Look who is coming for dinner! is a podcast hosted by Bob Trigg from his studio on the Central coast of NSW, Australia. Guests are invited to choose 5 (five) musicians who they would like to invite over for dinner at their house. The 5 musicians can be from ANY period of time (eg from Mozart - a member of Metallica), or even from a movie or cartoon (eg Elwood Blues or Bleedin’ Gums Murphy…) Basically, the guest can choose the 5 musos who they would love to have a dinner with, and along the way they get to tell why they chose each guest, what they plan to serve the guests, who will be sitting next to who etc…sounds FABULOUS!!!

On this epidode of the LWICFD! Podcast it gives me great pleasure to introduce you to Michael “Petrol” Petritsch who is a guitar tech by trade (altho he makes rad coffee on the side). Petrol has tech'd for HEAPS of bands (we talk about a few of them on the ep.) and is about to go on the road with Northlane for a huge tour of Europe & then back here in Australia (dates etc. in the show notes). Petrol & I have a cool chat about guitar teching & what's involved, some of the bands he has worked for & tattoos (amongst other things) plus we get to hear about who he would want to sit down to dinner with when he's not on the road… Massive thanks to @shizafrigginhotsauce for the Friggin' hot sauce & sponsoring my show again this year. It's hotter than Petrols frequent flyer card for the next 6+ months (and previous few years)

Since then Caro has done so many things to do with touring, promoting & managing bands etc. it was really hard to condense it all into one episode, especially as it had been several years since we had properly caught up. I owe Caro a HUGE thank you for giving me a chance all those years ago and it was very special for me to have her on my podcast

Happy 1st Birthday to LWICFD! Thats right, on this day last year (22/8/23) ep#1 dropped & now here we are, all grown up with 31 eps out there & 1 year old! Whilst also being a day of celebration, it's also a very bittersweet day for me as it also marks the 5yr anniversary of my dear Dad dying. However, rather than sit around & continue to get all depressed & upset at this same time each year, I decided to try & make this day a happier one for me which is why I dropped ep1 on this date, as kind of a tribute to my Dad & also to help me deal with it in my own way. My Dad was a great bloke, he loved music & food & he loved having dinner parties with my Mum & their mates. Dad was also a Research Scientist & so after he died my Mum, brother & I decided to set up a scholarship in Dads name to assist a PhD student who is researching Glioblastomas (or GBM, which is the type of cancer my Dad had). This year the Tim Trigg Scholarship for Glioblastoma research was awarded for the first time & the person who it was awarded to is my guest on this VERY special episode of LWICFD!

In his free time, Andy also is a DJ + proud husband & father & like I wrote above, it was an absolute honour to have Andy on this episode. BiG thanks to @shizafrigginhotsauce for the Friggin' hot sauce & sponsoring my show. Apple podcasts keeps chopping off all my links so until I work out a solution, I gotta keep this short. My guest this week is Chris “Choaty” Choat. Back in my touring days, Choaty was my R-Adelaide local man with the van & the tan (+ sometimes the plan!) as we got the band we were working for at the time from A - Z & all the letters in between on the touring alphabet. Choaty also hosts a long time radio show on DDD radio (Adelaide) & is a “Dirt Merchant” (tune into find out WTF that is.)
Good day listeners! This weeks guest on LWICFD! podcast is Dan Condon! Dan is the music editor at Double J radio (what that exactly is is explained in the poddy) but I first met Dan when he joined The Grates as their touring 2nd guitarist / keys player / banjo player / Panda Bear
ATTENTION! “Call it violent soul music, call it cold fear rock. This is music to be felt in the fist, the gut and the base of the spine!” Murray Engleheart (Remedy) The band being referred to above is Adelaide, SA trio The Mark of Cain & it blows my mind that I have TMOC Bass player Kim Scott as my very special guest on the show this week. I started listening to TMOC in 1995 when I first heard a song of theirs called LMA off the “Ill At Ease” record, which I played on repeat & still do to this day. Fast forward to 2006 & lucky old me got asked to do their live sound for a 7 date national tour = Mind. Blown.
EPISODE 14 - JUSTINE ATKINS Hey heeeey! This episode of LWICFD! welcomes my awesome & HILARIOUS friend, JUSTINE!!! Juzzy is the perfect guest to round out the Australian Music Month for LWICFD! because she is a #1 fan of music & going to shows & festivals (btw her

