Infection. Despite the party decreasing by one, and the always present terror of hoping a video adaptation holds up, Bella Ramsey's performance convinced Ivan & Red to follow HBO Max's The Last of Us for at least one more episode. Hopefully by episode 3 they'll have escaped the hellscape that is Boston, Maine. Timestamps: The Last of Us: (00:00:50) The Peripheral: (00:31:50) Da Binge Bois talk about the hottest show to storm the planet RIGHT NOW, is The Last Of Us! Based on the video game franchise of the same name starring Pedro Pascal of "The Mandalorian" fame as Joel, and Bella Ramsey as Ellie, we begin our adventure with the duo and start to learn their journey. Enrique is a big fan of the series as he played the first game on release and has beaten The Last Of Us Part II, with the first part being in his top 5-10 video games of all time. Eli enjoyed the story of the game but the gameplay left him struggling to continue so he is excite to pick up the TV show, and Tristan is a virgin to the franchise! Since the trailer, we all have been excited to review episode 1 and are now patiently waiting for episode 2 to drop after the small little preview at the end of the episode! During the talk of the show, we talk about one of the best subtle horror scenes in television history, the introduction and death of Joel's daughter Sarah, the amazing world and how desensitized everyone is to it after 20 years have past! Listen to our reaction! After that, we talk about Chloe Grace Moretz's, of Kickass fame, newest project sci fi series The Peripheral! Our talks about the show included discussion our stupidity and how maybe we just don't have the brain capacity to dissect the entirety of the series. During how discussion we gave our loves to Conner the war veteran who lost all but one of his limbs in an explosion trying to save a dog in the war in Texas in 2032, how we felt a disconnect amongst many characters ESPICEALLY Tommy who was a mark azz trick, and how the show could of set itself up to have a really strong season 2 but didn't do what we would have liked to seen. Next week, we return to a sci-fi world when we watch Bladerunner 2049! Series Synopsis: The Last of Us is an American post-apocalyptic drama television series created by Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann for HBO. Based on the 2013 video game developed by Naughty Dog, the series is set twenty years after a mass fungal infection sparked a global pandemic and follows Joel (Pedro Pascal), a smuggler tasked with escorting the teenage Ellie (Bella Ramsey) across a post-apocalyptic United States. The supporting cast features Gabriel Luna as Joel's younger brother Tommy and Anna Torv as Joel's smuggler partner Tess. The Last of Us, said to be the largest television production in Canadian history, was filmed in Alberta from July 2021 to June 2022. It is the first HBO series based on a video game, and is a joint production by Sony Pictures Television, PlayStation Productions, Naughty Dog, the Mighty Mint, and Word Games. The first season consists of nine episodes written by Druckmann, who wrote and co-directed the original game, and Mazin. The score was composed by Gustavo Santaolalla, who composed for the game, and David Fleming The Peripheral is an American science fiction streaming television series executive produced and created by Scott Smith. Produced by Amazon, it is loosely based on the 2014 book of the same name written by William Gibson. Westworld creators Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy serve as executive producers, along with Athena Wickham, Steve Hoban, and Vincenzo Natali. Set roughly a decade in the future, with some new technology that has changed society in subtle ways, a VR gamer is delivered a connection to an alternate reality, as well as a dark future of her own. The series had its world premiere on October 11, 2022, at the Ace Hotel in Los Angeles, before its debut on October 21, 2022, on Amazon Prime Video.

The era of Pedro Pascal is truly here on this week's show as Morgan and Jeannine discuss the beginning of HBO's ambitious adaptation of the immensely popular video game THE LAST OF US starring Pascal alongside Bella Ramsey as well as the new trailer for THE MANDALORIAN SEASON 3. The Last Of Us TV show is finally with us, on HBO in the US and here in the UK through Sky Atlantic / NOW. At long, long last - so to speak - The Last Of Us is here. At last. In 2013 the first game came out on PS3 - remember that? - and now, a decade later, Naughty Dog's critically-adored post-apocalyptic zombie heartbreaker has finally been adapted for the small screen, and by Chernobyl's Craig Mazin no less, so that's how you know it'll be a laugh riot. Ahem. Talking to TLOU superfan Ali we have Craig himself, as well as our Joel and Ellie, Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey, not forgetting game co-creator Neil Druckmann and, well, quite a few others as it goes.
