The first weekend of baseball is in the books and i never realized how much I've missed the big fly. Well we were spoiled with homeruns last season, but a couple of the big flys have been majestic, you can't help but admire them. Stanton got the party started and kept it going. It seems like every homerun hit this year has a different sound and go 450 plus. There was also the return to the mound with Otahni taking the mound for the first time since 2018. I think he may have forgotten how to pitch because he couldn't even get one out. Finally, Covid news, as more players around the league are testing postive, with a possible outbreak with the Miami Marlins. Now the question can be asked, how many is enough? --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/passionforthepastime/support

The 2019 baseball season starts for real this week as Jack and Jeremy head out to their first live game action of the season and bring you a SUPER-SIZED episode! First the guys head to the southside to see the White Sox take on the Royals. It was barely 2 innings into the game when Jack and Jeremy got their first taste of classic White Sox rowdy fan behavior! They also answer some major cliffhangers from the 2018 season about the return of scorecards, the Big Fly, and Brewing with Ricky - and meet some new friends, like the Gangsta Beer Vendor! Then it was onto Wrigley to see the Cubs battle the Diamondbacks. It was a brutal windstorm and the guys barely made it out alive. On the northside, Jeremy reconnects with Catfish Man, they encounter a ruthlessly seat-kicking kid, and meet a goofy nerd who puts money where his mouth is, literally! Please enjoy this jumbo episode and spread the word, tell a friend, or spam your work distribution list! We want to get the word out about the Rain Delay Theater podcast in 2019!

Los Angeles Angels/FOX Sports West TV Broadcaster, Victor Rojas, joins the show to talk about his experience growing up around the game, playing in the Angels' minor league system, radio broadcasting 162+ games for the Diamondbacks in '03, being the 1st On-Air Personality on MLB Network in '09, calling Sammy Sosa's 600th Career Home-Run, why Bryce Harper/Manny Machado haven't been signed yet, if Mike Trout will re-sign or leave Anaheim & much, much more! (MUST LISTEN!!!)
In a game that was marked on the calendars since Spring Training, Japanese baseball star Shohei Ohtani and the Los Angeles Angels come to the southside to take on the White Sox! And Ohtani, torn UCL and all, delivered! Hear Jack and Jeremy recap the entire Ohtani Experience, including Jeremy getting on a Red Line train heading in the wrong direction out of pure overexcitement. The guys also discuss a final(?) pitiful ending to the Big Fly game on the video board for this season, they try to figure out if anyone is ever going to be the player to be named later in the Felix Pena trade, and we hear from a knowledgeable father who begs to differ with his kids' proclamation that Mike Trout is the best player in baseball. And one final chaotic and catastrophic parting shot to our White Sox trips this season takes place in the bathroom before heading home. If this was the last White Sox game of the year for Jack and Jeremy, they ended it in a fitting way, so tune in to hear their Southside adventures come full circle!
