A Gluten Free Podcast Episode 179In today's episode, I'm taking a moment to reflect on our incredible conversation last week with Iron Ramen — a gluten free Japanese restaurant built from the ground up after their son's coeliac diagnosis. We'll explore the powerful idea of doing one thing and doing it really well, and how that can lead to incredible growth — not just in business, but in life. I'll also talk about how Iron Ramen's journey reminds me of the concept of Ikigai, a Japanese philosophy about finding your reason for being, something I first came across in a book that had a big impact on me.Finding inspiration and motivation can feel tough sometimes in our gluten free lives, especially when coeliac disease can make things harder. But stories like Iron Ramen's — and the conversation I'm about to have next week with a podcast listener — show that if you don't let your diagnosis hold you back, you can find your purpose and live a great gluten free life.I'll also share a personal update on how I believe I'm finding my own Ikigai through this podcast, our community, and everything we're building at A Gluten Free Family. And, excitingly, for the first time, I'll introduce something I've wanted to do for a long time: sharing a listener's story. Next week, you'll hear from someone who has gained a lot from this podcast, and I'll sit down with them to hear their gluten free journey and how this community has impacted their life.In This Episode:A recap of our last episode with Iron Ramen: doing one thing, doing it well, and growing from thereHow a son's coeliac diagnosis inspired a thriving gluten free businessAn introduction to Ikigai: what it means and how it applies to living well with coeliac diseaseHow Iron Ramen found their Ikigai — and how it's inspiring others in the gluten-free communityMy personal journey with finding Ikigai through A Gluten Free Family and this podcastHow we can all find motivation and purpose after a coeliac diagnosisA look ahead: a special interview with a listener who found support and encouragement through this podcastHow finding your gluten free Ikigai can then help others in a similar situation to you Next week's guest: previewing our chat with Stephen about pushing through challenges and not letting anything stop youWhat is Ikigai? Ikigai (生き甲斐) is a Japanese concept meaning “a reason for being.” It's the sweet spot where what you love, what you're good at, what the world needs, and what you can be paid for all come together. It's about living with purpose, passion, and balance — even in the small, everyday moments.Resources Mentioned:Ikigai: The Japanese Secret to a Long and Happy Life by Héctor García and Francesc MirallesIron Ramen (link to website/socials)Connect with A Gluten Free Family:Instagram: @aglutenfreefamilyFacebook: A Gluten Free Podcast Facebook GroupWebsite: www.aglutenfreefamily.comDisclaimerThe content on this podcast is not a substitution for professional medical advice. Does working in schools have you feeling stuck with no control over your career? If you want to get that control back, this episode is for you!Today I am joined by Darla Gardner, an SLP with a pediatric private practice outside of Dallas, Texas. Darla worked for over 20 years as a school-based SLP. After learning the school administration wanted her to move to a different campus, she decided to join our Start Your Private Practice Program and start a private practice instead. In this episode, Darla shares her private practice startup journey, from how she kept overhead costs low, to the fulfillment she gets from meeting the needs of her community.Darla was a school-based SLP for 21 years. During this time, she developed a passion for partnering with parents to intentionally target early speech and language skills in the home. After discovering that low-income, pre-school-aged children in her area were on 18+ month waiting lists for speech therapy services at clinics more than 20 miles away, she decided to open her own clinic, Wonderfully Made Therapies.Through her private practice, she can serve the children most at risk for later academic concerns by providing early speech and language services close to home. In Today's Episode, We Discuss:Darla's history of working in schoolsRecognizing the gap between what the school offered and what her patients needed How she went about furnishing her practice for cheapWhat happens when you get out of your head and put yourself out thereHow private practice lets her work with parents more than she could in the schoolsThe variety of services Darla's practice offers now and what she hopes to offer in the futureIf you want to better meet the needs of your community in a way the schools can't, I hope Darla's story will inspire you!Whether you want to start a private practice (like Darla!) or grow your existing private practice, I can