Bummed your invitation to Martin Short's cottage in the Muskokas was evidently lost in the mail? Save yourself the long drive and listen to this week's episode of brioux.tv: the podcast. One of my favourite guests, filmmaker Mitch Azaria, is back with his sixth in an annual series exploring the province of Ontario: Tripping The Muskoka Lakes. We talk all about the new documentary, premiering April 20 on TV Ontario and also streaming (even earlier) on TVOdocs.org and at TVO's YouTube channel. This latest three hour, immersive, real-time documentary invites viewers to cruise along in a made-in-Muskoka Duke runabout, a mahogany classic converted to electric power. From the passenger seat you'll cruise past incredible boat houses along "Millionaires" and "Billionaires" row. Reel in a boatload of pop up info bites and dive under the water to visit an actual shipwreck. Travel tariff free from your own living room. All aboard!
I work hard on these headlines and I DON'T GET PAID FOR IT. Someday you'll all have these collected in a coffee table book. That'll be quite the day. UNTIL THEN, Hoagie Mouth World, you've got our weekly Philadelphia sports podcast. Just audio for now, we're easing into video. Slowly. We get RIGHT into the thick of NFL draft prep, and the panel of Mike, Bob and Jeff evaluate the areas of need on the Eagles. We all know we lost a ton of rushers / disrupters, so we start there and eventually we get to tight ends. That was fun to write.Up next it's LIVE look-ins at the Phillies as they kick off their series away at the Braves (game 3 rubber match is tonight as of this writing). Will these legendary NL East matchups be something to write home about? Or will their hopes be dashed just like Alec Bohm's "BODY LANGUAGE"??Tune in next week too, as we really get into draft mode, and we shall tease a very special episode for draft night. Join us, eh? Tariff free.Email: hoagiemouthpod@gmail.comIG: @hoagiemouthpod

The 2015 remake of Point Break is all style and no substance. It's an extreme sports highlight video that flourishes when the stunts are on display, but fizzles whenever the cast has to act. Ultimately, there is just too much going on, and as we bound from place to place and stunt to stunt, very little in the way of plot or character depth is ever established. Sure, having the radical Robin Hoods branch out into several extreme sports seems cool on the surface, but there has to be more to the film than insane feats across beautiful locales. Hence why this Point Break couldn't muster the same following as its predecessor. It's empty calories. The stakes feel shallow when we don't care about any of the people engaging in the death-defying pageantry. The lesser Bodhi's empty philosophizing doesn't help either. Now, sit back, get gnarly with a Antihero IPA from Revolution Brewing, and follow your line! The Thunderous Wizard, Chumpzilla, and Bling Blake aren't living off the grid! We're living on it—just on our own terms! This Week's Segments: Introduction/Plot Breakdown – The only law that matters is gravity! (0:00) Lingering Questions – Why? Why did this need to happen? It's common for people to feel upset and disappointed about having to ask for what you want. This is especially true if you believe you shouldn't have to ask, and that your partner should "just know" what to do for you (whether that's in bed, in flirting, foreplay communication, or romantic gestures). After all, we see that played out in movies and TV all the time: the magic intuiting of the partner's needs. But while it's common to think "they should just know," it also tends to make you feel awful, creates distance and resentment in your relationship, and doesn't help you get what you want.Tune in to this episode to find out how to free yourself from this belief system and get more of what you're craving.Get a FREE GUIDE to FINDING YOUR DEEPEST TURN-ONS and learn how to get help with relationships and intimacy at https://laurajurgens.com. Ok, Yasi and the Scots are back for Madchester part two. We last saw The Stone Roses after they released their celebrated EP Sally Cinnamon, on the brink of a make-or-break decision: should they sign to Jive or Rough Trade? Meanwhile, the Happy Mondays were riding the wave of their debut album Squirrel and G-Man Twenty Four Hour Party People Plastic Face Carnt Smile (White Out), and guess what? They have a new friend: Ecstasy. They're now starting to make music influenced by its heart-opening potency. This is when the rave scene starts to bubble up from the dark Manchester clubs, like the Hacienda. Patrick Rieger emailed some photos: "Hi Marc, I feel like I have been slacking this summer sending you pictures after having sent so many. Celtic Pittsburgh hasn't been doing much the past few months though we do have plans in the works for an event in October. Meanwhile, the renaissance festival season for my family and I started when we attended the Great Lakes Medieval faire the weekend of July 27 and 28. It was a great weekend, and we needed time away from the daily routine. With life so busy for everyone we hardly see friends anymore, and this was a chance to see many of them. We were happy to find that our friend Captain John Stout, aka Richard Brentar, has returned to Great Lakes after having been absent for a few years. I'm not sure what I enjoy more, his music or his stories, he always has lots of great stories to tell. We also saw the Jackdaws, Celtic Mayhem, and Michael Manderen. Sadly we didn't make the shows of Menagerie Music this year but we did manage to catch up with Lisa from that duo. My family and I plus a couple of friends went to see John McCann and Hamish at Mullaney's Harp & Fiddle in Pittsburgh on August 3. These two are a lot of fun and have great energy, and get the place jumping. I have seen them for 15 years, starting when they were part of the Corned Beef & Curry Band. Sadly that band broke up when one of the three decided to explore other musical paths. I'll be sending more pictures of Celtic musicians come September after trips to two more ren faires. Until then, slainte!" Cheryl Arvio emailed some photos: "Hi Marc, Sorry these photos aren't better, but this is Socks in the Frying Pan from Friday night's show at the Irish American Heritage Center in Chicago. Brilliant, as they always are! Bummed that they are not playing Milwaukee Irish Fest this year, but happy we got to see them (and pick up their new CD) in our hometown. Best,"
Hour 1: From the looks of things, it seems like Jayden Daniels won't play on Sunday against the Bears. According to Commanders Head Coach Dann Quinn Daniels won't practice again. Caleb Williams spoke to the media yesterday with his thoughts on the matchup. Are you happier the Bears have an easier matchup or bummed we likely won't see Caleb vs Jayden? ABC-7 Chicago's Dionne Miller was in for Kap.
Lord, I'm exhausted and I don't totally know why. I want to point out all the reasons I shouldn't feel this way, but the truth is I do feel this way and you care about that because you care about me. I've tried to ignore it, and in doing so I'm ignoring your still small voice calling me to you as my Heavenly Father. Pour your Spirit over those tired places in my soul, my body, and my heart.

