The Authentic path isn't always straight forward and it rarely allows you to stay in one place for long.Rather, there are moments of a switch, a fork in the road and a nudge from your higher self that asks you to be more vulnerable, more honest and live your most authentic moment which you've grown into.In this week's episode Christina talks with Laura Nickels who shares her insights and experiences with authenticity and how it guides her life:You'll hear about:What showing up authentic really isHow to step away from others to show up wholeJoining communities and then moving through themHow to find the authentic path in your lifeThe switch from the old to the newDialling back the drama in your life leads to authenticityHow to lean into VulnerabilityHow being authentic draws community to you.Laura Nickels is an authenticity coach and queen of the pivot. In her 40+ years she has subscribed to conservative christianity, dismantled her religious beliefs, come out later in life, subsequently gone through a divorce from a 15 year marriage, left her school counseling career and started a coaching business. Her coaching practice focuses on helping people free themselves from the pain of inauthenticity to connect to the joy of the freedom that comes from living in alignment. For more information please visit her website: www.nickelscoaching.comor her Instagramor TicTokChristina Fletcher is a Spiritual Awareness coach, energy worker, author, speaker and host of the podcast Showing Up Whole. She specialises in practical spirituality and integrating inner work with outer living.Through mindset, spiritual connection, intuitive guidance, manifestation, and mindfulness techniques Christina helps her clients overcome overwhelm and shame to find a place of flow, ease, and deep heart-centered connection.Christina has been a spiritual life and parent coach for 7 years and trained in Therapeutic Touch 8 years ago. Have you ever wanted life to be a little less, well, complicated and heavy? The guest on the Mary Marantz Show today is telling us how to do just that. Taylor Tippett, known as the flight attendant who leaves encouraging notes on passenger windows, shares how we can find encouragement and meaning amid the heaviness of this world. A few years ago, Taylor was going through a rough season of life, and as she sat in the back of a Boeing 737 journaling, she wrote "be kind to yourself" and then hung it on one of the passenger windows. What started as a personal project to uplift others became a viral sensation as she started writing more notes--and #wordsfromthewindowseat was born. In her latest book, Words from the Window Seat: The Everyday Magic of Kindness, Courage, and Being True To Yourself, Taylor reminds us all that even in the middle of so much darkness and brokenness, it's possible to make a difference and share your unique light. In this vulnerable conversation, Taylor transparently shares her personal journey, including: Breaking off an unhealthy relationship, and acknowledging the unhealth of her own, personal patterns, The trauma in her childhood and how she copes with that now, and What it means to sit with your younger self to step into the fullness of who you were made to be In this conversation with Mary and Taylor, you'll also learn: How to recognize the magic of small moments and the power of everyday kindness, The balance of getting better and but also not beating yourself up in the process, and How to create a pep talk for yourself when you don't ‘win' - because it's okay to be human This uplifting conversation is here to bring a sense of lightness to your day, while also acknowledging the truth of what you're going through. Friend, it's not always easy, but we are so grateful you're here. Snag Taylor's book here! https://www.thomasnelson.com/p/words-from-the-window-seat/

There is so much more good in the world than there is bad. Let’s find the bright side. Melanie Shankle thought she was too far gone. She wasn’t shown the grace and mercy aspect of being a Christian, so by the time she got to college she felt like there was no hope and no going back. Then God met her in a bar in a bathroom, and he pursued her patiently and faithfully and showed her that no daughter of his has ever too far gone…and how to look on the bright side. Melanie is a speaker, the author of four New York Times bestselling books, and the creator of The Big Mama Blog. She lives in San Antonio with her husband, Perry, and daughter, Caroline. In 2006, she felt God’s call on her to be a full-time writer after pouring over parenting blogs and starting her own while on maternity leave. Her newest book, On the Bright Side: Stories About Friendship, Love, and Being True To Yourself, is described as “the ultimate guide to help you discover the power of relationships, the unchanging truths of life, and importance of giving up comparisons.” Melanie is an open book and tells us these four things about herself: “I don’t like Chinese food. So there’s that. In particular, I don’t like water chestnuts. I think they’re a really weird texture.” “I sleep with like seven pillows at night. I’m a very high-maintenance sleeper.” “I was a Judy Blume nut.” “As a fourth-grader, I would get up, and eat my cereal and read Erma Bombeck. I thought she was so funny.” Melanie and I had a blast sitting in my living room, laughing and talking about all sorts of things: how the world seems to have forgotten about love and mercy and grace and that we all need to be reminded that there is light; how God meets us right where we are; the precious role of a mother and how to stay sane while raising kids; our mutual obsession with Cheer on Netflix … I hope she encourages you and helps you look for the bright side! Are you so enmeshed with another person or a situation, that you find it difficult to know who you are as a whole, independent person? Being unable to sense yourself separate from others can often lead to emptiness, co-dependency and frustration. There are questions that you can ask to help figure out and embrace your true self. 1.