help you get the freedom, flexibility, fulfillment, and financial abundance that you deserve. Bob Peck is the Author of the incredible book "Original Sin is a Lie: How Spirituality Defies Dogma and Reveals Our True Self." Bob is also a mystic and a self-proclaimed 'lover of unity & truth.' If you've ever felt like the religions of the world must share some commonality and wondered how it all fits together, then this book is for you. Bob teaches up that "Original Sin" is a lie because we are inherent Goodness, and how the world mystic traditions have emphasized this loving message across history and across the globe. We discuss the major points of his book, of Jesus and the Bible, of world traditions and teachings, of mystics through he ages, and just what sin even is, anyway. We cover: How Christianity has some issues, but Jesús is worth sincere contemplation How the Bible is NOT infallible, but like other religious scriptures, has some real gems How Eastern philosophy is boundlessly profound, and provides a solid foundation for living a harmonious life How all paths can get you thereHow we're already there: It's merely a matter of removing our own ignorance of our not-there-ness And so much more! And we can all scroll social any day and see and hear what authenticity means to someone with a big Instagram following. But what does it really mean? And more importantly, what does authenticity mean to YOU?A lot of times, when we are not living lives true to who we are, we sidestep dealing with our feelings by throwing ourselves into other things, like work, people, or jam-packed calendars that leave us little time to get in touch with how we are really feeling about how things are going. But not looking and what's going on internally can rob you of everything you want for your life. So how can you learn to move past your biggest fears and beyond your coping mechanisms to use your intuitive gifts for a more prosperous, fulfilling life? In this episode of The NO Bullsh*t Manifestation Show, Kat has the pleasure of talking with Alan Howard. Alan, after leaving my 9-5 job to travel the world, found himself living in the middle of the Amazon jungle with an indigenous tribe, which was a lifelong dream of his. The time he spent living with hunter gatherers was the most powerful & profound experience of his life. It was the catalyst for Alan to then start a digital marketing agency called Sacha which invested 15% of their profits to help protect this Amazon community.Back in December of 2020, Alan sold his agency to follow his deepest heart's desire which is helping others discover & follow their passionate work. Something he had been doing on the side, over the last 2 years, has been coaching others to get into alignment with their heart's desires. Alan explains, it was a hard decision to sell the agency but it allowed him to step into his passions closest to his heart. Alan believes that each one of us has a unique gift to give to the world and the reason we are all here is to discover that gift, that mission, and to get the true joy and bliss that exists from pursuing it each day. Key points of this spicy & passion-filled conversation:Alan's journey of what has allowed him to listen to & follow his heart's desires to create a life of authenticity & passionDiscovering how your subconscious programming is typically based off of societal standards & expectations, and how to understand what your heart actually wantsLearning how to trust what you truly WANT to do VS what you feel like you “should” doThe way that your heart's desires show up in your life & how to start to recognize when it is time to listen to your desiresShedding old layers of identities allows you to continue to follow your bliss & ultimately lead a life that is aligned with your heart's desiresUnderstanding how your relationship with yourself is the most important relationship that you will ever haveManifesting the things that you desire in your life is a process of getting your “innerworld” into alignment because all of the things that you desire are a byproduct of thatTrue happiness is about the journey, not the destination - the money, success, etc. does not bring you fulfillment unless you are enjoying your process of getting thereHow to support & encourage the men in your life follow their heart's desiresCreating the space & environment where you & your man can both be fully expressed in what is in your heart in every moment If you are interested in learning more about Alan, connecting with him and/or working with him, check out the links below: Instagram: @ahowy https://www.instagram.com/ahowy/ Website: https://www.alanlhoward.com/ Youtube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCMZ3XISGrNyMXI2rpxc-C9g To connect with Kat & join in on what she has to offer, check out the links below:Join Kat's Signature Online Manifestation Program - The Abundant *AF* Babe Academy: https://www.katcozadd.com/academyPrivate Facebook Community: https://www.facebook.com/groups/manifestationandmoney Kat's Instagram: @katcozadd - https://www.instagram.com/katcozadd/

