Send us Fan MailThis conversation wasn't supposed to begin this way - but maybe that's exactly why it became so powerful. What started as a casual pre-show conversation between two women quickly turned into one of the most candid and vulnerable conversations I've ever shared on the Ageless Glamour Girls™ Podcast. When I started recording, I had no idea that somehow, we were also LIVE.Yes. LIVE. And apparently, my guest noticed before I did! By the time I realized what was happening, we were already about 11 or 12 minutes into some REALLY good stuff. She said, “This is all the good stuff!” And she was right. So, we kept going. And I'm so glad we did. My guest, Jane Bond, is an Identity Strategist, Reinvention Coach, Realtor, host of the Unpack Your Life Podcast, and creator of the Identity Rebuild App. Together, we get REAL about fear, self-doubt, regret, people-pleasing, ambition, exhaustion, and what happens when the life you've built no longer feels quite like the life you want. Jane explains why fear can be so difficult to recognize - sometimes it doesn't look like fear at all. It looks practical. Responsible. Logical. And that hit home for me.Jane and I actually met several years ago when her office was in the same building as my husband's. At one point, she offered me an opportunity to enter the real estate business. I wanted to do it, but I had plenty of perfectly reasonable reasons for saying no. Looking back, however, I can see that fear and a lack of self-trust played a much bigger role in my decision than I realized at the time.We also talk about the difference between confidence and self-trust, why failure is simply “data,” the pressure so many women feel to keep performing and producing, and why reinvention isn't necessarily about becoming someone new. Sometimes it's about returning to who you were all along. Jane also shares her five-step identity framework and introduces the Identity Rebuild App, designed to help people examine the identities they've carried, let go of what no longer serves them, and intentionally move forward. Luvvies, this one is raw. It's funny. It's vulnerable. And yes - at times, it gets VERY real. I hope you enjoy this conversation as much as we enjoyed having it. CHEERS to Healthy Aging and Joyful Living, Luvvies!________________________ABOUT JANE BOND: Identity Strategist | Speaker | HostI'm Jane Bond, a high-level coach and strategist for people who are successful on the outside but know, deep down, that something needs to shift. My work lives at the intersection of identity, clarity, and execution. Send us Fan MailAre you holding yourself back because of your age... without even realizing it?Growing older isn't the problem. The stories we've been told about growing older might be.In this inspiring conversation, Marqueeta Curtis-Haynes welcomes author, podcaster, and Midlife & Beyond creator Jo Blackwell for an honest discussion about self-ageism, reinvention, confidence, and why our later years may hold more possibility than we've been led to believe. In this uplifting and thought-provoking conversation, Marqueeta Curtis-Haynes welcomes author, podcaster, and Midlife & Beyond creator Jo Blackwell for a powerful discussion about self-ageism, reinvention, confidence, and embracing the incredible opportunities that come with growing older. After losing herself during perimenopause and navigating anxiety, depression, and major life changes, Jo discovered that midlife wasn't the end of her story—it was the beginning of an entirely new chapter. Today, she's helping women around the world challenge outdated beliefs about aging and embrace a future filled with purpose, possibility, and joy.Together, Marqueeta and Jo discuss:• What self-ageism is, and how it quietly shapes our lives• Why so many women feel invisible after 50• The surprising "good news" about growing older• Why it's never too late to start over• The difference between reinventing yourself and becoming more of who you truly are• The importance of community, curiosity, and letting go• How changing the way we think about aging can change the way we liveIf you've ever wondered whether your best years are behind you, this conversation will leave you feeling hopeful, empowered, and ready to embrace what's next.At Ageless Glamour Girls™, we believe growing older isn't about becoming less - but about becoming more.