Sometimes you need a little extra money, but what you don't need is another boss, a second shift, or a business plan you'll never finish. In this episode, we're walking through some of the most overlooked ways to earn extra income. Everything from plasma donation, junk hauling, voiceovers, waiting in line, and a few others I can't put in the description without attracting a bunch of bots. We're challenging the idea that income only comes from jobs. We talk about the emotional (and sometimes physical) tradeoffs, how to spot seasonal bonuses and low-competition opportunities, and why the best side hustles don't always look like work. These are the kind of gigs that don't require a résumé or a 5-year commitment, just a willingness to try something different. Whether you're saving for a trip, refilling your emergency fund, or just need to solve a $500 problem fast, there's something in here for you.In this episode, we cover:Why so many people default to getting another job and what to try insteadThe emotional cost of “just one more shift” when you're already stretched thinHow overlooked, seasonal, or location-based gigs can fill a short-term income gapThe surprising ways people are using their bodies, tools, and free time to get paidWhat makes a side hustle worth doing without turning into a second careerHow to think creatively about short bursts of work that solve real-life money problems Connect with Julien and Kiersten on our website, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube.Join our email list to get updates from us, opportunities for discounts, freebies and a quick rundown on the relevant financial and career news impacting your life. 134 years. That's how long it will take to reach gender parity. So what's holding women back at work? And more importantly -- what can we do about it? That's exactly what we're diving into today.I grew up in the '80s -- the decade of big hair, power suits and Working Girl. A time when women were independent and ambitious. To me, women had ALWAYS been successful at work -- and anything I wanted to achieve in my career was possible.Yet when I entered the workforce (big hair still in tow!), I found workplaces built on traditional systems where men held the power. The corporate environments I worked in encouraged healthy competition and rewarded high performance. As I watched the women around me adapt to these systems, I did the same. From my 20's, the message was clear: To succeed as a woman, I had to be confident, competitive -- even aggressive.Fast forward two decades and workplaces have evolved. We've seen a shift towards equal pay, diversity initiatives and more women in leadership. After 17 years supporting people in their careers, I'm in awe of how far we've come. But progress isn't happening fast enough. And while International Women's Day builds awareness of these issues, I want to extend the conversation beyond one day a year. Because I know real action begins with YOU taking ownership of your career. In this episode I'm breaking down the biggest barriers women still face at work and how to move past them. Whether you're navigating these challenges yourself or leading a team, you'll walk away with practical steps to create real change! You'll learn:Why flexible work can limit visibility and career progression -- and what to do about itThe ONE thing you can control when balancing motherhood and your careerHow to position yourself so hiring managers see your potential -- not their assumptionsThe REAL reason women are still paid and promoted less -- and ways to change thisHow to reclaim your voice at the table and be heard with clarity and confidenceActionable strategies to create collaboration over competition -- and help leaders support women at workSo hit play NOW -- and let's dive in!Thanks for listening.