How to Be Confident in Your Relationships Podcast #403   Being confident in relationships is a manifestation of small, daily habits that everyone can do. Confidence will increase the quality of communication and connection you have with others. This podcast episode will dive into how to be strong, contributing, and confident as a partner in your relationships, how to date with confidence and how to be in a relationship that leaves a legacy. Get the full show notes at www.trishblackwell.com/403 In this episode of The Confidence Podcast we're talking about:  Validating yourself in relationships - without being co-dependentTrusting people, being vulnerable and putting yourself out thereHow to have more intimacy - and confidence - in your connection with your partner This all stemmed from some College of Confidence members who wanted to know more about how to validate yourself in relationships without relying on other's affirmations to make you feel secure. A relationship is a connection, but to have deep relationships, we have to be vulnerable. We have to take risks.  SPONSORSHIP NOTE: Today's show is brought to you by Beautycounter, the safer beauty company that has a mission to disrupt the beauty industry with a demand for clean beauty. I was looking for a podcast to seriously help my confidence and change my perspective on the world and I'm so happy I came across this. I love her and her positivity and how helpful every little sentence in the podcast is! I've sent it to friends and family and they love it as well. Thank you! I've changed and learned so much!    HOW TO BE CONFIDENT ON YOUR OWN IN A RELATIONSHIP If you're a word of affirmation person, this almost seems like a contradiction, but I promise you, it's possible. You must be willing to be yourself -and to be honest. 1. Know yourself. Be yourself. 2. Have confidence about what you bring to the relationship. 3. Give yourself confidence - through journaling, through taking action, through coaching, through spending time with God, through challenging yourself, etc. 4. Ask for what you need - and be honest about how compliments encourage you.I spoon fed my husband what he needs to say to encourage me. How did I figure it out? I had to first know what I needed.  All relationships need time together and time apart. Allow one another to go do their own thing - to fill their bucket, and then also prioritize filling your bucket as a couple. Make your relationships baseline foundation open communication. Communicate about everything - the more you communicate, the more confidence you will have. Be patient though, every partnership communicates differently.  Be willing to be emotionally brave - to talk about uncomfortable things. Do you want a better sex life? Talk about it, it detail. Explore it together and be honest.Do you want more intimacy? Let your partner know ways to connect in this way - and that you are feeling disconnected.Do you want an unbreakable marriage? Put your marriage first. Make it your top priority. And, ya'll, be ready to not only be on the communicating end of this but also the receiving end. At times, this will not just be hard but will hurt. Brandon recently said he missed me - he is often the one who points out that we are living side-by-side instead of intertwined together. I so badly want to brush it off, but he craves quality time - and it matters to make that my top priority.    TRUSTING PEOPLE, BEING VULNERABLE,

Chantelle Raven explores the collective shadow that we all embody to some degree (until we become conscious of it!). We discuss the Victim, Addict, Self-Sabotage, and the Know It All. These energies come to impact and run our lives in destructive ways until we become lovingly conscious of them — think of Dr Jeckel and Mr Hyde: what we try to repress comes out.To become powerful is to know thyself. To have genuine peace and harmonious relationships is to open to ALL of ourselves. This is how these energies become our allies. In this episode, we discover:What is a collective shadow vs personal shadow?Consequences of repressing the energiesHard and soft trauma and how these affect youThe wounded child archetype and how to heal yourself rather than searching for it out thereHow allow your nervous system to be comfortable with the uncomfortable (how to stay full present, totally alive and totally out of control)Feeding the demons: giving you shadow what it really needsHow to become self-responsibleHow to develop the inner family: a father and mother energy withinEmbodying the divine child who is playful, trusting, and joyfulThis talk was recorded at Eliyah Tantra School’s