********************** From the Desk of Jo Blackwell:I write about the stories we carry, and how they shape the way we experience midlife and growing older. I've always been interested in stories: those that are true, those we are told, and those we tell ourselves. In ancient cultures, storytellers were entrusted with remembering and retelling the stories of the people - helping individuals and communities make sense of who they were, where they came from, and what mattered. I still believe that role matters. Being seen and heard can be as powerful as being loved. Taking the time to truly listen to another human being is a quiet, radical act, and one that feels increasingly necessary in an emotionally disconnected world Over my lifetime, I've spent a great deal of time unpicking my own stories in search of truth and meaning. It has been a long, sometimes painful, but ultimately deeply fulfilling process. As I've grown older, I've found myself arriving, occasionally, at a place that feels like peace. My working life has always revolved around stories: • As a brand photographer, I helped entrepreneurs tell their stories more clearly, so they could attract clients aligned with who they really were. • Through one-to-one coaching, I supported women in midlife to question the stories holding them back and to begin shaping new ones that reflected who they were becoming. • Today, I write about the culture of ageing, and in my fiction, women in midlife and beyond are very often at the heart of the story. Alongside this work, I've been married for more than four decades. We have four children, four children-in-law, and ten grandchildren. They are my greatest blessing, and together, they form the most meaningful story of my life. *********************** CONNECT WITH JO:*Book: Ageing Wonderfully Well: The Good News about Midlife and Growing Older: https://geni.us/AgeingWonderfullyWell*Website: https://www.joblackwell.co.uk/ *YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@JoBlackwell-MidlifeAndBeyond*Substack: https://joblackwellmidlifeandbeyond.substack.com *IG: @joblackwell_midlifeandbeyond Support the showSupport Ageless Glamour Girls™:www.agelessglamourgirls.com www.linkedin.com/in/marqueetacurtishaynes https://www.youtube.com/@agelessglamourgirls https://agelessglamourgirlsboutique.com/Instagram @agelessglamourgirlsFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/agelessglamourgirlsPrivate (AGG) FB Group: The Ageless Café: https://www.facebook.com/groups/theagelesscafeTikTok: @agelessglamourgirlshttps://www.shopltk.com/explore/AgelessGlamourGirls Podcast Producers: Ageless Glamour Girls™ and Purple Tulip Media, LLC

Send us a textIn light of the disturbing and seemingly relentless news surrounding child exploitation, abuse, and trafficking, we are revisiting a powerful and deeply moving conversation that feels more urgent than ever. From high-profile allegations involving public figures to devastating revelations within trusted institutions, the message is clear – this is not isolated, and it is not rare. Statistics show that 1 in 5 girls and 1 in 20 boys experience childhood sexual abuse. Experts believe the real numbers are far higher, as most cases go unreported. The most vulnerable are children between the ages of 7 and 13.Our guest, Kyeni Matee (pronounced Chain-ee), knows this reality firsthand.A professional violinist, youth orchestra teacher, and new author, Kyeni courageously shares her story of abuse that began when she was just seven or eight years old and continued for years. In her book, The Eyes Behind the Violin: Finding My True Identity, she chronicles not only the trauma, but the long road toward healing.Music became her lifeline. Therapy helped her process. Faith anchored her survival. This episode is not easy—but it is necessary.Kyeni's story is one of resilience, truth-telling, and reclaiming identity after it has been stolen. It is also a call to action. We cannot remain silent. If you see something, say something. Teach children to trust their instincts. Protect them. Believe them. This conversation honors survivors—and reminds us why accountability matters.Content Warning: This episode discusses childhood sexual abuse and may be difficult for some listeners.Support Resources This episode discusses childhood sexual abuse and may be difficult for some listeners. If you or someone you love needs support:988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (U.S.) – call or text 988RAINN National Sexual Assault Hotline – 800-656-hopeIf you are outside the U.S., please contact your local crisis or child advocacy center.Support the show https://buymeacoffee.com/agelessglamourgirls www.linkedin.com/in/marqueetacurtishaynes www.agelessglamourgirls.com https://www.shopltk.com/explore/AgelessGlamourGirls https://www.youtube.com/@agelessglamourgirls Instagram @agelessglamourgirls Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/agelessglamourgirls Private (AGG) FB Group: The Ageless Café: https://www.facebook.com/groups/theagelesscafe TikTok: @agelessglamourgirls Podcast Producers: Ageless Glamour Girls and Purple Tulip Media, LLC

