Why do we get so embarrassed when we're learning a new sport or skill or craft? I call it beginner's shame. PERSON: “Are these your paintings?”US: “I mean, yes… but like, I'm JUST STARTING and I haven't had any OFFICIAL TRAINING and this is just a HOBBY, and these paintings here aren't my BEST ONES, you know, and uh…”I notice it in the surf, girls who are learning, yet sit out on the shoulder and don't go for waves when they roll in, simply because some old dude is going for it, too.And in the girls' head she has this running dialogue like “well… they're probably a better surfer and i'm just going to fall off anyway so, you know, I'll just wait for another one.” I get it. We don't really allow much space for people in this world who are just… average at something. In this solocast Caitlin talks about her journey with beginner's shame, how she moved past it and some advice to get going on that thing you've always wanted toTry the Salty Club 30 Days FreeEditing by Mateus GomesSong 'Green' by Mae Mae

How do you pick the right running shoes as an ultrarunner? With so many choices out there, it can be tough to know exactly what shoe is the best for you. That's why I brought my friend, Nathaniel Chan, onto the podcast as he is a shoe specialist at Sole Sports Tempe, and has such a huge in-depth knowledge of shoes and what kind of shoes are best for runners. Not only is he an expert in shoes, but he is also an ultrarunner himself, completing the Black Canyon 100K, Speedgoat 50K multiple times, and has been running for a majority of his life. In this episode, Nathaniel shares the most important things to consider when choosing a shoe as an ultra athlete, suggestions for what type of shoes to test out to find out the best ones that work for you, if carbon-plated trail shoes are really worth the hype, and whether or not you should wear trail shoes. This is a MASTERCLASS on shoe selection and definitely a must-listen episode. Huge thank you to Nathaniel for making this happen! Host and founder of Broadly Specific Bondan Syamsu (@bondansyamsu) and returning guest Sei Violette (@SeiViolette) just watched episode 6 of HBO's The Last of Us. This week, we see a pivotal moment from the game recaptured perfectly in the show. Pedro Pascal's Joel and Bella Ramsey's Ellie also shined, bringing more nuance and depth to what you see in the game. Overall it's definitely one of the best episodes so far. Enjoy! We have some favorite episodes to share with you - from our own podcast! There's a few nuggets we summarize about each one for some quick inspiration.
-Embattled Iowa OC Brian Ferentz was retained for next year despite much disdain from the fanbase, and his ‘punishment' for a bad year this year is great: a $50K decrease in salary (down to $850K), and a performance objective of an average of 25 points per game and at least 7 wins-Are they going to require 25 offensive points per game or 25 points total?-Interesting they'd put wins in there, since the defense/special teams is critical in most Iowa wins…has Coach Busch seen or been part of any weird stipulations for incentives in contracts?Show sponsored by GANA TRUCKINGAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy

In this video, we're breaking down the five best ideas from OSHO (aka Bhagwan Rajneesh). This is the dude from the Netflix documentary Wild Wild Country (a fantastic watch). Obviously, I'm not endorsing cults or what he did - but this video will hopefully attempt to separate the bad stuff and give you the good stuff, his ideas, in a concise manner. Here are my five favorite ones after reading lots of Osho's books ad studying his stuff over the years. Enjoy.