Ignite Your Power Retreat. Van life: what started as a trend has only grown, evolving into a full-fledged movement in the US and beyond. And despite the multitude of vacation-style photos online showcasing this mobile living arrangement, there are many practical reasons people choose to live on the road for more than a couple weeks-- and no, it typically has nothing to do with Instagram. While the roots of living in your vehicle are several decades old-- it's not a novel concept whatsoever-- there are more tools now than ever to make it accessible, and because of the economic outlook many Millennials are facing, the hashtag-turned-movement is also becoming a viable option to address affordable housing and creating a promising financial outlook. That said, as you'll hear on this episode, it's not so easy to go against the social grain and there are true challenges associated with not having a stable mailing address, crossing state lines regularly, and dealing with local community policies around vehicle habitation. To join this in-depth conversation, two incredible female travelers are giving their insights-- Bre Acio and Lacey Mayer, a couple who go by @theladiesvan on Instagram. Bre and Lacey are not only incredibly passionate about finding ways to make vanlife and long term vehicle habitation more socially acceptable, but own two businesses that do their part to make it more accessible to those who want to get on the road.In this episode, you'll hear:What got Lacey and Bre's business, SD Campervans, startedHow they have made campervan conversions as accessible as possibleWhat The Vanlife App is, and how it's different from others out thereHow to protect the public resources that makes road life sustainableThe ways van life can be the answer to affordable housingThe ways Bre and Lacey try to find balance between their businesses and their relationshipBasics on city ordinances against vehicle habitationLesser-discussed challenges of living on the roadWhat the road travel community can do to create more protections for people living in vehiclesOther Resources:Follow Bre and Lacey on Instagram - @theladiesvanLearn about SD CampervansCheck out The Vanlife AppJoin the On the Road, Our Way Facebook Group!Sponsor Websites & CodesMerrellEnjoy this episode? Today I have Darren Kelk, Founder of Fresh Networking with me.Darren has had a very successful career in the travel industry, starting at Flight Centre as a travel consultant in 2001 and working his way up to Area Leader. He then ventured out on his own with TravelManagers in 2010 which is where he discovered the art of Networking and found he was a natural fit.Networking became a key marketing strategy in his business and throughout the years he has been involved with many networking groups throughout Melbourne. However, as Darren’s business evolved he found it difficult to find a group that really resonated with his values, so, therefore, he created his own called Fresh Networking.Darren started Fresh as a hobby with a hub in South Yarra, Melbourne with 15 people and now it has grown to 17 hubs with over 200 Freshies in Melbourne and is now looking to expand up to the Eastern coast. His official title is 'His Royal Freshness', which shows his quirky humour and sense of fun, which resonates throughout all aspects of the business. This is a fun and interesting chat where we discuss:Fresh Networking and how it differs to other events out thereHow to network effectively to achieve the best outcomesThe biggest mistakes people make with networkingHow Darren has managed the rapid growth of his business.Enjoy my chat with Darren.Links: Fresh NetworkingTravelManagers

WARREN BUFFETT SAYS: "My friend, Ben Stein, has written a short book that tells you everything you need to know about investing (and in words you can understand). Follow Ben's advice and you will do far better than almost all investors (and I include pension funds, universities and the super-rich) who pay high fees to advisors."    In his entertaining and informative style that has captivated generations, beloved New York Times bestselling author, actor, and financial expert Ben Stein sets the record straight about capitalism in the United States?it is not the "rigged system" young people are led to believe. Guess which side gets the happier life?" Most Americans have not inherited wealth or a successful business that could set them up for life. That means most Americans are destined for financial worry and concern for the rest of their lives. Right? Wrong! Ben Stein explains how the wonderful system of stock market capitalism can allow any American to build financial security. In this succinct guide, you will learn:    Why it really is better to have money? and how to get thereHow to save first, and then spend? automaticallyWhy investing in great companies is easier than you think
