts used in TianChi yield 12:1 or greater, and there is even one herb in TianChi that is a 45:1 yield. In other words, you would have to take 9x as much herb from any other source to equal the potency in TianChi. And you would be getting mostly filler, harmful ingredients, and very few results. All of the herbs in TianChi are Non-GMO, Kosher Certified and non-irradiated. They are extracted in purified water and test free of heavy metals. And the creator uses only wild crafted herbs – herbs found in their natural state, free from pesticides and exposure to pollution. You will feel this stuff instantly, guaranteed. Below is a complete list of the pure and potent herbs you’ll find inside each pack of TianChi, with a guarantee of extreme freshness. -Schizandra – the “Five flavor berry” is known as a beauty enhancing herb, one of the main herbs pictured with Lady Maku the Goddess of Beauty. It helps restores proper water metabolism to the cells, detoxifies the liver and lungs, and is an important herb for building lung energy. It tonifies the reproductive system, builds sexual fluids and moistens the skin. Schizandra has been successfully used in China to treat hepatitis. It contains over 20 lignans that bind to carcinogenic substances and safely removes them from the body. A mild adaptogen and powerful anti-oxidant, schizandra is the Chinese equivalent to milk thistle. -Reishi Mushroom – Reishi is known as the “Mushroom of Immortality,” and “Herb of Good Fortune”. It is the most highly revered herb in China for its ability to brighten the mind and spirit. Historically used for boosting immunity, liver detoxing, blood purifying and building, and is known as a potent stress reliever. -   -Ashwagandha– Ashwagandha is known as Indian ginseng and one of the most famous of all Ayurvedic herbs. It is a premier adaptogen and has a profound effect on regulating the HPA Axis (hypothalamus/pituitary/adrenal axis) which is the basis of stress response. Although many herbs have been crowded into this category I still maintain that the “Gang of Four”, ashwagandha, rhodiola, reishi and eleuthero, are truly substances that can effectively regulate stress response.   -Rhodiola – Rhodiola is known as the “Rose of Heaven” and “Plateau Ginseng.” It is one of the premier adaptogens in the entire world and one of my personal favorites. Regarded as life-prolonging and wisdom enhancing, it can reduce stress response, is blood purifying and is said to balance both creative and cognitive functions of the brain. One of the best herbs for blood oxygenation, it is useful for all endurance sports. Used to treat depression and chronic fatigue and protects against radiation. It is a favorite herb for cosmonauts and mountain climbers. Rhodiola is a “Three Treasure” tonic, it builds Jing, Chi and Shen.   -Ecklonia Cava – Ecklonia Cava is a seaweed extract that is the most potent plant based antioxidant known. Because it is partially fat-soluble it crosses the blood brain barrier and is particularly useful in controlling inflammation in the brain. Ecklonia Cava lasts for 12 hours in the body, much more than any other antioxidant.   -Eleuthero – This is the herb that launched all of the studies on adaptogenic herbs. Commonly used as an adaptogen in regulating stress response and strengthening adrenal function. It’s famous as a physical endurance and mental enhancing herb used by cosmonauts for its blood oxygen enriching properties. Eleuthero is a great herb for anyone who’s involved in sports or work that demands strength and endurance. It’s more Chi building than Jing, even though I use it primarily for its effect on the kidney-adrenal energy. Eleuthero is seldom sold as a bulk herb as it’s not very nutrient dense. It takes over 40 lbs of good root to make one pound of powdered extract.   -Epimedium – Fepimediumamous as “goat sex tea”, epimedium is known throughout the world as herbal aphrodisiac. Lost in its reputation is that it’s also a great herb for increasing circulation in the brain and improving general immunity. Epimedium adds a spark of Yang or fire to the adrenals and has been shown to increase fertility. It is a Jing tonic.   -Cistanches – Its Chinese neucommia barkame is “Duzhong” having been named after a doctor who took it and achieved great intellectual success. Eucommia is a premier Jing tonic as it contains a perfect balance of Yin and Yang energy. Its main use is in bone strengthening formulas and can be used for increasing fertility and regulating blood pressure.   -Gotu Kola – Gotu Kola is one of the most important rejuvenating herbs in Ayurvedic medicine. It’s used to help revitalize the brain and nerve cells. Gotu Kola is historically used to increase intelligence, memory, longevity and decrease senility. It has been known to support normal immune function and adrenal energy. It is also a powerful blood purifier and is commonly used in Ayurveda to treat chronic skin diseases. Gotu Kola is commonly used by monks and yogis in the Himalayas as an aid to meditation; similar to how Reishi is used in China by the Taoist monks.   -Albizzia Flower – This flower is known as the herb for “forgetting cares and sorrows” and “collective happiness flower”. It is an ultimate Shen tonic and is often used improving memory, circulation, and has mood elevating properties.   -Astragalus – Astragalus is one of the greatest Chi tonics in all of Chinese Herbology. It’s often used as a ginseng replacement in younger people. Recently it has gain great popularity as an immune building herb. It’s used to help strengthen digestion and lung function, for recovery from illness and as an energy building herb. It is said to build Upright Chi, meaning when the lungs are strong and the breath is deep, it promotes good posture and holds the organs in place. Astragalus is an excellent herb for maintaining the Protective Chi circulating on the surface of the skin helping to ward off seasonal illness. If the cold wind seems to bother your neck it’s often a sign you’re Protective Chi is weak.   -Green Tea – One green tea of the most powerful plant-based antioxidants, green tea builds immunity, increases circulation and is a best known for it’s anti-inflammatory properties. Studies have shown it to be valuable for memory enhancement. Most of green tea’s antioxidant polyphenols are from a class called catechins of which EGCG seems to dominate. It has been described as natures most potent anticancer agent.   -Polygonum (Ho Shou Wu) – translates as “Ho’s black hair” one of the main kidney restoratives in Chinese herbology. Legend has it that Ho, an aging lonely hermit living on the edge of town saw a vine intertwined on his walk through the forest. The vines resembled a couple embracing and so he harvested the root, cooked it and consumed the tea. His hair turned back to black from snow white (hence the name) and he actually married and had a son. They both lived to over 100 years old and the herb has since been called Ho’s black hair.   -Lycium (Goji) – LyciGojium is a restorative for the liver and kidneys, popular these days as Goji, and one of the 5 most famous herbs in China. Reputed to be the main food of Li Chen Yuang for the first 125 years of his life (he added some ginseng root for the next half of his life). Li died at a banquet in his honor after consuming a heavy dinner (he was a Taoist hermit who lived on herbs and vegetables) causing a national uproar and disgrace for the public official who hosted the event.   -Other herbs: Anemarrhena, Licorice, Polygala, Clubmoss, Cocoa Bean Extract, Stevia Leaf, Acerola Cherry, and Raspberry.   During my discussion with Roger, you'll discover: -The delicate process via which wildcrafted herbs are actually extracted in China, and exactly how they find their way to the USA... -The important difference between wild and cultivated herbs... -Roger's top herb recommendation for regulating cortisol levels and eliminating adrenal fatigue issues... -The truth about whether resveratrol really does have an anti-aging effect... -How D-Ribose rebuilds your energy stores and ATP levels, and exactly how much you need... -Why so many smart drugs and nootropic compounds use the substance "choline" in their formulations, the form of choline that contains the highest concentrations of actual choline... -Why Roger isn't a fan of using regular stevia mixed with adaptogenic herb extracts, and instead uses a specialized form of stevia root... -The main differences between Tian Chi and Inner Peace...   Resources from this episode: - - -My previous podcast with Roger "" - Do you have questions, comments or feedback for me or Roger about Chinese adaptogenic herbs, Tian Chi, or anything else we discuss in this podcast.
