The centre has been serving the neighbouring and international communities for over a decade.Dr Sainfort has dedicated over 25 years of her life to medical studies and is on a quest to explore and gain an understanding of how to heal intergenerational or inherited pain, emotions, trauma and patterns. After acquiring a Doctorate Degree in General Medicine, she began her career at the University of Miami Hospital in Investigative Clinical Trial Research. She held that position for a few years; then went on to pursue post-Doctorate Studies in Ayurvedic Medicine, Traditional Chinese Medicine/Acupuncture, and Sufi Studies & Spiritual Healing. She subsequently attended the University of Spiritual Healing and Sufism (USHS) in California where she obtained a master's degree in divinity (MDiv). Being always on a quest for truth, she was always curious about ancestral relationships with the living. Some beliefs attest that when a person dies, life is over; yet, others and biblical scriptures confide that life is eternal; she was always perplexed by that dichotomy. She has hosted many family lineage healing, and detoxification & rejuvenation retreats throughout the USA and abroad for many years. She has helped transform the health and lives of many, including adults, children, couples, and families with personal, intergenerational, and spiritual health issues. Dr Sainfort is optimistic that a combined approach of Western and Eastern medicine, and a Spiritual healing approach could deliver comprehensive results and more complete care for the population at large. That is the Holistic Approach to health and wellness she advocates. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
Dr. Melissa Franklin is the Mallinckrodt Professor of Physics at Harvard University. Melissa's research aims to better understand the nature of space and time. To accomplish this, Melissa uses large particle accelerators to collide particles together. This produces a lot of energy in a relatively small space over a relatively short time. She and her colleagues observe what happens when these particles collide under the conditions of excited spacetime that they created. Some of Melissa's favorite things to do when she's not working include reading, watching movies, listening to music, and going for walks. On a sunny day, you can often find her enjoying a scenic walk alongside the nearby pond in Cambridge. She completed her undergraduate studies in Physics at the University of Toronto and received her PhD in Physics from Stanford University. Next, Melissa conducted research as a postdoctoral fellow at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. She served on the faculty of the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign and was a Junior Fellow in the Society of Fellows at Harvard before joining the faculty there. Melissa has been named a Fellow of the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation and a Fellow of the American Physical Society, and she has been awarded the Spark Award for Women in Science from the Women in Science at Harvard-Radcliffe, as well as a Doctorate Degree in Law from Queens University in Canada. The Tower of the Flock Dr. Christine Van Horn pt 2 As we are preparing for the Christmas season, the celebration of the Lord's birth (at least that is what it was meant to be, not the commercialized things we see today – but that's a story for a different day)… Now, as I was saying, as we are preparing to celebrate the birth of our Lord into this earth, many, many churches will have their little children's plays about “no room in the inn” and born in barn” and “laid in a manager,” etc. And that's OK… at least it's something… But, I am almost 100% certain, that most of you have not really studied this out for yourself. But our guest today has. And what she is going to share with us today will give you a more complete understanding of every single aspect of the “Christmas Story.” I know it will, because I was moved by the Lord about two years ago to start looking at this myself. I've shared this story the past couple of years on our radio program, “Freedom Through Faith” that airs on Evangelism Radio. I would run this particular teaching just before Christmas the last two years – AND I'm planning on doing it again this year. Praise God! I said all of that, because Dr. Christian Van Horn has written an absolutely fabulous book that details every facet of this story and will just blow your mind on the misinformation you've been fed over the years. Her book, “The Tower of the Flock” will expound upon things you've always know, but then open your eyes to the “story behind the story.” And then shares with you the importance of that back story to the fulfillment of scripture – especially when it comes to the Birth of Jesus. Dr. Christine Van Horn is an author, teacher and speaker. She is the author of 6 books, with three of them focusing on teaching character and foundational values. Her most recent book is “Teach Your Children Timeless Truths in Uncertain Times.” We did an interview on that book about a month ago. So I would direct you to go to our archives and look up episode number 1173 and 1174. Christine has been the team leader for a children's program called “Character Club.” She has a Doctorate Degree in Theology and serves in the Children's Ministry at Insight Church in Tinley Park, IL. She was also on the faculty of the International College of Excellence Bible College. She also has coaching program that brings all of these concepts together called, “Wisdom Decisions – Foundational Values.” And, as I said, today, we will be discussing one of her books titled, “The Tower of the Flock.” Today is part two, and the conclusion, of a GREAT two part interview! The field that David was tending the sheep in was the exact same field that shepherds would be tending to their flocks when Jesus was born. Is that correct? All of this explained why the Jews knew the Messiah was supposed to come from the line of David and be born in Bethlehem. But yet, they did not put two and two together concerning the birth of Jesus. So, let's dive now into the importance of the “Tower of the Flock.” In the traditional birth of Jesus nativity scene, Bible stories and all that goes with that… I first want to debunk every single one of those narratives. So, let's start by stepping all over the...