Send us a textThe holidays can magnify everything — joy, grief, loneliness, and pressure. And for many women after 50, this season can feel especially complicated. In this powerful conversation, Marqueeta Curtis-Haynes sits down with psychologist, author, podcaster, and speaker Dr. Jody Carrington to explore why loneliness feels louder during the holidays — and what actually helps. Together, they unpack the loss of predictable connection, shifting family roles, grief, and the unrealistic expectation that we're all supposed to feel joyful this time of year.Dr. Jody shares why humans are biologically wired for connection, the difference between being alone and feeling lonely, and how small, intentional moments of connection can be life-saving — not just during the holidays, but all year long. This episode is an invitation to slow down, lower the pressure, and remember that connection — not perfection — is what carries us through. CHEERS to Healthy Aging and Joyful Living, Luvvies!BiographyDr. Jody Carrington is a powerhouse speaker and fearless champion for authentic human connection. She is highly sought after for her expertise, energy and genuine approach to helping people solve the most complex human-centred problems. This rapidly disconnected world is leaving so many of us overwhelmed, lonely, and burned out. Dr. Jody boldly believes that all humans have the capacity for good; however, so many of us these days, because of isolation and burnout, have lost access to that good.Dr. Jody's work often involves understanding just how we got to this disconnected place, what we need to put the pieces back together, and maybe most importantly, how we collectively do "the work" to find our way back home again when (not if) we lose our way. Her authentic, honest, and often hilarious approach never fails to inspire and motivate audiences.Dr. Carrington is the founder and principal psychologist at Carrington & Company, she's written three best-selling books, speaks on hundreds of stages globally each year, and hosts the widely celebrated podcast UNLONELY. In this modern world where we look all the time, but we don't see, where we listen but we don't hear, Dr. Jody is clear on one thing: we were never meant to do any of this alone.https://www.drjodycarrington.com/https://www.instagram.com/drjodycarrington/Support the show https://buymeacoffee.com/agelessglamourgirls www.linkedin.com/in/marqueetacurtishaynes www.agelessglamourgirls.com https://www.shopltk.com/explore/AgelessGlamourGirls https://www.youtube.com/@agelessglamourgirls Instagram @agelessglamourgirls Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/agelessglamourgirls Private (AGG) FB Group: The Ageless Café: https://www.facebook.com/groups/theagelesscafe TikTok: @agelessglamourgirls Podcast Producers: Ageless Glamour Girls and Purple Tulip Media, LLC

Send us a textA super important topic on the Menu today! We're talking Urinary Incontinence. Approximately 30-50% of women over the age of 50 experience some form of urinary incontinence, a condition that tends to become more prevalent with age. Our guest, Dr. Briana Walton, aka - the "Vagina Whisperer" brings the facts on this condition. This podcast provides crucial information and can help all, whether you are experiencing this or someone you know - your mother, grandmother, favorite auntie, or whomever. Do kegels still help at our age? And did you know that there are apps to help you locate the nearest bathrooms on-the-go? 'So glad you're here! *************BIO: Briana Walton MD. I have been a specialist in Female Medicine and Pelvic Reconstructive Surgery for nearly 20 years. One thing I have learned, being on the giving and receiving end of medicine, is that we are continually changing. I chose this specialty because I enjoyed the spectrum of care provided over a woman's life time. And as I have seen my patients change and have changed myself, it has given me an appreciation for the mind, heart, and soul of a woman. As life evolves; having a baby, going through a divorce or surviving menopause, we begin to make choices about our care and appearance that we would never have considered in the past. Some of these choices are emotional and based on fear or concern about our medical health. However, many decisions we make are due to the natural phenomena that occur in a woman's body. These events push us to consider creating a new version of ourselves to address our intimate wellness. I would be happy and honored to help you ask critical questions, and begin to explore areas where you may not have had the courage to speak up. I have learned that women are hard on themselves and don't take time to take care of ourselves because we are always caring for others. I want to give women an opportunity to address their needs and their desires. At the Center for Feminine Wellness and Surgery, we will take the time to discover what's right for you and how to move forward in your renewal process.
