Gardaí have identified a person of interest in the disappearance of Icelandic man Jon Jonsson. The suspect, who's from Liverpool, is a veteran criminal with a history of large scale drug dealing.Jonsson, who'd come to Ireland for a poker tournament, vanished on February the 9th 2019. He was caught on CCTV leaving the Bonnington Hotel on the Swords Road in north Dublin.Beyond those images, Gardaí have no information about where he went and no trace of him has since been uncovered. Vuxna drack inte mjölk det svenska bondesamhället – tvärtom ansågs det slösaktigt att dricka mjölken istället för att göra ost eller smör. Detta skulle förändras under 1900-talet när mjölkpropaganda fick oss att förknippa mjölken med modernitet och hälsa.En kraftfull, statligt stödd mjölkpropaganda som påverkade allt från skolbespisningar till mejeributikernas utbud förändrade vår relation till mjölken. Bakom denna framgångsrika kampanj låg en föreställning om mjölken som något unikt svenskt – en oskuldsfull och naturlig dryck som kunde bidra till att bygga ett starkare folk. På 1950-talet drack svensken i snitt 220 liter mjölk om året.I detta avsnitt av podden Historia Nu samtalar programledaren Urban Lindstedt med Håkan Jönsson, etnolog och författare till boken Mjölk – en kulturanalys av mejeridiskens nya ekonomi.Mjölken kom att bära moderna värden som hygien, rationalitet och framsteg, samtidigt som den förknippades med barndom, nation och trygghet. Men detta var ingen slump. Genom ett samspel mellan industri, politik och medicinsk expertis lyckades mejerinäringen positionera mjölken som något mer än bara föda – den blev en ideologisk dryck.Ända in på 1900-talet betraktades färsk mjölk med viss misstänksamhet – som något omoraliskt och slösaktigt i ett bondesamhälle där grädde och smör var mer värdefulla. Först med industrialiseringens framsteg, såsom pastörisering och urban distribution, började färsk mjölk säljas i större skala till stadsbor. När den medicinska forskningen samtidigt började lyfta fram mjölkens innehåll av vitaminer, mineraler och protein, blev drycken en naturlig bundsförvant i kampen mot undernäring – särskilt bland barn och arbetarklass.En avgörande aktör i denna utveckling var Föreningen Mjölkpropagandan, grundad 1923. Föreningen bedrev omfattande informations- och reklamverksamhet i form av broschyrer, filmer, skollektioner, mjölkveckor och inte minst de populära mjölkbarerna. På Stockholmsutställningen 1930 lanserades mjölkbarerna som en del av en ny funktionalistisk och modern livsstil. Mjölken blev där en symbol för det rationella samhället – homogeniserad, standardiserad och förpackad i fyrkantiga kartonger.Mjölkens symbolik användes också i formandet av en svensk identitet. Den ansågs vara ursvensk, till skillnad från kontinentala drycker som vin eller kaffe. Reklam och undervisning genomsyrades av budskap om mjölkens naturlighet och dess koppling till ett sunt nordiskt ideal. Den var en dryck som kunde ena både högern och vänstern: för bonderörelsen var den en ekonomisk livlina, för socialdemokratin ett redskap för att förbättra folkhälsan.Mjölkens politiska laddning fick också mer problematiska uttryck. Under 1930-talet användes den i rasideologiska sammanhang för att illustrera skillnader mellan det "rena" nordiska och det "exotiska" andra.
