I was happily going through life devoted to my career as a healer and massage therapist. I then went back to school in my mid-thirties to get my Masters in Oriental Medicine. Suddenly I started feeling the clock ticking, even though I was extremely busy and did not have a partner at the time. I had always been hesitant to bring a child into this world, but did not want to miss out. Five years later, I did end up getting married and carried a baby into the end of the first trimester before I had a miscarriage. I was 42 years old. It was then that I learned for the first time that miscarriages, especially in the first trimester, are extremely common. I connected with many women who suffer this trauma silently. Never-the-less, I was devasted. I started studying everything I could about infertility and how to fix it. That is when I discovered the work of Weston Price, a dentist in the 1930s. His ancestral, nutrient dense diet was an integral part of cultivating a new, more wholistic approach to how I view fertility and women's health. I ended up leaving my first marriage a year after my miscarriage. I remarried and my second husband and I tried for a while. I was fully into peri-menopause by my mid forties and I knew my body did not want to have a child. We participated in two adoption trainings, including Foster Care. In the end we chose a different path and we both really enjoy being the “fun aunt and uncle” to our nieces and nephews. It takes a village. I consider every illness or seeming mishap as an opportunity to study, learn and then serve my patients from a heart centered perspective. I really enjoy teaching about how to prepare your body for pregnancy as a process similar to building the soil in the garden. Natural fertility treatments are slower, yet much better for a woman's body and for the baby's health. Seeing the babies I helped bring into the world at a super market or farmer's market is a really joyful reward. I am a Doctor of Oriental Medicine practicing acupuncture and herbal medicine in Reno, Nevada. I practiced massage for 15 years and acupuncture for the last fourteen years. I specialize in relieving chronic pain, optimizing hormones and digestion and women's health. I enjoy doing patient education and teach classes on qi gong, acupressure and nutrition. Depraved and Debaucherous goes Inside Korea's 4B Movement: No More Men and No More Kids. Do you expect the modern American women will embrace this?In a bold societal shift, the 4B Movement in South Korea is gaining traction, advocating for a future without men and without children. This movement, which stands for "No Boyfriends, No Marriage, No Children, and No Sex," challenges traditional gender norms and family structures, sparking widespread debate and curiosity.Originating in online communities and grassroots activism, the 4B Movement has found a following among young South Korean women disillusioned with societal expectations and gender inequality. Supporters argue that rejecting romantic relationships, marriage, and motherhood allows women to reclaim their autonomy and focus on personal and professional pursuits without the constraints of traditional gender roles. The movement's proponents cite various reasons for their stance, including concerns about the gender pay gap, the burden of childcare and household responsibilities falling disproportionately on women, and the pressures of conforming to societal beauty standards and expectations. However, critics express skepticism and concern over the long-term implications of the 4B Movement. Some worry about its impact on South Korea's already declining birth rate, which is one of the lowest in the world. Others question whether such extreme measures are necessary to address gender inequality and advocate for more nuanced approaches to societal change.Despite the controversy, the 4B Movement continues to grow in visibility and influence, with supporters organizing events, workshops, and online campaigns to promote their message. Whether it will lead to tangible societal change or remain a provocative yet fringe movement remains to be seen, but its emergence underscores the ongoing conversation around gender, relationships, and family dynamics in South Korea and beyond.Contact KOP for professional podcast production, imaging, and web design services at http://www.kingofpodcasts.com and click on Let KOP build your podcast.Subscribe to the YouTube channel @kingofpodcastsFind all past episodes, plus where to subscribe to the show (how to financially support the show and get access to more exclusive content) and how to follow KOP on social media at kingofpodcasts.com/Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/depraved-and-debaucherous--5267208/support.