City confiscates church's loud speakers, an update about an atheist parolee, we actually agree with the Oklahoma Supreme Court, a story to remind us that Oklahoma is Bible crazy, ultra-Orthodox men must be drafted into Israeli army too, a Christian utopia in Nigeria fails (not in the way you would think), and boy oh boy... that was one heck of a debate.

"The Clocks Are Out Of Time" The East London outfit The Jack Rubies may have gotten their start in 1987 and quickly fired off two brilliant albums--1988's Fascinatin' Vacation and 1990's See The Money In My Smile--but that was it; they literally dropped off the musical map. And it was a weird disappearance because they were poised for big things--they had critical acclaim, they'd toured with The Triffids, They Might Be Giants, Modern English and the Blow Monkeys and were fan favorites on MTV's 120 Minutes. So what happened? Where did they go? Well, the short answer to the first question is, they went on hiatus. And the short answer to the second question is New York, North Carolina and England. That clears nothing up, right? Let me help a bit: The musical landscape was changing, things got weird with their record company, they were young men acutely aware of getting older and it just didn't seem to make sense to go on. I'm oversimplifying, but that's kind of the gist of it. The band's singer Ian Wright will fill in the gaps. Bummed as fans like me were that they were gone, the good news is they're back. Firing with the same melodic accuracy and pop smarts that endeared them to fans in the first place, the Jack Rubies' third album Clocks Are Out Of TIme is a startling and welcome return to form. Filled with unforgettable hooks and lyrical smarts the Jack Rubies are not only back, they're back with their original lineup. And this isn't just unfinished business--there's more music on the way. www.bigstirrecords.com www.thejackrubies.bandcamp.com www.stereoembersmagazine.com www.alexgreenbooks.com www.bombshellradio.com Twitter: @emberseditor IG: @emberspodcast Email: editor@stereoembersmagazine.com

Would you say that you and your family are better off or worse off, financially, than you were a year ago? Do you think in 12 months we'll have good times, financially, or bad? Generally speaking, do you think now is a good time or a bad time to buy a house? These are the kinds of questions baked into the Consumer Sentiment Index. And while the economy has been humming along surprisingly well lately, sentiment has stayed surprisingly low.Today on the show: We are really bummed about the economy, despite the fact that unemployment and inflation are down. So, what gives? We talk to a former Fed economist trying to get to the heart of this paradox, and travel to Michigan to check in on the place where they check the vibes of the economy.