This week HBO is set to release its latest show, The Last Of Us, about two strangers, who end up on a perilous journey together through a zombie-infested post-apocalyptic America. The show, starring Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey, is based on a hit video game series of the same name. It should be an easy hit for the network. Yet, the show's creators have had to contend with what's known as the “video game curse.” Dating back to the 1993 Super Mario Bros. movie, adaptations of video games into film and television have left us with a long list of critical failures. From 2022's Uncharted, to the 2021 Mortal Kombat, and the 2016 Assassin's Creed movie, which earned a whopping 19% on Rotten Tomatoes. This week, OTM Correspondent Micah Loewinger speaks with New Yorker writer and editor, Alex Barasch, about his latest piece ‘Can a Video Game Be Prestige TV?,' if HBO's latest venture could finally break the infamous curse, and why studios continue to make productions based on video games.
The film critic Clarisse Loughrey and literary editor Sam Leith join Tom Sutcliffe live in the studio to review the new HBO series The Last of Us, based on the critically acclaimed video game, and the film Enys Men, a Cornish folk horror by Mark Jenkin, the BAFTA winning director of BAIT. In the most recent in an occasional series of interviews about the artistic influence of mentors, the musician and composer Nitin Sawhney discusses his relationship with his mentor, the sitar virtuoso Ravi Shankar. Ahead of next week's announcement of the winner of the T.S. Eliot Prize for Poetry, Victoria Adukwei Bulley reads her poem The Ultra-Black Fish from her shortlisted collection Quiet. Presenter: Tom Sutcliffe Producer: Kirsty McQuire Picture: Pedro Pascal as Joel & Bella Ramsey as Ellie HBO / Warner Media© 2022 Home Box Office, Inc.

Ticket to Paradise is a Romantic Comedy Reuniting Julia Roberts and George Clooney, Rosaline is a reimagining of Romeo and Juliet Starring Kaitlyn Dever, and Katherine Called Birdy is a Medieval comedy starring Bella Ramsey written and directed by Lena Dunham. I'm talking about all 3 movies on this podcast Enjoy.
I have LOVED Lena Dunham since her break-out show, Girls, so I am so excited we are joined by her today! In case you haven't watched it, Girls - which was written by and starring Lena - followed four best pals as they navigated boys, friendships, sexuality and their careers. Lena won multiple Golden Globes, a BAFTA, and received a tonne of Emmy nominations for her work, which became a game-changing representation of women on screen. Now after starring in the movie, Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, and taking a break from the spotlight, she is back, directing and writing the Amazon Prime movie, Catherine Ccalled Birdy. I LOVED this movie so much, and I know you will too. It follows Birdy (played by Bella Ramsey) a medieval teenager who as she comes of age, andso it covers everything from her first periods to her first painful crush. It also stars previousformer Reign guest, Isis Hainsworth, the hot priest himself Andrew Scott, the iconic Billie Piper, and Joe Alwyn. This episode covers exactly that: coming of age, as Lena and I share our first times getting absolutely smashed to our mutual obsession with Billie Piper. the pop star. We also talk about Lena's journey towards self love and how being open and honest about her endometriosis has empowered her. Plus we discuss the sexist treatment female directors are still subjected to in the wake of the Olivia Wilde online drama. If you have missed any of the episodes of Reign Season six go check them out now - we've been joined by Stranger Things star, Natalia Dyer, iCarly's Miranda Cosgrove, Fate: The Winx Saga, Abigail Cowen and Kaitlyn Dever. I hope you keep on listening and finding the power to Reign in your own lives. If you love this episode, please get in touch (follow me across social media @joshsmithhosts), I love hearing from you. This week, Black Adam's Dwayne Johnson is teasing that a plan is in motion to have Henry Cavill return as Superman. Is this what we want as fans? Plus we discuss HBO's 'The Last Of Us' star Bella Ramsey was told by writer directors not to play the Last of Us games from Naughty Dog. What does this mean and is it a good thing for the series? Then we discuss the reshuffling of Marvel dates leading to Blade being put on hold. Without a director, what does this mean for the movie and their cast? Will Mahershala Ali stay as the lead? Then let's discuss comments from Brendan Fraser saying Tom Cruise's Mummy movie wasn't fun enough and that he would be down to do another Mummy movie. Does this peak your excitement? Should he reprise his role? Speaking of reprisals, Kenneth Branagh is once again dawning his legendary mustache in a new Hercule Poirot sequel called A Haunting in Venice. Then for See It or Skip It, we have new trailers from Enola Homes 2 starring Millie Bobby Brown · Enola Holmes ; Henry Cavill · Sherlock Holmes ; Sam Claflin · Mycroft Holmes ; Helena Bonham Carter · Eudoria Holmes. Catherine Called Birdy is a novel beloved by many who grew up in the '90s. One millennial in particular who remembers the book fondly is writer and director Lena Dunham. She's translated the novel into a wry coming-of-age movie starring Bella Ramsey as Catherine, a smart and spirited teen living in medieval England. When her parents set out to match her with a suitor, she finds increasingly clever ways to resist any such arrangement.