église AB Lausanne ; KJV Genesis 16 Now Sarai Abram's wife bare him no children: and she had an handmaid, an Egyptian, whose name was Hagar. And Sarai said unto Abram, Behold now, the LORD hath restrained me from bearing: I pray thee, go in unto my maid; it may be that I may obtain children by her. And Abram hearkened to the voice of Sarai. And Sarai Abram's wife took Hagar her maid the Egyptian, after Abram had dwelt ten years in the land of Canaan, and gave her to her husband Abram to be his wife. And he went in unto Hagar, and she conceived: and when she saw that she had conceived, her mistress was despised in her eyes. And Sarai said unto Abram, My wrong be upon thee: I have given my maid into thy bosom; and when she saw that she had conceived, I was despised in her eyes: the LORD judge between me and thee. But Abram said unto Sarai, Behold, thy maid is in thy hand; do to her as it pleaseth thee. And when Sarai dealt hardly with her, she fled from her face. And the angel of the LORD found her by a fountain of water in the wilderness, by the fountain in the way to Shur. And he said, Hagar, Sarai's maid, whence camest thou? and whither wilt thou go? And she said, I flee from the face of my mistress Sarai. And the angel of the LORD said unto her, Return to thy mistress, and submit thyself under her hands. And the angel of the LORD said unto her, I will multiply thy seed exceedingly, that it shall not be numbered for multitude. ...

Natasha is a British-Asian woman who was born with a bicornate uterus, who found out at 21 that carrying a child to term would be very difficult and dangerous. This helped Natasha make a careful, considered choice about being childfree, but it was the final disappointment for her traditional Hindu parents who she's now cut out of her life. This was an eye-opening conversation about growing up in England as someone of South Asian heritage, being “not brown enough” for some people, and breaking free of your family's rigid expectations to create a lovely childfree life for yourself.Read Natasha's story on We are Childfree: “It was very much a decision thrust upon me at a really young age so it's probably why I've thought about it more than my peers.”Join your community of childfree cheerleaders and sign up for a We are Childfree membership today!
Jon Wurster started playing drums in Superchunk in the early 90s. He currently plays drums in The Mountain Goats and with Bob Mould. He also famously played the character Ronald Thomas Clontle on The Best Show with Tom Scharpling and declared that Madness invented ska! And Jon certainly jokes around about ska a lot, but when he was a teenager, he really loved the 2 Tone ska bands like The Specials and English Beat. He was also a big fan of The Hooters during their early 80s ska phase. And more recently, Jon skanked and played tambourine on stage during the infamous Ska No Children incident. (Sad Snack opened for The Mountain Goats in San Francisco and played their ska cover of "No Children.") We bring Jon on today to talk about ska. He tells us that he used to practice drums to the Dance Craze soundtrack. We talk about his connection to the band Dead Milkmen. (Amongst other things, he booked their first show!) We discuss his nickname Johnny Earthshoe and we talk about two key shows he attended with The Police. (The Specials and Rhoda Dakar were at one of them) He also tells us about missing his high school prom for The Meatmen, Ska band The Pressure Boys' connection to Superchunk, and we try to figure out the name of the ska artist that was featured on a DVD he owns (It turns out it was King Django) Support the show

Why do we never talk about involuntary male childlessness? A quarter of men do not have children and for many of them this is not through choice. Join me as I sit down with my guest, Dr. Robin Hadley, academic and author of 'How is a Man Supposed to be a Man?'. We explore male childlessness, the stereotypes that often stifle men's discussions about their yearning for parenthood and their struggles with fertility. With Dr. Hadley's expert insight, we navigate the emotional labyrinth faced by these men and tackle the societal norms that equate virility with fatherhood. As our conversation unfolds, we turn the spotlight on the evolving perceptions of fatherhood. We delve into the pressures men face when considering paternity leave and the repercussions of the gig economy on their decision. We take a closer look at grandparenthood and its function as a social bridge for children in the absence of their parents. Moreover, we bring into focus the harsh reality of older adults without a support network or children to care for them and the uphill battle they face in society. Finally, we discuss - the profound psychological impact of male infertility. We rip apart societal misconceptions that exacerbate the stigmas around male childlessness and infertility. Dr. Hadley emphasizes the critical need for therapy and the establishment of safe spaces for men to express their vulnerability. So, tune in as we break barriers, challenge conventional wisdom, and underscore the significance of understanding and empathising with the emotional challenges encountered by childless men.#MaleChildlessnes #Infertility #ParenthoodStruggles #DrRobinHadley #FatherhoodPerceptions #EmotionalChallenges #MensHealth #Stereotypes #SupportNetworks #TherapyForMen #InvoluntaryChildlessness #FertilityJourney #PaternityLeave #GigEconomyImpact #Grandparenthood #SupportingChildlessMen #SocialNorms #MentalHealthMatters #BreakingStigmas #SafeSpacesForMen #UnderstandingEmotions #ChallengingSocietalExpectations #MaleInfertility #EmpathyMatters #MenTalkParenthood #bbc #bbcnews #gmb #skynews #worldchildlessweek #babiesRegenerateSupport the showhttps://www.angelawalkerreports.com/

We've had a lot of requests to hear from couples about how they navigate the childfree choice together, so we reached out to Xander, husband and business partner of sex therapist Vanessa Marin. The couple opened up on their Pillow Talks podcast about their decision not to have children, in what proved to be their most popular episode ever!Xander told us how they arrived at their choice, and when they did, how this “domino belief” gave them permission to create a life together that truly fulfils them. It was great to hear from a man about how his experience differs from his wife's, how they've coped with their families' expectations, and how they counsel parents about their relationships and sex lives.Check out Vanessa and Xander Marin on vmtherapy.com and their Instagram.Pillow Talks: The Truth About Why We're Child FreePillow Talks: How To Decide If You Should Have Kids Or Not. Labor Pains: Dealing with infertility and loss during pregnancy or infancy.