But, before we get into the book and what “The Tower of the Flock” is all about, for the sake of new listeners that may not have heard your prior interview, tell us in your own words, “Who is Christine Van Horn?” Christine, what led you to studying the biblical references that led you to “The Tower of the Flock?” You start your book by taking us all the way back to the days of Jacob and Rachel. How do they lay the groundwork for the Birth of Jesus in Bethlehem? In...
Timeless Truths In Uncertain Times Christine Van Horn pt 2 https://www.drchris.co/ ()There is no doubt that our children today are facing things on a daily basis that we, their parents and grandparents, could not even fathom a few years ago, let alone when we were growing up. Family time is almost non-existent. The days of playing in the yard or playing board games at home are not even remotely like they were when we were growing up. Today, kids have their own smart phones when in elementary school. They spend their days, nights and weekends in the “online world.” They receive news, commentary and their values from “social media influencers.” Most of the time, the values being taught are not the values you would like instilled in your children or grandchildren. Our guest today is an expert in helping you to develop character traits, Godly, moral character traits, in your children and grandchildren and the life skills that go with them. Dr. Christine Van Horn is an author, teacher and speaker. She is the author of 6 books, with three of them focusing on teaching character and foundational values. Her most recent book is https://amzn.to/3T8geq2 (“Teach Your Children Timeless Truths in Uncertain Times.”) She has been the team leader for a children's program called “Character Club.” She has a Doctorate Degree in Theology and serves in the Children's Ministry at Insight Church in Tinley Park, IL. She was also on the faculty of the International College of Excellence Bible College. She also has coaching program that brings all of these concepts together called, “Wisdom Decisions – Foundational Values.” Her book and program are for all families, but her emphasis and foundation is Biblical. She says her mission is to address the character problem issues facing families today. This is part two of a fabulous two part interview! I like one of the sections where you discussed, “Make Decisions.” As an officer in the US Army Cavalry, I was taught and trained how to gather as much information as possible in the time allotted and to “make a decision” and go with it. General George Patton, Jr. had a quote that I still use to this day, “A good plan, implemented now, is better than a perfect plan tried later.” I lived according to that premise then and still do today. But our children are not being taught how to make decisions. They are being taught by influences in social media, public perception, etc. How can we change that mindset? You share that adults need to become life coaches or mentors to children. How do we instill a desire for the adults to change if they have been instilled with the modern psychology of what we have been discussing? Is this possible even if our children are grown and have children of their own? Would it be considered “meddling” if grandparents tried to instill these values into their grandchildren? Especially if these values were not being mirrored by the parents, teachers, etc.? As I said before, we are now into about the fourth generation of these declining value systems and lack of education. What steps can Christian parents or grandparents take to try and change the direction of our youth today? Is any of this able to be instilled in the church? I know that church attendances are down (especially since COVID) and, add to that, the tendency of many churches to skirt the issues when comes to preaching Biblical values, etc. in today's culture. Tell us a little bit about your coaching program, “Wisdom Decisions – Foundational Values.” You use Biblical scriptures to help emphasize the foundation of the things you share, in your book and in your coaching program, correct? Christine, this has been so interesting. Your book, https://amzn.to/3T8geq2 (“Teach Your Children Timeless Truths in Uncertain Times”) is something every parent and grandparent should read. I know I enjoyed going through it in preparation for our interview. How can someone obtain a copy of your...

She says her mission is to address the character problem issues facing families today. First question I always start with is this. Other than that brief information I just shared, can you tell us in your own words, “Who is Christine Van Horn?” In this “information age” we live in today, where everything is literally at our fingertips, how challenging is it for us to teach our children how to filter out what is true and what is not true? In your book, you discuss the “fog of war,” but for children in today's society. Can you explain that for us? You also share that, when we were growing up, our school days started with a specific order to begin each and every day. I remember a prayer and then the Pledge of Allegiance. I also remember when prayer was declared “unconstitutional” and stopped. To me, that was the beginning of the end of school and society as we knew it back then. What are your thoughts on this? When I was growing up, I had some Sunday School teachers who were also teachers in our school system. So the values passed along in Sunday school were being mirrored in the classroom. We are now in, at least, the fourth generation of the reshaping of our educational system. Instead of teachers imparting wisdom and discipline and “training up a child in the way they should go,” we are teaching them today there are no such things as “good or bad; right or wrong or even girl and boy.” So, to quote a chapter from your book, “Where do we go from here?” Why did you write this book at this time? I like one of the sections where you discussed, “Make Decisions.” As an officer in the US Army Cavalry, I was taught and trained how to gather as much information as possible in the time allotted and to “make a decision” and go with it.