EPISODE 12 - CHRIS “WOODSY” WOODS HöNK! HöNK! That's the sound the big wheelers make & a sound that I
LWICFD! ep.11 welcomes LUKE “BOO” JOHNSTON!!! If you have ever been to see a gig that The Bronx, The Jezabels, The Chats, Frenzal Rhomb, Alex Lahey & many more too numerous to mention were playing, the chances are that Boo was the tour manager & / or guitar / drum / stage tech for that tour. Right now he is currently on the road with Grinspoon as they zoom around Oz on their “Easy Detention Tour” 2023. (He's also doing a few shows with The Bronx in the middle of this run too!) When he's not being a hard-core Road RAT (and I mean that in the nicest possible terms - Boo started a company called Road Agent Touring Services @roadagenttouringservices aka RATS
LWICFD! ep.10 welcomes JAMES TIDSWELL!!! (From legendary Brisbane / Meanjin band VIOLENT SOHO & now DOMESTIC LA LA records) James is one of the most passionate music fans that I have ever met & his knowledge & photographic memory for all things totally blew me away. His enthusiasm for life is infectious & we had an EPIC chat about anything & everything including BBQ, fanboying over rockstars & Costa from Gardening Australia, craft beer, cars (including the iconic Commodore V-series
I cannot believe that LWICFD! ep.9 introduces one of my favourite drummers…John Stanier!!! John has been a HUGE influence not only on me as I thrash around on a drum kit from time to time, but also on literally MASSES of other drummers / musicians / headbangers around the world
EPISODE 8 - KEVIN MITCHELL LWICFD! ep.8 welcomes my good mate, KEVIN MITCHELL!!! whom y'all might recognise from deadset legendary Aussie band Jebediah & also Kevs other project, Bob Evans. Full disclaimer - this is a very special episode for me - Like most people my age (now mid+forfties but back then I had just turned 18) I first encountered Kev & his pals Brett, Ness & Chris (aka Jebediah) when I heard them on JJJ in that most glorious & special of decades, THE 90s
EPISODE 7 - AMIEL VAN EWYK LWICFD! ep.7 welcomes my deep thinking good mate, AMIEL VAN EWYK!!! Amiel is a born & bred Killcare, NSW 2257 person whom I met after I moved to the area. Currently he is a loving husband & father of 2 cool kids, who shares that love with old cars & motorbikes as well as being a self-employed-professional-hole-digger…tune in to find out more! But before that Amiel was the singer in the legendary, much too short lived stöner punk rock band called ra stranger. This band is so mysterious they don't even have any social media!!
LWICFD! ep.6 welcomes my very funny & long time friend, LOREN MCHENRY!!! It was a crazy hot & dusty Tamworth Country Music Festival that was the backdrop to my first ever meeting Loz & hanging out with her & the band she managed at the time… (Spurs For Jesus). Days were fuelled by heinous Woodstock Bourbon & Cola cans combined with sweat, some tears & possibly some blood from the big punch-on I witnessed at a Tamworth venue whose name escapes me (The Imperial??) Anyway since those rowdy days, Loz has also been a hairdresser, DJ & band member as well as becoming a booking agent for various bands & now heaps of venues & working on a lot of festivals here on the Cenny Coast. It was so great to catch up with Loz & hear about her adventures along the way & where it all started for her. The dinner party will be off chops too, especially with the “KRAPPY-OKE” styled kick-on, so giddy up!
LWICFD! ep.5 stars my good mate, Mr SEAN FRAZER!!! I met Sean back when I was galavanting around town with my hair styled in an electric blue mohawk, slinging gourmet meat tubes aka sausages
EPISODE 4 - DAN BRODIE LWICFD! ep.4 features my long time friend Mr. DAN BRODIE!!! I have known Dan for 20+ years, he is one of the OG bands that I first ever toured with and we have a great chat about our first tour together (and a couple of other ones we did over the next 15 years), Dans record deal with a major label, what he is up to now (including his new record which came out last week called “The Ballad Of Cowboy Dan” - links below) and of course his 5 dinner guests at his party, which will be a banger for the ages. Chuck in a few extra stories about Dan's fateful gig at my wedding and an awesome gig floating on a barge in a bay, plus how he now is a shredder on the Piano Accordion (links below) and you only just scratch the surface of our chat. Just a quick note, seeing as we are old long lost OG BFFs, when I started recording the zoom (when if finally fuckn connected), we just started to talk as you do and it was only after about 10 mins when I realised I hadn't done a formal introduction…
EPISODE 3 - GREG CAREY LWICFD! ep.3 features my good mate - GREG CAREY!!! I've only recently met Greg in person (last year to be exact) when he put on a big function to celebrate the Central Coast Music and Arts scene, but I had been told by a bunch of mutual mates that we need to meet each other and have a bro-down, as we would probably be mates… which I'm glad to report is true. Even tho I've only known Greg for a short time I knew that he has a whole stack of interesting stuff going on (as you're about to hear about) and I was fascinated by how he does it all and especially as we're of a similar age, I was pretty blown away to be honest. I'm not going to write much here as I'm going to let Greg speak for himself (despite my interruptions - sorry I'm getting better!) but links to all the stuff we talk about in the show are below and I really hope you enjoy Gregs dinner party as much as I did!
EP. 2 - PATIENCE HODGSON LWICFD! ep.2 features my first real guest - PATIENCE HODGSON!!! I first met Patience in 2003 when she was on tour with her band The Grates. A few years later I was asked to become their touring sound engineer & production manager & my amazing wife Anna became their Tour Manager & off we went around the world on a kray rock adventure for the next several years… Patience & I are old mates who had a lot to catch up on, but the best way to describe what we talked about is by reading the following transcript that I was sent from the A.I.