Terry Kitzmiller was told due to a birth defect she may not be able to carry a pregnancy to full term. After experiencing several traumatic miscarriages and almost losing her life, the decision was made to not try again. Terry became focused on her career. The miscarriages and the loss of never having children would surface in many ways for years. Until it surfaced, big time in a class. During this class she learned tools and new strategies to work through the losses she experienced. Inside this episode you will learn how Terry: Stepped back from trying to have a family Released the emotions of being a failure for not being able to give her husband children Lean into her grief and loss Handled the hurtful words people say Navigated the guilt with maybe I should have tried IVF or adoption "What you choose in this moment isn't your choice forever. Don't second guess yourself and give yourself grace to heal. You are not defined by your choice. Surround yourself with positivity and take time to sit in your grief." ~~ Terry Kitzmiller Connect with Teresa: EMAIL: teresa.livingaftergrief.com Facebook https://www.facebook.com/.livingaftergrief/. Like a lot of artists, portrait photographer Laura Zalenga is a dreamer. She imagines a future when generations live together, so the older people she met during her "Beauty of Age" project feel useful, and younger folks can benefit from their experience and wisdom. In this utopia, childfree people and parents support each other, and everyone has access to the education and choices that allow them to live the life that's right for them. What a wonderful world that would be! This was a super inspiring conversation with a fellow photographer who reminded me of the power of art to change how people think, how they live.Find Laura at laurazalenga.com and follow her on Instagram at @laurazalenga. Her incredible "Beauty of Age" Adobe Creative Residency project can be found at beautyofage.myportfolio.comAnd the podcast episode she mentioned is Sterilised at 23, with Daniela Echeverry from season 1 of We are Childfree.Join the movement at wearechildfree.com ✊
It can be hard trying to decide if you want children or not, and it can be doubly difficult when there are two people involved in the decision. That's why I wanted to speak to today's guest, Melanie Hunter, who went with her husband to couple's therapy, specifically to unpack the question: should they have kids? It was fascinating to hear about how they made an intentional choice to be childfree, and heeded their therapists' advice that, if you're not going to make a baby, you should create something else together: a purpose, a life.Follow Melanie on Instagram @melaniehunter888.Check out the great work of Best Buddies International. And the book Melanie referred to is Cunt: A Declaration of Independence, by Inga Muscio.
I invited Emma Hollen onto the pod because of a super-entertaining Twitter thread about her struggle to get a tubal ligation, and her eventual success, at age 30. As a pansexual, non-binary person, Emma doesn't feel that she fits the narrow definition of "woman" that society would force her into. And, as a science journalist, she taught me a lot about the diversity of the natural world, our place in the universe, and our chemical urge to procreate - which is distinct and different from some people's desire to have and raise a child. Read the Twitter thread that tells the story of Emma's sterilisation... with GIFs!Listen to the podcast episode Emma referred to, No doubts, with journalist Sarah Chebaro.
I try a drizzle of oil and salt on some ice cream plus read out some horror stories about kids at weddings and why wedding rules are so important.
